Looks like it's down again?
Has been since when I went on holiday the first time this summer. I've yet to catch up with things.

My anger against what is wrong in the Bitcoin community is productive:
Bitcointa.lk - Replace "Bitcointalk.org" with "Bitcointa.lk" in this url to see how this page looks like on a proper forum (Announcement Thread)
Hashfast.org - Wiki for screwed customers

Might be a good time to fix it with all the legal action going on.

Well it is not really good ... even if you will delete your message for some reason (your BTC address or something else)  people are still able to see it on Bitcointa.lk...

This feature is in my opinion not really good.

Also I very don't like the way in which Bitcointa.lk is designed ...

I like the way in which bitcointalk.org is looking and that's all.

Kind regards.

The (now most probably broken) link account feature would allow you to literally link the two accounts, as in, verify that you own the .org account you are linking from, and do a couple of interesting things like using .org from .lk, with a browser extension posting the same messsages on .org for you.

I will put a look into those issues. It has been too long.

Wow, nice job... I've only just checked out bitcointa.lk.

If you can get the linking working I'll get on it. (Yes, it looks like it is still broken at the moment)

Run a Bitcoin node, support the network.

Integrating bitcointa.lk to my account here always seems to take forever.

Well, yes, it's probably gonna take a little bit short of forever until when I decide to fix it.

(Sorry, but I have other priorities. I will finish this other project I'm working on sooner or later).

Could also fix these SSL problems https://www.ssllabs.com/ssltest/analyze.html?d=bitcointa.lk
LibreSSL works well with Ubuntu as a drop in replacement if that's your server software https://github.com/libressl-portable/portable just build the official tarball, make install and don't even need to edit nginx configuration since Libre ripped out all insecure ciphers and SSLv3.

Thank you, it was really a painless process.

Leaving deleted information is not optimal, but everyone should take care with any information they post online. Assume that everything you do is recorded in one way or another.

I'd hate to revive an old thread but it seems that Bitcointa.lk is no longer being maintained. As others have said, the latest posts have inconsistent dates with some boards showing that the newest topics were made in August 2014 while others showing January 2015. I never used it as my primary forum but after the recent BCT downtime and loss of posts, I figured a mirror is always nice to have.

Also, the site brings up a "This Connection Is Untrusted" error when opening for the first time:

Clicking on "I Understand the Risks" lets you access the forum but it could still turn a lot of people away. There doesn't seem to be a non-https version.

The SSL certificate expired and I didn't have time or will to update it yet. And no, the project is not dead. I'm waiting for thermos and his move, that should be here by now (since that it was promised by the end of February).

Keep in mind that you still need an additional certificate because the traffic is only encrypted up to the point of CloudFlare's servers Wink

Yeah, but someone would have to hack cloudflares servers to be able to access the data right? (or your server).

And btw, usually in their setups the client to cloudflare communications are encrypted, but the cloudflare to backend ones are not. So it's basically only making it simpler for the government to listen to it, by centralising it.
