Here in my country, lotteries are run by the government and proceeds are used in various projects and most specialy helping those who are in need like for hospitalization. So if I did not win, at least the money will be spent in helping people.

When we asked about his addiction, he never admits to it but this is his answer when we asked him why he's still betting. I also think that he wants to earn a million out of that small digit, I mean, yeah, who would not want that but the thing is that in the long run, that small digit if saved is a great help.

It is not bad at all to wait if you have chances to win with it I really appreciate the decision of you uncle or aunty it is profitable and it is reality that investing in tickets for lottery is like winning huge amount with small investment. Just imagine how much money was spent in 3 years. 6/58 lotto costs that's 0.00004260 BTC at todays BTC price, multiply that 52 since there are 52 weeks in a year then multiply in 3 since your aunts addiction lasted for 3 years that's 0.00664 BTC. That could have gone  along way if spent in another form of investment but that is your aunts way of entertaining herself, she is happy doing it. I wonder if she ever won anything like a consolation price in that 3 years.

Simply because lottery has the biggest jackpot prize, based on my experience that doesn't cost too much. Although your probability of being a victim of lightning is higher than hitting tha jackpot combination in a lottery, people still give a shot since the ticket prize doesn't make them regretful. People loved to play lottery and nevermind for any possible losses that might happen to their betting investments. The expectations also is big as they're hoping to win for good prizes, and most importantly the jackpot amount. Most fiat lottery offers that promises but the chances for the bettors were less. Same kind of thing in crypto lottery chances also is very low.

That is right, with the cheap price of each lottery, every people can buy the tickets, and that is why people like to bet in the lotteries. Although they know that this game is purely based on luck, they can accept if they cannot win the prizes. As a gambler I choose a type of game that I can win, I mean that I have a good chance of winning and that is not lottery.

Ofcourse, lottery is one of the most difficult types of gambling. It involves lots of variables and randomness.  I am considering the skill-based gamblings too. Just that I don't have a lot time to learn and play them.

Random does not make it difficult, maybe you should just say it’s too much based on luck and this is even the most reason why many choose lottery. You can imagine yourself for example, you are interested in skill based game and time has not permitted you to learn. Odd as it may seem but lottery could also be very addictive. It does not seem so because of the very tiny probability of winning. However, as it has already happened to several people, one could actually be obsessed with the jackpot price that it becomes a practical goal, however impossible it seems. There are a lot of people who got hooked up to lottery so badly that they spend huge amounts in betting as many combinations as possible. Only to end up lost every time. Yes lottery is usually associated with the poor but like I mentioned, they'll just pick the smallest they can bet. If they find the official lottery still expensive they'll play the cheaper illegal ones (though I consider those really shady, there's no proof that the games are fair). People can get stuck on the idea of betting for a lottery, some people buy far too many tickets for a reasonable game.  However the reason its not especially addictive overall is the wait involved in the result, so you buy and must wait upto a week.
The best time to buy lottery tickets is usually on the rollover, thats the only time I'm slightly tempted when the prize goes up vs the purchase price then in theory its gets to be slightly better value.   The odds arent any better and my chances just as remote hence I dont see its addictive at all - ironically its a positive I agree.

There are many reasons for that.

People can't count. They don't understand that while they have 50% chance in a dice game and the reward is double or nothing their chance of winning a lottery is less than 0.1%. All they can see is the reward which can be 1000x their lottery ticket. It doesn't matter that the chances are low all that matters is the zeroes in that reward.

Not all the lottery tickets are useless and not all of them are baseless actually this is luck based I know some of them are scammers who only cheat people and sell blank. So we should only remain careful while investing in lottery so there will be earning instead of lose and then you will again trust lottery investment.

Yes it has a low chance of winning but it has the highest price of all the gambling games. The chances of winning in lottery is close to zero but its not impossible to win on it. I would choose not to bet on lottery because of the odds of winning. Maybe I can get a profit in a different way and using smaller amount of money to get it. Lottery is just pure luck so if you are destined to win then good .

Well, I'm lucky that I don't have that kind of mindset. People are just greedy and always thinking the easy way. I'm more about practical ways so I don't want to recommend this method. Being a winner on a lottery is very impossible because it has a low probability of winning and there are many people who bet on the lottery.

Just save your money to something important than betting on the lottery every day. Think about it, that money that you've invested in the lottery for how many years, imagine how much is that?

Personally I'd advice against gambling overall (ye I know I wear a gambling signature at the moment!) but if someone insists on playing something without thinking or using skills, then why not buy a random stock? That'd give them 50% chance to win and with some research they could increase this chance.

Yup convenience is the biggest factor. And lotteries are also legal and way more regulated than the gambling industry as a whole. Besides that it doesn't really have the negative connotations that being associated with gambling could bring.

And not to forget about the huge time-saving lottery tickets are when say.. compared to a round of poker.
