New Zealand already started batting and Devon Conway and Tom Latham both are out by Dane Paterson and Tshepo Moreki. It suppose to be, SA nicely bowling on a good length as well as holding its line. Till now, team new Zealand total runs are 58-2. Currently Rachin Ravindra and Kane Williamson are on batting. They both are excellent players and people have expection from youngster Rachin Ravindra. Hope they both will make decent score.

I think the first Test between New Zealand and South Africa is starting in an exciting way. Sri Lanka's middle order batsmen Angelo Mathews and Chandimal managed to score 410 runs at the end of the second day, losing 6 wickets. These two batsmen played brilliantly. Mathews was dismissed with 141 runs and Chandimal scored 107 runs.

However, the performance of Afghanistan's batsmen as well as bowlers is also very poor. Next day Sri Lanka will probably be able to collect 40-50 runs very easily. Sri Lanka team has already taken a big lead of 212 runs. If the Sri Lanka team takes a lead of more than 250 then it is likely that Afghanistan will be defeated by an innings margin. However, it will be difficult for Afghanistan to collect 200 runs in the second innings.

You are right, Sri Lanka can win by an innings margin. Because Afghanistan were all out for 198 runs in the first innings. Afghanistan batsmen cannot perform well in Test format. Sri Lanka have so far scored 410 runs for the loss of 6 wickets which they lead by 212 runs. I think it will be difficult for Afghanistan to score 212 runs. The first match of the two-match Test series is underway today. New Zealand is batting in the first innings and now the second session is underway. Tshepo Moreki did well to trap Devon Conway LBW in the second over when New Zealand came into bat. Williamson & Latham tried to make a big partnership in the second wicket pair but could not make much progress, Latham got out after team total 39 runs. Rachin Ravindra and Kane Williamson are batting in the third wicket partnership so far, they are continuing to bat with a partnership of 76 runs so far. Indians should not be complacent this time and bat out England from the match, we still have 3 full days left so at a minimum they should bat 3 sessions.

Last time England made a comeback despite lagging in the match for the first 2 days and they are high on confidence so no score is safe with this England team, pitch deteriorates or not.

Yashsasvi Jaiswal played a brilliant innings of 209 runs in the first innings against England. In the first innings India totaled 396 where Yashsasvi Jaiswal collected 209remaining 9 batsmen collected 187. One's personal collection is 209 and all others have collected 187. It is said that cricket does not require 10 players to bat well.  

On the second day, India were all out and England were out to bat in their first innings and on the same day England were all out and India were out to bat again. That means we are almost halfway through the game on the third day. India started to perform badly in the first test match but from this position it must be kept in the mind of the Indian batsmen. With no wickets lost so far, India will try to keep wickets at the start of the third day and build a big partnership which will set a big target for England.

In the first innings, Indian batsmen and Indian bowlers have been able to perform their duties properly. It cannot be said that all the batsmen have performed their duties properly, but overall the score that India has scored is a fairly good score for this wicket. The challenge ahead for the bowlers is that they have to bowl better against England in the second innings and the batsmen must try to bat better than they did in the first innings. As India finished the first innings slightly ahead of England and came in to bat in the second innings as India have not lost a wicket so far, India will be expected to put up a big score in the second innings so that the target against England will be bigger. They proved that England can make difficult equations easy in the first match, so even if they finish ahead in the first innings, India has no chance to take England easily.

It was kind of life saving innings for Gill, his first 50 in 7 tests. Indian survived first innings because of Jaiswal 209 runs. To retain his slot in test, Gill to play an innings like that. India lead at the moment is 273 runs and to make it to safe zone they need to score 127 more runs, so England have to chase 400 runs target. Unless India make some silly mistakes, its nothing to worry for them.

Gill survived and he is doing well compared to what he did earlier. Axar and Gill should get into a good partnership and add another 150 runs to the existing lead. The current lead is 287 runs and if they can play a full day today then the lead will go beyond 400 runs, if not then at least another 150 runs will do. Patidar being unlucky or not will be decided by the coach and the captain as of now things are not going in his favour and especially very bad for Iyer. This is the third time that he has got out so cheaply in this test series.

India managed to collect only 60 runs on the second day, ending India's first innings at 396 runs. Jaiswal scored his sixth match double century in his Test career today. Apart from Jaiswal's individual innings of 209 runs, no batsman could make any advantage for the team. England are batting in the second innings, England's score is 155/4 at the moment. Despite scoring fifty runs in the first and second wicket pairs, Jasprit Bumrah quickly took the wickets of Ollie Pope and Joe Root and sent them to the dressing room. Stokes and Bairstow batting may put England under pressure if their wicket break is not prolonged. If India can break the fifth wicket partnership quickly I think India can start the second innings with a lead of over 100 runs.

This is not a time for Jaiswal, he was out at 17 runs but I think that this time Shubman Gll do something, he is a moody player if Shubman Gill wants to play so they play like no one can play like this and when he didn't want to play so he also play like no one can play much poor than him, while in the first innings of the Indian team, Jaiswal made 209 runs which was a very good motivation for him to start his career and in second innings, he was out by Anderson and by the way in the first innings, he was also out by Anderson. Jaiswal age is equal to the Anderson career in test cricket.

By the way, the Indian team now lead by 321 runs and they have enough time and wickets in hand to take the lead close to 500 runs and then declare the innings. I do not think England will be able to chase this big target set by the Indian batsmen. Also keep an eye on Shubman Gill's probable century, he is on 88 not out now.

Shubhman Gill at last reached his century after a long bad batting streak. This century would give him a confidence boost and would help him regain back his lost form. Thanks to one lifeline that he got earlier he utilized it to the fullest to get to the position he was aiming for earlier. India has a good lead of 344 runs after losing 4 wickets earlier. Both Gill and Patel now have a good partnership and if they continue in the same manner the lead would be above 400 runs.

India 201-4, 6 wickets still left and already a lead of 344 runs, I think we can expect minimum 100 more runs here, so England gets around 450 target. That is going to be a huge total, and they might be already hopeless when they come to the crease, India bowling isn't smooth sail either even in absence of Shami, Jadeja and Siraj.
