It's a long year of a process to finally see the Bitcoin price reach at this stage. As the years are passing by Bitcoin too is slowly gaining some popularity and adaptation to almost all other countries. That's why it has gained such price that most skeptic people wouldn't believe it would happen and guess what, they were full of regrets and now trying to hodl some bags of shitcoin instead of Bitcoin.

October 18th, 2013, started up KNC Jupiter BTC Miner!

BTC sometime that day was $150 even when I looked.

I think I made 1 BTC a day!

Five years ago, I was pretty sure it would be at least 5 years until Bitcoin would go from around $650 to 10x that amount to $6,500.

I have been 'utterly wrong' on what is going to happen next in crypto and Bitcoin with almost 100% certainty, since that day in 2013.

What can I say it is a skill I have, panic sell when I should HODL or sell low and buy high

things to do

I bet this will repeat in the coming years, few times. Like..
OH, Why did I not bought BTC in 2019...OH, Why did I not bought BTC in 2020....OH, Why did I not bought BTC in 2022...

And then, maybe, it buys the top of actual cycle  Wink

This post make me Laugh and Cry at the same time.
I am laughing at me and Crying for my wrong decisions.
But what mistake we do if we repeat the same we are fool but if we learn something out of that mistake we will grow.
I have learnt a lot in this Crypto journey of almost a Decade. Don't want to live fool because we have a great future.
Some time watching transaction on localBitcoin i realize that i have sold Bitcoin @140/BTC
Could make me multi millionaire now but situations and time which were not in our hands we can't do anything
Now situations and time both are in our hands and by 2025 or 2030 I won't be one to say "I F**** sold BTC when it was around 10K" when there will be same kind of post when bitcoin will be in 6 Figure of 7 Figure

When I got my first BTC from Localbitcoins in January 2017, the exchange rates were still below $1,000 per coin. I don't remember the exact price, but I guess it was somewhere around $900. I paid a premium of 5%, so the end price was $950. I still remember the nervousness I felt while making the investment, but now I feel that I should have purchased more coins back then.

Wwll, that is the beauty or curse of Bitcoin, depends how you put it. Volatility, sonetines plays for you and sometimes against you. When I got into Bitcoin the price was around 600$. Of course, now I wish I would have bought more but I couldn't know how the situation will develope.

I sold my first bitcoin for $200. Life is good for me since I know for bitcoin, I`m here for a long time. I`m imagining what will happen in next 10 years, will we look back at this times and say how we could buy/sell bitcoin for just $10k?
I think I could save much more bitcoin than I have now. But I had great time with earning bitcoins and later spending them for things I like. This is a growing economy, don`t just hold, try to use some amount for something you like, help bitcoin economy to grow, learn others how to do the same, it`s how we got here and it`s how we can continue to grow.

If we do the right decision in the early days, we might be holding a lot of money with our bitcoin now.
When we are earning and we don't have much other source of income, we will be tempted to sell our bitcoin especially when we see that the price is improving.

There's a lot of people I know who wish that they bought BTC when it was still at 1 usd but I know if they can go back in the past, they would not make a decision to hold until now, that time there are still fear that bitcoin might fail and only those who really have high faith on BTC are enjoying the reward now.
There are some of us that did not even get the opportunity to even get to know bitcoin then, maybe if we had known bitcoin, then we would have bought already, as at 2010, I learnt that bitcoin was even 0.008 usd and imagine how many thousands of bitcoin that $1000 would have bought?

But, we cannot blame ourselves because the opportunity just did not come at that time, but now that we still have the privilege and the opportunity to speak of same story in future when bitcoin becomes highly expensive with 100 percent stability, we should just see this current value as a cheap one and then just try to start accumulating as much as we really can before that time. I believe then, we will also have a story to tell also.

Haha, it's better to invest, maybe volatility will play with you. For me there is no reason not to buy bitcoin right now, even though price is already very high, no one really predicted that yesterday's ATH price was the highest, it could be 10x more in future.

If volatility is against you, I don't think it needs to be over-thought even though it hurts but this is an investment, we must be able to bear any risk. So I mean, I will invest in what I truly believe without doubt and vice versa.

When I purchased my first coins, the price was in single digits (in 2012). I paid a premium of around 10% though. Immediately after I purchased my coins, the prices started going up (a reason may be the block reward halving of 2012). After 6 months, there was a major bull run, that took Bitcoin from $10 per coin, to $250 per coin. Another bull run later that year took Bitcoin to ATH of $1,250 per coin.

But what is the point in talking about those times? People who didn't knew about Bitcoin back then may say that had they been knowledgeable about the cryptocurrency, then they could have purchased it. People like me are not happy either. Rather than purchasing 15 coins, I could have gone for 150 or even 1,500. That could have made me a millionaire now.

Those were the days, although I joined later, but those early years are still a trying times and we really don't know what's going to happen years later. Even in 2017, the price is still cheap and no one thought that before the end of that year, bitcoin will have it's all-time-high.

But what is the point in talking about those times? And perhaps you are not in this community,  Grin. And that's what excite investors nowadays, because if you look at bitcoins past, we have a big chance to be millionaires in the future.

For $651~ you could of got yourself a shiny whole bitcoin on coinbase plus their $6.66 fee.
I wouldnt of mind paying this fee on top regardless.
Even if they were asking 10% of the purchase amount at the time which is probably more by now. Wink

That was the sad thing for me because i didn't discover bitcoin during the value is so affordable. I really missed it. Lucky those who buy that time that the price of one bitcoin is so cheap 5 years ago and sell during the all time high last year 2017.
Even more sad if you already know bitcoin are cheaper than that price. but stupidly you do not save bitcoin for the long term. Thats is me, I bought bitcoin at the beginning of 2013's while the price was still around $300, stupidly I don't think to save for the future Sad

Yes, someone has already missed his chance, someone else will miss it. That is life. At the same time, we have much to come. Bitcoin will rise and fall many times in its price. However, you should always remember about the possible risks in cryptocurrency. It is necessary not only to jump on time to the outgoing train, but also to get off it in time.

Bitcoin back in April 2013 was around 260 dollars and then there was a crash in the same month as a result of which Bitcoin dropped to less than $160. So yes it was very cheap back then and anyone who had invested in the coin back then would have made big money. Even today the coin is of great use and ten years from now we will talk how cheap it was in 2029.
The same case would happen on next 10 years? I guess not. I'm not saying we wouldn't head up there but nothing is certain.
With current trend on regulation matters, I would see the path of some sort of sideways movements.Reaching prices on spike behavior cant
really be seen that much.

I wish I had known BTC into those earlier years but the sad fact that even to those days I cant still possibly purchase a whole bitcoin.

these kind of memory only brings pain and regret not because I didn't buy it but I can't afford it at the time. but in 2017 when I saw the price keep rising fast
I decided to buy some bitcoin it wasn't a whole bitcoin but a quarter of it and at the end of the year I made at least 500% of income. I'm sure a lot of people made
a lot of money that year.

You are spot on. There is no point in dreaming about scenarios such as "What could have happened, if I had purchased 100 BTC back in 2011" or "What could have happened, if I had purchased 2,000 BTC back in 2010". If you want to get rich, invest in Bitcoin right now. It may not be possible to get 100x or 1,000x returns anymore, but you are guaranteed a positive return.

When I first joined this forum in 2012, a saw a lot of threads from people who were saying that they could have purchased the coins in 2010 from New Liberty Standard, where the exchange rates were roughly 1,300 BTC for 1 USD. Those who moved on and invested then (at approx. 10 USD per coin) got more than 100x returns by the end of next year.

No doubt that 2017 was the best year of our lives, it's the first bull run I witness and I was able to cash out a lot of profit that time that I already enjoyed now. I was able to possess things with the money I earned, that's combine from my trading activities and some bounty jobs that time.

I wish it will come back again but I know it could take time, so it's just a matter of time and I need to stay patient.

2017 is really a great stage and almost everyone earns a very high profit through crypto activities and converts into bitcoin but unfortunately, that phase is gone, I also hope that the light will return as you say but the air in the market is probably too disappointing although bitcoin has risen as expected. Altcoin is a place for us to make a profit in the past, right now it has become a swamp and locks our feet, bitcoin is like a burden on our shoulders, we are just sinking deeper and almost unable to breathe

As 2017 was the best year of your life, so is 2017 was the worst year for me because greed really dealt with me hands down, and it has been long have been hearing that experience is the best teacher, this one really taught me a lesson, and it was out of that experience that I learnt never to be greedy again. I watched my token grow so high to the extent of watching it dump because I failed to remove them thinking they are going to a point of no return where they will make me the next bill gate of our time.

Since that time. I have never been myself, and 2018 did not even try also , as if ICOs were sent to punish me, majority of the ICO’s that I participated in are still there now in the market refusing to enter an exchange, but I know that another 5 years of me in cryptocurrency would never be the same again.
