Btc is a risky investment, pawning your assets to buy btc is not a wise decision and that is a stupid decision, why should you suffer for something that is unclear, just invest in small portion and buy whenever you got extra money, take a look at 2018 case where the price fall down deeply, you can be suffering alot

Someone has big courage and believe on their investment to take risk everything of real assets. It is not stupidity because it is hard to decide but still it takes time before you see success. I think it is better to wait for the fall and buy Bitcoin during a bearish market. You must understand that the market trend is the same, the bullish market alternates with the bearish market. I know most successful business men and women do take risk, but we also have to be very wise in taking risk.

The cryptocurrency market is quite unpredictable and unstable for now, and because of this, every risk that we take in it has to be a minimized one. If I were you, what I would have just don’t is to use one of these asset to raise money. I could use land alone, to out the money in bitcoin, or I use house, in case something unimaginable happens along the line, at least one of them would have appreciated further to fill in the space.

I definitely agree that what you did is so much risky. You could have lost your money in just a sudden if you don't how to manage your investments well. I believe we are very optimistic about the future of bitcoin but bitcoin itself is very volatile so we should not invest in it solely. At least we should learn to diversify our investments so that if one fails, we still have other one to make profits for us.

It's quite unlikely that the price of BTC doesn't hit 20k at some point in the future.  In fact, I think 100k is coming at some point within the next 5 years.  So the OP may have $400,000 instead of just $40,000 which I assume would allow him to get a much nicer home than the one he previously had.  He could also cash out half his BTC at 20k and ride the rest risk free.

The future is not always easy to guess and probably because Bitcoin has a good and a great future that's make you to say that the future is not clear but let me say this, Bitcoin has a great future and cannot be compared to Fiat's, so, with Bitcoin we should be rest assured that the future of cashless policy is feasible and very clear.

I think OP made a wrong title, because the subject is different from the body as I can see, he rented and apartment after he sold out Hus investment that worth almost $40,000 and hoping to get the price at $20,000 per Bitcoin, which to me is very visible next year. Actually OP has seen the future of cryptocurrency more rewarding than any other.

Learning from the year 2017 that at that time Bitcoin could pump very high. At that time many people had a huge advantage because they had previously bought Bitcoin at a low price. But they will also not think that when Bitcoin can be very high the price is pumping.

Well yes the future is not clear. Many people do prediction about bitcoin, and assuming that bitcoin will be reach 100k and such. But they're all just assumption, we can't really believe it until it happens or there's sign that may indicate it happening soon.
But i think it's too risky for you to pledge your land and house, especially you have family to worry and take care of. It will be disaster for you if btc price drops or else. But i hope it will be good result for you. I hope bitcoin hype in 2017 comes back again and make btc price pumps up.
