I don't see India good effort and hard work in this because their batsmen scored 233 runs and it was a very bad target in 44 overs which England batsmen can easily achieve and make the series interesting. But England batsmen are playing very carelessly they lost 2 wickets in 6 overs due to which this target can be tough for them. On one hand, you can trust the Indian team, their bowlers play very hard so there can be hope of success from their side but it also depends on England batsmen that if they are controlled by the Indian bowlers, they will lose this series today and this will end the hope of the series for England.  The way England's batsmen are playing and being careless in the beginning, the target of 233 will also become enough strong for their batsmen and this weak target will become a defeat for them.

I find it funny that so much hate is directed towards these two. It was under Virat and Rohit that India started winning matches abroad frequently (especially in SENA nations). And just one bad match, and everyone is baying for their blood. What about players such as Sanju Samson and Tilak Varma who fails in 90% of their matches? And one of the main reasons why India won was due to the presence of Jasprit Bumrah. He picked up only one wicket, but the pressure he created indirectly helped Prasidh Krishna and Gurnoor Brar to strike at regular intervals.

Despite losing first ODI, English team did well to score 258 runs despite the fact they lost 6 wickets for just 107 runs. Axer Patel picked 4 last wickets including the key wicket of Liam Dawson. This clearly indicates that Indian bowlers were not able to take advantage of picking 6 quick wickets and still allowed English team to score 258 runs. Axer Patel was rightly given player of the match award for picking 4 wickets and scoring a half century. Kohli and Sharma are dangerous batsmen and it's not correct to criticise them on just one bad innings.

England gave a big target to India because England had considered India mentally and physically weak that's why England bowlers did not pay much attention to bowling while India had returned to its previous form that why India showed strength and won this match by 6 wickets and 28 balls and put England in trouble.You are right that Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli could not score any special runs but the team won.Shubham Gill did a great job for India.If he had not retired injured he would have had the ability to score a long innings but still he helped the team by scoring 80 runs.The second match of the ODI series is underway in which India chances of winning are very low.Lets see what happens next.

I have a feeling that India's golden era is more or less over by now. Both Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma are close to retirement. Bumrah has 3-4 years left, but he is not as effective as he was a couple of years back. Younger players, both the batsmen and the bowlers are not performing at the same level as the senior players. And for some unknown reason, the management is sticking with failed players such as Washington Sundar and Shivam Dube. They gave Gurnoor Brar a chance to make his debut in this series, but he has been quite average. And it surprised me that he was given the chance ahead of many other deserving players.

Maybe a game in Indian conditions will bring back his form, Rohit didn't score big scores like he used to in the past but he always gave the destructive opening that really helped the middle order to chase any total, maybe the mess up in the IPL is still playing in his mind, but he is just one game away from regaining his form. It is clearly visible that he istaking care of his physique so just the tweak needed in the mindset.

Problem with indian cricketer is they don't want to retire voluntary and get humiliated by force retirement. He's touching 40 and still want to play and not ready to pass on responsibilities to younger generations.

Ideally he should've retired with dignity after 2023 odi wc so that team can nurture younger openers but no "PR selfless captain" just want to go on and on.
