Sadly, our canadian friend of the politics space has done his time, I think it's time for another moderator... It's a great opportunity for Flying Hellfish to explore other venture and grow personally...

Generally, his has become way too politically implicated to provide an impartial moderation.

Specifically, his latest post deletion, because the editor of vanity fair having erased and article about weinstein/pedogate was canadian, and our proud defender of the northern state took it badly... it's so childish...

at least that's my feedback !

I made a post kind of exposing cdn farmers and what they spray on the crops and water they use (which would only make us look bad) and he merited it not blocked it, he does not seem to biased other than his "impeach 45" but moderators are allowed to have personal views, I don`t see him abusing his powers personally, also Canada is not a northern "state" brother. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WVC677-YmfM We have provinces and territory`s not states.

There is other mods that actually do abuse their powers, he is not one of them.

The block function becomes a ban function, when you give tyrants power. Who are they to judge, it is alright for all the people the banned and silenced, they will do it to themselves in the next life and see why they have no power there.

My account was banned because of the leaks of this site to, not because I broke any rules. Although before it got shadow banned because of the time mining/fair distribution/end of mining of bitcoin post (I think the title "end of bitcoin" I could of worded better) and I had to appeal to get it unbanned.

That would also defeat the purpose of conversation. While some people are obnoxious and annoying they sometimes have an interesting different viewpoint. Majority voting is not the best solution for free speech.

Innocent until proven guilty, let people post what they want, let a mod flag it and put it up to vote for removal and if the majoirty has spoken in a 24 hour timed poll. If 51% say remove it, remove it.

I do see why some things are needed to be removed instantly (porn etc) but yah, some of the stuff getting removed or users getting removed is just because a mod gets butt hurt about what is said and that is the damn truth.

TLDR: if you are a mod use "block", not "ban" and not "remove".

The Unofficial list of (official) Bitcointalk.org rules, guidelines, FAQ are actually remarkably easy to follow and avoids post deletion. Other than the occasional error made when moderating I have not seen consistent abuse of power.

^ you may have not seen it, but I have experienced it, and if you read a lot of peoples views on bitcoin talk, there is many people who feel the same way, violated of their freedom of speech, many even calling this forum hijacked and cult like.

Well how it would work it`s the majority of active voters. Although without the blockPOP I speak of (proof of person/population) before blockstream yoinked and dubbed the abbreviation something else (a week after I coined the term) people would just make multi accounts. That is why we need blockPOP to identify 1 account to 1 person *we don`t need to identity the person publicly the system can do it in private*

So if those 20 active voters voted to remove a law or a post, and 51% of them voted yes, even though there is a network of 200,000 users, It would still pass. People will start voting if there is rewards(those rewards being what we pay politicians as now we all are politicians), and if they see the active voters are fucking the system up I am sure they will become active.

Anyways, going to stop posting here before I get banned for another 14 days for multi posting for having a conversation with someone.

I think Flying Hellfish did a brilliant job in cleaning up the political board, but I don't visit it very much. It seems to be  more focused on the daily machinations of the minor players, rather than the more serious issues. I have tried to start a few threads, but they seem to be ignored by most readers. Topics such as the activities of the Five Eyes group, and the fact that Iran was one of the countries that helped the US to replace the Pound Sterling with the Dollar as the world's reserve currency, don't seem to garner much interest.

You are protected from legal repercussions when you express your views, not protected from having your posts deleted on a forum.  Your freedom ends where the freedom for people who find you annoying and don't want to listen to you begins.

And for the thread as a whole, still yet to hear a single compelling argument as to why FH should be removed as a mod.  It also wouldn't surprise me if some of the accounts calling for removal of their mod powers were sockpuppets.

I get at least a couple per day so I can just imagine how much global moderators, and admins actually get. I only really respond if I actually remember dealing with it. I don't think users realize how many reports there are, and we don't actually remember every report we deal with.
