They're done here. Rashid Khan was the last hope and he's gone too. Now they need 64 more, with just 2 wickets remaining. Mujeeb Ur Rahman and Sharafuddin Ashraf batting right now and I don't think that they can do much. And Naveen-ul-Haq is not very renowned for his batting skills either. Afghanistan had a chance, but they wasted it when they conceded so many runs in the final overs when West Indies was batting. A few good individual performances won't get them anywhere. They needs to start winning matches.

Afghanistan lost their 9th wicket and when they had a good partnership going for the 6th wicket i thought they had a chance to win the game but then West Indies was too good for them and unless they sort the batting issue they cannot win games against any teams in the top ten but they are good in T20 and they have the team to upset any team with the bowling line up they have.

Before that two-wicket, I thought  Afghanistan going chase target safely because they have still 5 wickets in hand but Afghanistan lost two important wickets in two balls that are the game-changing deliveries from west indies, then I come back in the game because I already placed a bet on the west indies with decent odds.

Looks like there was good odds for West Indies to win the match and you waited too long to wage a bet  .. Afghanistan is struggling in ODI as they are not having a good consistent batsman, they won a Test match against Bangladesh because one player performed well and the bowlers were good enough to pick the wickets but in both these ODI matches i did not see have any player who could bat longer and in this match there was one good partnership and when West Indies was able to pick that wicket then the match is over.

I have seen Afghanistan losing a lot many of the close matches, and even matches where they had an advantage. In this match, they had a good 6th wicket partnership going, with Najibullah Zadran and Mohammad Nabi taking them very close to the target. But after Najibullah Zadran got out to Cottrell, they collapsed like a peck of cards.

Although they have some very good world class spinners (Rashid Khan, Mujeeb Ur Rahman and Zahir Khan), in every other department they are quite average. They don't have a single world class batsmen, nor do they have any good pace bowlers. And the spinners may be able to give them some victories in the T20 matches, but for the other formats you need support from the batsmen and the pacers.

I didn't had much hope from Afghan batting when they were struggling at 118/5 but it seems to me they made a good comeback, thanks to Nabi who stood strong and gave good support to Asghar Afghan. At least they are close to very respectable score and if their spinners can make some sort of impact in this game despite Dew, then who knows...

I was bored and nothing much to do so I thought to get some excitements. The target is 250 which is not something that can not be achieved. I hope WI will make it and keep the winning continued.

I was checking the scores for a while but after 5 wickets, I didn't check even. Had placed a bet for WI to win but seems like they are gonna mess up and lose the match. It's 41/2 after 15 overs, RR is almost 6 now. Well, if Afghan can get some more quick wickets, they can get the match in their hand. WI is far away from win here.

Usually, I don't prefer to bet any of the match of- Pakistan, WI because their performance is very much volatile, in fact, more volatile than Bitcoin price. It's very risky to bet on. WI can win a match which is impossible, while Pakistan can loss a match which is so easy to win.

Well I was bored so if I lose the I will pay the price of stupidity. It's not okay to gamble when you are not in good mood. It's not just this, I have another bet on Tennis too :-P
Both was done at the same time. Then I went out to have a break and came back and saw WI lost 2 wickets for 4 runs or something :-D

Well they now got Pollard too. Still this match is alive and anyone can win from here. Both my bets in this match and in the tennis match are doing worse LOL.

In the tennis match Medvedev lost his first set :-( Hope he comes back in the send set and win from there.

I missed the entire match, i was not expecting an upset from Afghanistan because of their dismal performance throughout the tournament but Asghar Afghan and Nabi played a wonderful knock to take the team to a respectable total but Hope played a patient innings and scored a century to take the team to victory even though they lost two quick wickets at the start of the innings.

Hope ensured that the WI hope do not die if he had got out early Afghan would have got the match in their side and even would have won it . WI is a good side if all the players play as a team could beat the good teams too .

Some of the players are playing in the South African T20 league at present and you can see the full strength team when they are playing any major tournament, if not they will be happy with a second string team to face a team like Afghanistan.

Afghanistan need some good players who could bat for a longer period of time and that too with consistency and the entire series the Afghanistan players were struggling to put some runs on the board and the bowlers did their part but the batsman too perform if they need to win ODI matches, in T20 they might defeat the present West Indies team because they have power hitters and the bowlers are good enough to restrict a good total.

Now this new generation from West Indies is doing good and players like Pooran, Hope and Chase are really hard workers these can bring some good for this team but first of all Cricket board have to fix problems with players which are hurting them for some long time and just because of their policices many players are concentrating on leagues instead of National team.

And one thing that I noticed from yesterday's match was that Afghanistan went with just one pace bowler (Naveen-ul-Haq). 41 out of the 50 overs were bowled by the spinners. You can't become so over-dependent on the spinners. It is still OK (although not preferable) within the subcontinent, but abroad you can't go with such a bowling attack.

It is the top order that is failing again and again. The middle order (especially Mohammad Nabi and Asghar Stanikzai) is doing quite good. Ever since Shahzad was thrown out of the team, the top order has been in a state of flux. They have been persisting with Zazai, Shah and Ahmadi for quite sometime, but these players haven't delivered yet.
