Believe it or not, Cricket is losing its colour day by day because of some incident, I think the four countries are the most responsible for this reason, not only that but also some political decision is also playing a negative role in this regards, especially, in the subcontinent, India, and Pakistan are both playing a nasty game with Cricket. It's a popular game in the subcontinent but this BCCI and PCB are not trying to enhance their relation, these two are always playing a blame game. BCCIC and PCB both try to follow their government's decision and they are not separated from politics. so it's looking an ugly shape for me.

The political rift between Indian and Pakistan and their cricketing board is nothing new. After the Mumbai attack in 2008 there was no match between them unless there is an ICC tournament, the political system has major influence in cricket and they will only ban cricket matches while the rest of the matches like Hockey and other games are conducted without much issue. These kind of restrictions were in effect during the Kargil war too and if we look further back there was a ban during the war in 1962 too. So this is nothing new for the cricketing world  . Personally i would like to see them play in neutral grounds and not to mix politics with sports.

I sure you are not understanding what is he trying to say but surely he is right and its really hurting cricket too much specially after IPL as now Indian cricket board is feeling they are very powerful and can play any ugly political game so they are trying their best and ICC is just a puppet so they cannot do any positive thing for saving cricket and its beauty.

Actually, Pakistan and India not hosting any series against each other ain't something new; it has been like this for the last full decade. Other than these two not facing off each other, I don't think that there's anything to worry about and anything related to cricket "losing its colour day by day".

Plus, @iwantapony said "four countries"; it'd be better if he mentions the name of the remaining two countries.

Totally agree with what Raja said. Just because two nations are not playing cricket doesn't mean that cricket is losing its colour. We don't get to see the IND vs PAK entertaining matches that often but we still have them face off against each other in Asian cup and World Cup stages.

I was not aware of that, may be Bangladesh never had a strong football team that could challenge India  . What was the reason for not playing for this long as i am not aware of any political difference between India and Bangladesh.

Once split and two different atmosphere and political identities and economics, it is better not to be one again.

The relation between the two nations have worsened a lot, and therefore it is no longer possible to conduct bilateral tours. Also, Pakistan is no longer hosting such tours, and currently the United Arab Emirates is acting as the home ground. But I don't understand how the bad blood between these two nations are impacting the global spread of the game.

Now this is a problem for the Pakistanis, as they are no longer allowed to participate in the IPL. Hilarious. If you followed Cricket matches regularly, you would never make this statement since Cricket is actually becoming more and more popular with time thanks to leagues like the IPL etc. Political problems almost always have a negligible impact in this sport.

On the other hand, it is negatively affecting the smaller nations (especially teams such as West Indies) by making their best players unavailable for the national duty. Individual players are benefitting a lot from IPL. For example, players such as Kieron Pollard and Andre Russell make from IPL more than 10 times the salary they receive from the WICB. This is good for them. But at the same time, it requires them to put the IPL duty at a higher preference when compared to the national duty.

I disagree. Its advantages outweigh its disadvantages. More fame, popularity, entertainment value etc is what IPL provides which is why every cricketer wants to be a part of it these days. For example, Bumrah was discovered through IPL and he is the top ranked bowler today.

Both Fakhar and Imam gave Pakistan a great opening score and I am expecting Azam and Sohail to continue piling on the runs. They will probably reach 300 and Sri Lanka might get bowled out within 250(Wild prediction).

Without Malinga in the squad, I don't see any bowler capable of dismantling the Pakistan squad rapidly. Hasaranga and Udana might pack them up, but they will still probably lose. Lets see what happens.

Have to agree with you that ultimately it is up to the player to decide whether he want to earn more and chose IPL, or to earn less and represent his nation. Another point that may give justification to what you posted is the fact that IPL is not the only big T20 league around the globe, and tournaments such as the GT20 of Canada and BBL of Australia have also "poached" players from the smaller nations. Also, IPL is far from the first tournament of that kind. Many years before the IPL was even thought of, players from South Africa and Zimbabwe were moving to England using the Kolpak rule. Now they are also losing a lot of players to Australia and New Zealand as well.

Perhaps you are right. Rather than blaming the IPL, we should be blaming the cricket boards (WICB, ZCB, CSA.etc).

I didn't expect this kind of performance from New SL bowlers. They are doing a tremendous job in restricting Pakistan's scoreboard under 5.75 runs per over. And this new guy Wanindu Hasaranga took both openers wicket, above 6 runs P/O economy rate but it's still terrific as far as Sri Lankans are concerned.

As of now 269/5 .... 3 overs to go.

Babar Azam looked good and scored at a good pace, but the other batsmen (including both Fakhar Zaman and Haris Sohail) looked very rusty. But the total should be enough for a win, as the Sri Lankan batting lineup is much more inexperienced when compared to their bowlers. They will find life really tough under the raw pace of Mohammad Amir and Wahab Riaz. I don't know much about Usman Shinwari, but this will be a good opportunity for him to cement a place in the playing XI.

Speaking of ODI Format, Came across ODI Fab 4 on the Interweb. it gives ans to your question too - Total run during chase- he's beast when chasing the target and crossing Sachin's record is easy peasy as far as Kohli concern.

Guess we need to update our list of Modern Greats in the Shorter format. Never doubted Babar's potential when it comes to Shorter format because he's damn good to watch in the ODI and T-20 but i really want him to succeed in Test Cricket also, otherwise he's another Rohit Sharma in my eyes.

After watching some good display of bowling from New Sri Lankan bowlers I was expecting good batting as well but they fail and Usman destroy them badly right now we have 10 overs 28 runs on board and 4 wickets gone look like big defeat is waiting for them in second ODI.
