Yep that's absolutely right india has finally adopted their typical behavior like Australians to beat each and every tough opponent back at their own home ground. England has already lost some of their important games in their recent T20 series and now even still they continue that defeat run in the ODI series too. It's completely friendly batting track, and some of their main Indian bowlers were not part of the squad, but still they were able to secure victory against England despite them scoring a fair target and also being able to successfully depart the Indian top order at a very early stage of the match. But the home ground gives them advantage to backed by their rest of the lineup, which results in victory in their favor, and it's for for me the game-changing innings has been played by Iyer and Gill in critical moments.

However, as god blessing they have Shubman Gill in the third number who scored 87 and also was the player of the match. Althorugh India chased the target in just 38th overs which is so good and I think if Virat Kohli would play this game then it will be more advantage for them in upcoming matches.

I don't think it's possible to win on this pitch by giving a target of just 249 runs. The pitch was not bowling friendly at all. Even then, England's batsmen couldn't do well. England needed to score at least 300+ to win against India on this pitch.

India are well placed in this match and i think they should win it from here. After a little bit of a shaky start, Shubman Gill and Shreyas Iyer played well. Iyer made 59 runs while Shubman Gill is still batting. The required run rate for the Indian team is less than 4 now. They don't need to do anything silly now and just focus on playing the full 50 overs and the game will be in their hand. The only way India can lose now if they lose some quick wickets.

Right now, you can get over 17 odds for England but that's not worth taking the risk.

In this situation, I don't see any possibility of a good result for the England team because they are in no way able to compete against India. Watching England play in the T20 series, it seemed like they were a much weaker team than India, and now after watching the ODI series, it seems like they are a much weaker than India.

Based on the performance of India's batsmen, we can say with certainty that if England cannot score more than 300 runs in an ODI against India, then they will never be able to win that match. It's a double edged sword and sometimes can come to haunt you. Things could've been tricky if India had lost Pandaya or Jadeja's wicket because you had 3 tailenders after that.

India always strong on there home ground like Australia and you need to perform exceptionally well in India to beat India. I didn't get the chance to see the match so have no idea about this pitch but overall wickets in India are usually flat and it's easy to score runs there. It's surprising to see England bowled out in 48th over for just 248, both spinners and pacers were getting equal success when England was batting which is quite unusual.

PCB recently have made spinner friendly pitches during England and West indies test series where it's extremely difficult to score runs. England lost the test series mainly due to spinning tracks in Pakistan.    

Why it is so difficult for England batsmen to play in sub-continental pitches, while Australia and New Zealand are doing much better? And a lot of England players do take part in the Indian Premier League, and therefore they have experience in playing in these sort of surfaces. Last time when England toured India (not talking about the current tour), their performance was quite poor as well. Maybe the ECB need to think about this, and encourage the England players to take part in domestic competitions within the subcontinent.

I was happy when he came out swinging his bat. Personal milestones are important for players, which i understand but the team should be a priority. Gill had enough time and run to play with.

India failed to win ICC tournaments even they are being held at the sub-continent. They maybe the strongest team, and BCCI is the richest board by some distance. But their performance during ICC tournaments has been pathetic. And one of the main reasons for this has been poor selection policies. Poor performers such as Shubman Gill and Rohit Sharma are being retained, while players such as Karun Nair and Abhimanyu Easwaran, who has been performing well in domestic cricket are being ignored.
