I want to ask your thoughts on this.

I am trying to use a little arithmetic in my Over/Under bets today. Let's say in the match between USA and Greece. I took the average scores in their previous five matches, add them up, and will place my Over/Under bet based on it.

So, based on their last 5 games, USA has an average of 94.8 points per game while Greece has 83.2 points. The total would be 178 points. Therefore, betting on Over 165.5 is a wise decision.

Is this right? Or am I just wasting my time on this strategy? LOL. Thanks!

No, because the scores depends on the team they played, and since USA is a dominant team in their past games, they did score more points.
Don't just rely on averages when you are gambling, oddsmaker are not foolish to give you an easy line, the fact that the total offers are below the average points, this means this game is gonna be more physical and game might go under, but I'm not saying I can assure this, just saying my thoughts.

In the end, it's still up to you, just consider my thoughts also. By the way, don't you like to bet on the Greece ML? Looks like that's a good odds too.

I won't be taking the risk and betting in favor of Greece. IMO, the United States is going to win this match. Their performance against Turkey was horrible, but so was the performance of Greece against Brazil. The difference is that US was able to win the match somehow, but Greece lost theirs. Also, although Giannis Antetokounmpo is a great player, he would find it tough against the US if he gets little support from the other players. Especially with injuries to Kostas Sloukas and Giannis Athinaiou.

Brazil had no chance against Czech Republic today. Their win is unexpected, especially that they won by 20 points. I don't think they become arrogant - their players are just old and they probable didn't recovered after previous matches. If Greece wil win against USA, all teams in this group will have 3:1 record. And you shouldn't understimate Czech - they showed that they are very dangerous even without Vesely.

Did I said that Sloukas was not playing? I said that he was injured. I was suggesting that his injury might not have healed properly and his performance may not be up to the mark. I haven't watched any of the Greece matches, because I am not a big fan of Greece. The first Greek match that I am going to watch is today's match against the US. Clever but its not actually easy to predict outcome even you did some kinds of this arithmetic calculations mostly it depends on the aggressiveness of a team to score not almost the same in every game so your strategy maybe right or wrong if we based on your strategy then if probability of winning is always 95% then most sportsbooks will got bankrupt.
