Spain played so well, Argentina wasn't bad neither and they tried their best but Spain literally played their game without dropping off the system ever. That is what makes world cup so great, if you play your game then you win if you go off rails even once then you start to lose by a lot, that is why there is so much momentum and so many comebacks in fiba world cup, if you give the other team the ball and let them play their game, it is easy to get 18-4 run on you.

Spain didn't let that happen because they didn't left the rails ever and give Argentina a tough time all game. It is still such an awesome story for Argentina, Scola is 39 years old and he played so amazingly that you may think he is a great future NBA potential for a second. All around it was a great tournament, I have enjoyed it so much.

It's kind hard to accept if you lose your bets but still Spain has given us a nice game for the finals.

Yes..I think the match between Aussie and Spain is way even more of a finale than Argentina and Spain.   Moving on, Ricky Rubio is our finals MVP.

Quite interesting to see the list of MVPs. The latter part, most of them are superstars of NBA.

This final today is a rematch of the FIBA 2006 finals where on paper, Argentina has the edge and it's no brainer to think so because Pau Gasol is injured in the semis and can't play in the finals and he is the main man of the Spanish Squad but the result of the game is opposite to what many have expected, Spain dominated and dumped Argentina on that game. Argentina should have remember that moment and make that a motivation on this game today.

I am betting for Argentina (already had) as for me nobody has the edge. This might be a close game so i am putting some amount on the +5.5 handicap just in case. Good luck to us.

There were so many upset results in this tournament so far and it will be a great end to the tournament if there is another upset in the finals as well. None of the gambling sites are having odds in favor of Argentina, but their predictions were proved wrong many times. Both the teams are in great form, but Argentina has shown better team bonding and resilience so far.

Hope the final result of the Third place game and the final game was still another upset result for you because Spain has won the final game right before the game started through their countless direct knockout winning in this tournament was the reason why most betting site odds aare not in favor of the Argentine.

I stopped watching the game at the third quarter, sensing that Argentina could not win it anymore. That's basketball, our speculations won't happen all the time thus losing on our bets in the process, that's part of life though. Congrats to Spain and those who bet for them.

Spain showed more competent basketball than Argentina which is the key for them to win especially in rebounding department. The match up also make a difference which the Spain has an upper edge against the Argentinians.

To be sincere, I really respect the Spain team for holding today's final down with direct winning but I not quite surprised because they have unique player which have been in the game for year and currently play in one of the best team in the NBA while those that play in the Spain League played for almost the same club and have understood themselves so well than other teams in the FIBA tournament.

That's were the factor that Argentina is missing, Spain have dominated inside and they dominated the rebounding department because based on the stats there's a big disparity. It's 47 rebounds from the Champ while only 27 for the Argentina, and it's pretty evidence that Argentina struggles to score inside as the Spain has 8 blocks in total.

Argentina's best played Luís Scola struggled a lot in the game, ended up only with 8 which most points are earn in the FT, his shooting is this game is only 1/10 FG ( 1/5 2pts & 0/5 3pts), that's really worst and Spain did a great job on him.

I agree. While I'm watching, I didn't felt that I got asleep for a few minutes. That's how boring it is but anyway, we know it already from the start that the Spain has a higher chances of winning. Their defense stepped up and they shut down Scola. I lost few bucks in my bets but its ok .

Spain was rank number 2, so that would tell that it's their closest rival but the USA failed in this tournament and they need to do a better job in the next international competition to reclaim the top spot. Spain showed consistency and their heart in this tournament so they deserved to be the Champion.

All the speculation is gone as we already have the champ, people will not respect USA for not sending their best players, it looks like they are just sending their best players to battle the best teams in the world, and now they have paid their price for underestimating their opponent.

But Argentina did their best also but they cannot just win against a powerhouse Spain with lots of NBA players which are tall and can score.
Argentina is also successful in this tournament as people were not expecting they will reach in the Finals, but they wrong us to be wrong..
Expect that they will improve next time as they will learn from their mistakes, they need to invest in players with size and the athleticism so they will be able to compete well with the Spain if they were lucky to be in the Finals again.

Olympics is a different story, it's more prestigious I guess, so I think USA will try to protect their streak of winning the championship.
They have already won 3 consecutive championship in the follower years.

Spain did not deserve to win gold, but that's why the Olympics follow. If it is a dream team for America, it will be as if Barcelona is playing with the 3rd league of English, Maybe only Serbia can try something, but in this world it did not show experience which was the most important, so there are no equal teams like America

They've learned their lessons for sure, we will likely see a new line up lead by the best players in the NBA.

I'm expected Davis, Lebron, Kyrie, Durant (if he will be healthy that time), Westbrook, Harden,and Kawhi, those are just names that entered in my mind, but they are better compared to the line up that played in the FIBA WC, USA will protect their reputation, they will not take this lightly and they will continue to earn that championship again.

Olympic will be different story. Or maybe not. NBA teams cares for players and they dont want to have them injured on this so I think it will be stronger team but not that strong. Many dont want to play and there are some that dont see this as calling to play for national team.
