Those that have been gambling for a long time will agree with some of these bad habits (if I may call them this) which I have found to have a negative effect on our gambling experience.

1. Cancelling a withdraw because the sportsbook takes long to process it or because you saw a game you think will bring easy profit, stop right here.. my advice don't even think about cancelling this it's a trap that will leave you with no money to withdraw.

2. Don't gamble while you are intoxicated, for obvious reasons judgement is impaired and you will be reckless with how you play.

3. Never gamble with money that isn't yours, this includes taking out loans for the purpose of gambling  because this always ends in you losing all the sourced funds and will result in putting yourself in bad books with friends and family.

4. Avoid accumulators, sometimes these are good but if you in it for the money avoid them! I know many will say if you don't risk it you won't win or say something like "go big or go home" but honestly think about it , you place an accumulator with 3 games and 2 games with big odds of 5 and 7 odds go through and you are left with the multiplier of 1.2 odds which goes on to lose I guess you get my logic

5. Avoid gambling when you are angry or feeling emotional about something or someone, this too affects your game. If it helps talk or see someone before you do something you will regret.

1. Totally correct. It happened with me few 100 times if not thousands.

How is gambling ever a good habit? I mean how can you make that analogy? People gamble away their homes, money, parents, wives, lives, you name it.

Don't EVER gamble or trade more than you can afford. Lol.  We should play with the peace of mind.  Also, self-control is significant in every game if we set our mind and stop after we gained some profits even small then it is better.

Statements like this are only made by gamblers that are not willing to learn the required skills in each game. If we hear stories of gamblers winning million dollars from gambling, what stops us from believing we can also achieve this? I would say that you have made a very great decision and  frankly investing is safer and better than gambling directly even though the profit might be small. I got to know about this after I had lost too much to gambling. It was at that point a friend told me about gambling investment I have no single regret about this.

And yet this is where most people fail. Gambling messes with the reward system. Most people (not just with gambling) start with a strict budget and over time things get inserted, etc and the budget don't get followed.

But that is happening in the real casino. But if we are playing online gambling, we can do that too but we cannot always to talk to other people because many of us are hiding our gambling activity from other people.

So I think maybe the bigger cost is when we buy something from the casino. But if we use online gambling, we don't have to think about the cost. We only need to care about how much money we will use to play gambling.

I think only number 5 is the gambling habit that I have experienced when I was still betting my bitcoins. Whenever I lose or either win, I 'm on the very peak of my emotions. If I win, I get so very excited like every minute thinking that maybe I could win much more which I just end up losing. Maybe we should add, don't look at others winnings. When we see someone who won big example in Poker, we try to play poker as well thinking that we can also do it or replicate what others can do, what we forget is that it takes a lot of time before they can master or get the skills in playing poker and use a strategy or technique. Also, using the strategy that others are using as well. If it worked for them, it doesn't mean it will also work for you.

Defensive... such a good word to use in gambling, we usually are aggressive whether we win or loss but most especially when we loss because like I said, it's hard to accept our loses and we want to get back our loses. I think it's just a matter of discipline that is necessary for every gambler, accepting that not all the time we can win is good enough for a start.

I sometimes make a quick climb by increasing bet size WHEN I win. It is just as risky as any other illogical strategy to be sure,,, but I actually never busted from it (I only do it 3 or 4 consecutive times at low percentages).

It is all about preference,,, and always never about making money but enjoying yourself.

It simply means that when you gamble and you win, keep your capital. And the habit that will cost you is when you bet bigger even though you've won your bets and you are not contended with that.

This is indeed what must be done. But unfortunately I did the opposite, which was to increase the number of bets to win even more. But it's really not good, which in reality we are losing. And several times I did that silly thing until I realized when I won I had to play small again.

1. Cancelling a withdraw because the sportsbook takes long to process it or because you saw a game you think will bring easy profit, stop right here.. my advice don't even think about cancelling this it's a trap that will leave you with no money to withdraw.

2. Don't gamble while you are intoxicated, for obvious reasons judgement is impaired and you will be reckless with how you play.

3. Never gamble with money that isn't yours, this includes taking out loans for the purpose of gambling  because this always ends in you losing all the sourced funds and will result in putting yourself in bad books with friends and family.

4. Avoid accumulators, sometimes these are good but if you in it for the money avoid them! I know many will say if you don't risk it you won't win or say something like "go big or go home" but honestly think about it , you place an accumulator with 3 games and 2 games with big odds of 5 and 7 odds go through and you are left with the multiplier of 1.2 odds which goes on to lose I guess you get my logic

5. Avoid gambling when you are angry or feeling emotional about something or someone, this too affects your game. If it helps talk or see someone before you do something you will regret.

By reading a lot of gambling threads here and based on my personal experience on a tipping service here which I was part of sometime ago as I don’t see it active anymore,it was premiumtipping website,I think that if you want to stick to some rules,set aside a monthly bankroll and try a service similar to the one I joined,they used to give 3-4 games with low odds and they won a few times.This is the best you can do in order to avoid doing stupid thigs while following the money.

Importantly I never realize the right point to stop. When I experience loss I could make myself stop and cash it out. My mind never does it, and this way I've lost big. Another one that is probably worst is that gamblers aren't only a danger to themselves but to people who are close to them family and friends. Off course as with all addictions, the severity of the problem varies from person to person, and there's no set pattern for when addicts gamble or the medium they use. But this draws another question. What is the causes of this.

Many factors can contribute to a gambling addiction, in my humble opinion this is desperation for money, why is this cuz most see this as easy way to get money, but some enjoy in this in other way, on this I mean they like to experience thrills and highs, the social status associated with being a successful gambler, and the entertaining atmosphere of the mainstream gambling scene.

How the bad side. Unfortunately, once a gambling addiction takes hold, breaking the cycle is difficult (lately in any google search gambling is consider addiction). Severe addictions can take hold when someone feels desperate financially and wants to make back what they have lost. First and most importantly is this move when addiction gambles will try anything to gain what have lost. Once the person finally wins, while they may end up collecting a massive amount of money from that win, it is rarely enough to cover what has already been lost. Most gamblers never even come close to breaking even, sadly this is true, that why we all know this line from day life or movies "HOUSE ALWAYS WINS".

That is a bad habit, you should not force yourself to continue to gamble until more than what you have, because it does not matter if you look strange if you choose the right path. in my opinion, these two things are a big problem for gamblers... I once bet in a state of anger because I can not claim my car insurance that had an accident, as a result, I experienced some loss because I was unable to think clearly, focus and make the right decision.

Throw out the problem and think positively before gambling is the key to making a decision in betting.

Set budget solves the bet bigger problem, this advice to all risk taking both gambling and also speculative bets in arenas such as finance or perhaps even real life costs.   Having a written down project plan will save so much time and expense vs just winging it, as most of us arent disciplined to have set definitions in our head it really does make a difference to even jot down a quick journal note of how much is on the budget today.   Not being able to keep in budget at least lets you know your frame of mind is not controlled or disciplined in that moment and the risks are controlling you instead of vice versa.

not all . some dont care at all if they win or loose but whats important for them is that they can play thier favorite gambling in order to hang out and past the time  . some avoid gamble not because they are afraid to loose but because gambling is a sin to their religion .  there also those who avoid gambling because gambling is restricted on thier area .  they can be fine or sentence to prison if they will be caught on hand playing gambling .

I see that is happening with my friends when he plays with the texas hold'em on Facebook. He doesn't care about how long he plays, how many chips he uses. He really enjoys his time in front of his computer and spends his time without doing anything. In one side, he loses his time and his chips, and on the other side, he doesn't have another activity in his life. I mean he is not work in his daily life, but he has a part-time job as web design.

Going gambling with your friends(who are gamblers too) is, indeed, a bad habit that will cost you. Usually gamblers encourage each other with words like: "Go, go!", "Don't give up! You can do it!" and such. I can see it in chat boxes of gambling sites too, but, playing online, you can disable chat whenever you want, while you can't mute your friends when you are in a land based casino. When you are losing it is hard to stop even with nobody around, but it is much harder with your friends pushing you to continue.

Agree that because when you win, many players will start to dare to play without rules and control because they are very confident with the win they get and
think that they can profit and win more. that is precisely what will bring them to great loss and that is what is called bad habits in gambling.
