These two are loser teams. Sri Lanka, the world champions of 1996 get bowled out for two digit scores against quality opposition. Bangladesh is where they were ever since they got the test status in 1999. I really appreciate the fact that there is rivalry between these two teams. They are doing a great service to international cricket by playing against each other and thereby avoiding lop-sided matches (which would happen whenever they play against quality opposition such as India, Australia or South Africa).

Yes currently Bangladesh and Sri Lanka match is full of excitement. Sri Lankan players trolled the entire Bangladesh team after winning the T20I series against Bangladesh to protest against which Bangladesh trolled Sri Lanka after winning the ODI series. And I do not agree that Bangladesh is in the same place where they were in 2000. Bangladesh had a really good time from 2014 to 2019. Now all the great players are either retiring or not regular players. So this is a transitional period.

For you to say that both themes are loser teams means that you only want to see great teams play cricket. I am not saying that is a problem. Everyone wants to see good cricket be played. But if you want to see good cricket be played in every single match you will have to only watch the top 4 teams play against each other. And I can assure you that even those matches sometimes will be one sided. To improve the popularity of cricket and improve cricket in itself you will have to give chances to these teams. And at this stage when 90% of viewers of cricket are Indian it is a good idea to have other rivalry going on except from the top 4 teams.
