Wish we could have some sort of automated "Price Dump Protection system" to stop whales from holding the rest of us to ransom. This is why I  kind of like the idea of premine and setting aside some amount cryptocurrency for future development of a crypto project.
Maybe about 20% (which hopefully grows to millions in the future) of the coin could be set aside for dump protection. Once a whale tries to crash the price, the system automatically buys up most of the whales coins and reduce the effect of the dump to the barest minimum. If some bullish whales later buy some million pf dollars worth of that coins, the automated system directly sell about 20% of its holding to the whales and this is repeated to keep the market healthy.

According to NIST and ECRYPT II, the cryptographic algorithms used in Bitcoin are expected to be strong until at least 2030. (After that, it will not be too difficult to transition to different algorithms.)

This sounds more like fiat to me than decentralized crypto. That is what governments are doing. If the value of fiat is going down, they take out their reserve gold and pump up their fiat. I do not think we want that in crypto. As much as I do not like whales dumping on us, I do not like a centralized body controlling the price as well.

No, this is what some foolish governments do to their fiat, its called (dirty) floating bands, and it doesn't work. You shouldn't fear the market, this is Bitcoin not some little altcoin, it cannot be crashed anymore, no matter how much and how hard you dump, others will flock to buy it at those cheap prices even faster, because bitcoin is that valuable to people (that even countries are putting their reserves into).

An Austrian economist would tell you: The best thing to do (regarding intervening), is do nothing. Let them do whatever they please. Its their lose and our gain. Don't fear the free market embrace it.

Oh, and such thing as "whale alerts" do exist, i have seen it in Telegram and some other social media (Twitter?). There are bots constantly monitoring the blockchain to give out those alerts.

As far as Bitcoin is concerned, whatever people are willing to give or not for it, none of its concern. The code has nothing to do with what arbitrary price the  market assigns bitcoin. This is remarkable, and even more reason to make it valuable.

In fact, your suggestion would subtract value. Why would Bitcoin be tied to whatever non bitcoin thing there is? This is outside Bitcoin realm. Also think, just what is much, what is little? In the beginning 10k BTC bought two pizzas, that would be considered a whale movement today, you expect the code to distinguish between now and then, exactly how?

What can we do about the Craig Wright who is again threatening to sell 821,050 bitcoin next year? This is just ridiculous as he is probably causing the bitcoin price to be weak as he spreads this story.
https://ibb.co/3zSB2rw

Not sure how to post the image.

He has have the rights to sell it all with no words coming out of his mouth , what's the purpose of discussing his sentiments to other people , he just making people chaos , bitcoin will survive even missing one person since more  interested people coming up here .

It's just another stunt coming from him since the last the attention he got from his last publicity stunt is diminishing. he can threat all he wan't
but the image he has in the bitcoin community will not change he will always be a satoshi wannabe. also there's nothing we can do if he want to sell all his bitcoin.

Don't worry, there is so many buyers waiting to by the dip, it will be bought up!

Nope, you are wrong, there aren't that many buyers. However,I'm 100% sure that Faketoshi doesn't have 820,000 bitcoins. He probably has 800,000 BSV of whatever forked altcoins they had(I don't even remember the names of all the BCH forked shitcoins). There's nothing wrong to sell them and dump their price. Grin

i also seriously doubt if he has that much of either BSV or BCH. not only because it still costs a lot of money to have that much amount of these altcoins but also because these coins are clearly without a good long term future and the creators of them know it better than any of us. mainly they made these coins to make money from them not to have the coins!
in fact i believe that they use these coins to pump then take the profit and invest it back in bitcoin...

That would be a good thing if he does. If someone is really thinking, releasing big amount of Bitcoins right now is quite a good idea.

Now that mining and other means to get Bitcoin are having a hard time to acquire Bitcoin. I think it will be better if it will be owned by many and can freely circulate on the market. If one person has the control then it is a disadvantage I think. I am one of the people who are excited to buy if this true.

That's it, let him sell if he really has it.
So maybe he has it?   Huh
I'm confused now. We know is a scammer and is not satoshi, so how can he have that many bitcoin?
Don't be confused, it isn't really a big deal if he has it or not. He can sell at his own will because if he really has it, then who are we to stop him. I'm not knowledgeable about his bitcoin career but maybe he's one of the miners and/or bought during the early days.

Believe in the fundamentals of bitcoin. He can FUD all he wants, but the price will be strong. If he sells, then there is more opportunity for us to have bitcoin at a lower price. The price will recover from it.
Right, there are investors who are waiting to buy at the dip so if it's real that he's about to dump massive bitcoin then expect that it will rise afterwards.

I think, you are not alone in this. Many people are always there, waiting for buying cheap BTC. For this reason Bitcoin starts rising after dropping to a certain level instead of going more down and to zero eventually. That's why calling Bitcoin a ponzi scheme is wrong. No ponzi scheme can survive after dropping 80% in price of the shares, but Bitcoin has survived many of similar drops.

So, Craig Wright can't scare people, even he has(or will have access to) that amount he claims, because it's already too late for killing Bitcoin with dumping 1 million BTC on the market. Maybe 10 million BTC would do the job, but who can have that much?

You should know one thing .
There is no way that he is holding that much bitcoins.
The government actually asked him, he failed to be able to present it in court .
Therefore there is no way he can influence the market that much.
Don't be scared , it's just bluff and am pretty sure that people who follow this market through does know that there is nothing that be could actually do.
No one will knowing sell their coins when they are in a loss.

Maybe he is trying to create FUD to lower Bitcoin prices, and he can own more Bitcoin at the lowest price. I think it's a scenario that he wants to build us. I believe it's just a lie. Everyone is calm because many whales own more Bitcoin than he does.

Of course he is not holding so much Bitcoins and he can't influence market or anything else the way he claims he could. Just empty stories of another so called Bitcoin ecpert and people should not fall for that. We see too much such attempts and the sad thing is that there are always some who would fall for that and people like that will reach their goal.

Frankly speaking nobody can hold such amount of BITCOIN and even though the individual hold such and really want to sell out in the name of distorting the community, there are still demands for Bitcoin from the government and large investors, so, he will end up achieving nothing at the end and blame his action. In Bitcoin we trust our freedom and transparency, its too late for anybody to think that he or she can harm BITCOIN.

Exactly why we need to worry, so,if he have a lot of bitcoin and he decide to sell it nobody can stop him what he want for their bitcoin.

The more this man talks, the more his reputation level goes down. The more he expresses insistence about his being Satoshi, the more he looks insane. This threat is nothing but a vivid implication of his desperation, both as a Satoshi wanna-be and as a marketer for the helpless BSV. First and foremost, does he have any indubitable proof that he really has this huge amount of Bitcoin?

That's right more talk more mistakes and nobody believes that he is the real satoshi nakamoto because of their prostration become a real satoshi amd he destroy their self reputation.

Right, not only that he looks insane but he looks very desperate for attention and to be recognized Satoshi. This threat is I think just to say he is really Satoshi because he has this amount of btc and ofcourse for people to get scared and make the price of bitcoin go down even more. It's just sad for Craig Wright because bitcoin holders already that he is a liar so I don't mind it so much.

Nobody can trust for the liar like craig wright, I think we need to ignore all he want to tell against bitcoin.

Talk is cheap, show us the money

I assume that in this case he should first prove that he actually owns so many bitcoins and only then turn to threats of selling them all. Until then, whatever he spits out should be taken with an 800-pound bag of salt as all his words have been just empty threats so far. The longer he reiterates his hogwash, the less weight what he says will have. But personally, I think he is already well past the point where he can still be taken seriously. Long story short, nothing to discuss here

Nobody can trust for the liar like craig wright, I think we need to ignore all he want to tell against bitcoin

What we are dealing with here is an attention whore and drama queen

Trust me, he will not sell the Bitcoins.  This statement is only to create the panic among the Bitcoin community so that they may sell at the current prices. For sure he will buy the Bitcoin cheap  and also remember that next year is halving year so the bitcoin prices will not go down from here onwards.

Another statement that may shake some negatrons. Lol. We can just ignore him, talking again nonsense to make a fud. Those who believe him will definitely follow his steps and will feel fear. But remember that he is an attention seeker, claiming he is Satoshi and leaving useless statements. If he owns those huge amount of bitcoin or not, it is not important anymore. The halving event next year will occur. Nothing to worry about.
