Can you clarify which match you are talking about since you are claiming that they played well, are you even talking about their Bangladesh tour. Last 3 Test matches against Pakistan, Bangladesh won, so it is not just a careless performance that led to their defeat, it is constant good performance by Bangladesh.

Everyone is criticising shaheen afridi but no one notice that between 2020-26 he has bowled over 1600 overs It is not just the highest in Pakistani team but I think it is the highest workload in the world I think our system is not managing his workload or giving him a proper break You can see the result after his 2022 injury his speed dropped  from 145 to 135 or 130 If we give him two months off to train in England I think he will come back bowling fast and swinging the ball again

During the 2025–26 Ashes series, Mitchell Starc bowled a total of 153.1 overs. This is just in one format, and one series. Compared to this 300 is not that extraordinary. What makes his figures stand out is the fact that other bowlers (esp. Naseem Shah and Haris Rauf) bowled too less overs, since they were not selected for all the matches. And it is strange that not even a single spinner made it to the top-3 list. And Pakistan is the country which in the past produced legendary spinners such as Saqlain Mushtaq.

Problem is that PCB and even players want to feature in every useless bilateral, doesn't matter if it's against b team or lower rank teams. In contrast top rated bowlers only prioritise tests/ ICC tournaments and skip white ball bilaterals voluntary and this never happens under PCB.

In the last few years, the PCB has been running without any solid strategy or vision. They are doing things that are not helping them or their players, even though they have enough resources but are still not making the right decisions.
This is hurting them. They need to have a strong domestic setup with good chances for players in all formats. ICC events are not coming quickly, but they can work out on their domestic.
This will also increase their income and also be beneficial for players, but who cares? Political influence and personal ego always have problems here with no professional approach from any stakeholder.

A chest injury has ruled Bangladesh opener Shadman Islam out of the second Test against Pakistan beginning on Saturday in Sylhet. Zakir Hasan has been called up as his replacement.

Shadman, who scored 13 and 10 in the first Test, suffered the injury when he took Salman Ali Agha's catch on the fifth day in Mirpur. He celebrated briefly before collapsing on the ground at the Shere Bangla National Stadium and was immediately taken off the field. He didn't return for the rest of the game, which Bangladesh won by 104 runs to take a 1-0 lead in the two-Test series.Zakir, also a left-hand opener, has played 13 Tests, averaging 23.72 with a century and four fifties. He played his last Test in the West Indies in November 2024.

It isn't about Mirpur only. You will see a dramatic change of the pitch condition in most of the venues from day 3 or 4. There are a lot of factors which make the pitch condition difficult for the batsmen. It wasn't a good decision from Pakistan as they decided to field first after winning the toss. The next match will be played in a different venue. I think it will be good to bat first in that venue as well.

Beating Pakistan has never been guaranteed because the team is well settled and now good because Pakistani cricket history is full of worst defeats against poor countries like Zimbabwe in tests and Ireland in ODIs.
They are having many internal issues just because of this, and they have never been consistent. In the current team, many players do not deserve spots, but they are having spots, while Shaheen Afridi is not good enough for the test format but still has a spot, while a few others are also not performing, and their spin department is also one of the worst.
 This is always hurting them, but they fail to fill this even though they have a few quality spinners in their domestic setup. I am expecting the same level of performance in the second test as well, which is going to start tomorrow.

When Mehidy Hasan Miraz delivered a googly, he understood it and played it on the back side, but bad luck prevented a connection between the bat and the bowl, but there was one between the ball and the wickets.

It can be a factor but Bangladesh defeated Pakistan in their home soil in Test when Babar Azam was in the team and he scored 64 runs in 4 innings and he was struggling against Nahid Rana.

Completely agree with the statement of declining talent, there was a time when Pakistan produced world class fast bowlers and batsmen, the current struggle might be due to political influence and poor talent management

During the time of Imran Khan, he used to scout for young talent. That is how the world got to see Wasim Akram, who was a net bowler from a local club who was assigned for the team to practice for the upcoming New Zealand tour and Imran Khan selected him for the New Zealand tour and the rest is history and the same happened with Waqar Younis, he was picked after Imran Khan watched him in a domestic match and immediately included in the Pakistan team.
