If Ireland opening batsmen could have batted better they could have put up a stronger defense but Andrew Balbirnie was out for just 20 runs off 28 balls and Paul Stirling was out for just 2 runs. I see Ireland being very weak against South Africa who are not that strong of a team which Ireland are beating and this was the first match.  I was very hopeful that Ireland would win the match after a lot of difficulties but they didn't.  Although if you see, the target was 271 in 50 overs, if you know Ireland's performance, they could have achieved this target, but their batsmen played till 32 overs and the whole team was out and could score only 132 runs.  Their batsmen have been asked many times to perform well and work hard, but as strong a team as they used to be, they are weak.  Congratulations to South Africa for this win and their batsmen worked hard and won this match.

However doing well in one format of match does not mean they will do well in other format too. Ireland chances against South Africa in ODI are unclear. ODI are harder because they are longer. Ireland has struggled in ODI before so they might struggle again. But cricket is unpredictable and surprises can happen. Ireland might surprise South Africa again.

Ryan Batsman showed great effort in batting and he got a player of game award because he made 91 runs in 102 ball and hitted seven 4s and three 6s. Stubbs also performed great in bat and scoring 79 runs. First game was easily won by South Africa and I don't believe that Ireland team will one game in this series.
