VFarm's idea of building vertically stacked farms on skyscrapers that produce crops twice as fast, while using 40% less power, having 80% less food waste, and using 99% less water than outdoor fields is definitely the way to conserve energy and help the environment at the same time.

Can you tell me more about what hydrophonics will vfarm employ???

The hydrophonics system is a key part of vertical farming. VFarm specifically uses the Nutrient Film Technique (NFT) where plants are grown in a soilless solution that is recycled from a reservoir. This provides hydration (water), oxygen and nutrients, which are normally found in soil, and are required for roots. Since in vertical farms the roots are uncovered and exposed to more oxygen, the crops will be able to grow at a faster rate.
