We all know that career doesnt last forever and he will continue to get defeated not only with Ruiz then its over for his career.
If he would be beaten 2nd time on this rematch,he wont back to zero but regaining its popularity and recognition would already be hard.
We know on how people do react and sees fighters that arent already capable of. Preparation for the rematch is quite long and just right for them to be ready.
Worst situation for him if ever Ruiz beats AJ in this rematch and it will be hard for him to recover his old because he needs to work his way up, while Ruiz will definitely in the contention and possible opponent of Wilder vs Fury if the future.

So, AJ is in a must win, and he really need to shows that he beat Ruiz badly that he leaves no margin of doubt from us boxing fans that the first lost was just a fluke. He should learn from his mistakes here, and I'm sure he will adjust and take his revenge on Ruiz.

This is the strategy that he was using during the first rounds of the fight and it worked perfectly against Ruiz, his mistake was trying to impress the public by going for the KO when it was clear that despite the down Ruiz was not really affected that much, then he was hit by the fast hands of Ruiz and it went downhill from that moment.

So if Joshua wants to win he needs to fight in a smart way and use his size to his advantage and keep Ruiz at a distance in which only him can damage him, if he does not then his size becomes a disadvantage and he will simply become a huge target for Ruiz.

What makes this fight so exciting for boxing aficionados and bettors is they want to know if Joshua can really get back and what new he has to show, for me  Ruiz's wins is not a fluke, he totally dominated him and Joshua did not lose by a single punch, he quit because he cannot take it anymore.

If you study the fight, we are seeing the usual dominant Joshua until he gets hit by Ruiz's fast and heavy hands, I think the fight will go on where it left in their first fight.
I agree as well that the victory of Ruiz was not a fluke either however there were many mistakes that were made by the former champion that could be avoided if he fought in a smart way. It is also my belief that he underestimated his rival and that he thought that he will have a very easy fight only to discover on the middle of it that it was not the case, so the next fight is going to be incredibly interesting.

This is going to be a fight not only between different fighters but between different styles, Joshua is going to want to keep him at a very safe distance while Ruiz will want to get as close as possible and hit him with his fast hands, I don't really expect that this fight will last 12 rounds, one of them is going down but we do not know who will be.

Only two months to go and we'll be going to know if Joshua still has it or Ruiz will still dominate Joshua, my take on this fight is, Ruiz going to dominate Joshua for the second time, and the fight will go where they left off, the way Joshua fought against Ruiz, he'll have a hard time with his style.

Im aint believing too much on a word fluke even if the gap or expectations of people on a certain fighter to another one.
We can see the advantage but win is considered a win.It might be an upset one or unexpected but those wins had been worked off.
It cant be denied that lucky punch and situations do exist but on their first fight i dont see that was just a pure luck.It does shows persistence and dedication that pays off.

Losing twice to Andy Ruiz will ruin his career and he needs to go back again and reset everything. How many fights do he need to go to regain that confidence again? While the top HW are banging it's other as to who is going to be the number 1. While Joshua is fighting the left-overs before he can climb up the ladder again. So it's like going back to zero again because he had lost so much of his stature that his name is no longer in the middle of the discussions. Remember that this is not all about boxing, he needs to win this one so that his sponsorship with other brands would continue as well, Under Armour, British Airways and Hugo Boss and many more, so a definitely a must-win for him.

If Anthony Joshua II will suffer for the second time around under the punches of Andy Ruiz, I'm afraid there is no more climbing up the ladder again. There is no more talking of going back to zero and gradually climb up toward the throne and snatch the crown from whoever is wearing it. Joshua should have been reset by now. After he was humiliated in their last fight, he should have already considered his career zero. And in this upcoming rematch fight, Joshua should already be training with a zero or rock bottom mindset trying to redeem himself. Because this is his only chance. If he is defeated, and defeated convincingly by Ruiz, his career is dead.

And I supposed to think also, losing twice is just enough, no more. I hope or just to believe that might this games was a revenge of Joshua to Ruiz. It maybe I'm right if he could twist the people's expectations. Cause majority of the boxing enthusiasts will are in favor of Ruiz which might also boost the confidence that Ruiz has. What may see this game is that 60/40 in favor of the leading champ.

Or he could just end up fighting bums in the UK and never come back to the US soil, Lol. He will definitely goes out of the limelight and no more the attraction. This will be the biggest turn around in the last decade or so if he losses badly to Andy Ruiz.

But if he redeem himself, I don't know maybe we can see a trilogy? and let them finished what they started and the winner goes up against Wilder and then Fury?

The truth is that Joshua could not have chosen a worst time to lose against anyone, the top heavyweight  boxers have being avoiding each other for too long in order to create more hype for their fights and earn more money but fans were getting upset so they finally decided it was time to fight each other and Joshua ruined it by selecting the wrong opponent.

If he losses again then I will not find surprising if he decides to retire, after all he will lose many sponsors and he will lose access to the top fighters as well and when you consider all the money he has done already I do not see him coming back to the sport.

I wouldn't say that he made the choice, Anthony Joshua was supposed to be fighting Jarrel Miller until Miller was caught doping and failed a drug test, Andy Ruiz put up his name as a replacement for that fight and he was chosen and they rest they say is history.  I really think Deontay Wilder, Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua all arrange a fight so that we can finally see who's the best among the three. But I am betting Anthony Joshua regaining his titles this time around.

Anthony Joshua is just one chicken in my opinion...and he lost all respect I had for him.
Why is he avoiding to fight best heavyweights at this moment Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder?
Both of them are much better than Joshua.

When AJ was undefeated he was not ducking anybody.

Tyson Fury - Was retired when AJ started to became champion. When Tyson Fury came back from retirement he was out of his form and is into tune ups. Tyson himself said he won't let AJ earn big money because of his name. Hearn and AJ knew Tyson is not 100% back so they will of course try to take advantage by offering Tyson a fight. Wilder was lucky he got a shot at an 85% Tyson Fury (got schooled though and failed to win).

Deonty Wilder - If you are a boxing aficionado, you should know that huge offer from Hearn was refused by Wilder's camp by saying they don't want to leave and will stay loyal to Haymon. That's a dick excuse. $20 million dollar fight with AJ plus a rematch clause. Wilder's biggest purse I think is only $5 million. If Wilder accepted that he could've unified the division. But they were scared.

Ruiz exposed AJ bad. And Ruiz will repeat. If AJ losses to Ruiz again, he will never be the same fighter IMO.

For an upset fight and if you we're on his feet for sure you would ask and longing for a rematch.Pride is on stake here even he do know that Fury and Wilder is much a better choice
but for the last match they do had it is hard to believe that it can be easily forgotten or for him to move on thats why rematch is there to happen.
Im still in between about on the outcome of this fight because both is surely on preparation. We cant tell that Joshua isnt preparing for this one since he know that he would need to prove out on whose better.

If I'm not mistaken, there was a talk that Joshua and Wilder will fight, it didn't materialised because no one was giving an inch because the two has a big ego. And when the fight didn't push through, they go to the media and start accusing one another of derailing the fight. Joshua now has a unfinished business with with Ruiz and if he wins, then probably the table is open again for a fight with either Fury and Wilder.

As much as someone is so focused on making name for himself in the field of boxing, you don't expect his career to die even before starting. Going head to head with Tyson or Wilder at this point of his career would mean ultimate suicide which for me, he is not ready yet. Let him fully developed in this level that he is before going head to head with those two oracles you have listed there.

The upcoming fight really is something I am looking forward to and I am kind of giving it to Anthony but I wont be surprised if he lose the remaining of his dignity just like the last match when he lost that there was rumor that he tanked the match willingly when he has been the favorite to win the game. For me, there is no unfiltered loyalty it can be a day to the match that I would change my mind but now, is Anthony Joshua all the way.

I know that he was not the first choice but after they had the chance to choose another fighter they still picked Ruiz, it is obvious Joshua wanted an easy opponent to make a good impression in the American public and instead of doing that he got completely beaten and I do not know if he has recovered psychologically from that fight and yet he has to fight Ruiz again in a very short notice and that could affect his performance in the next fight.

Now while Wilder and Fury could fight Joshua in order to settle once and for all who is the best they do not really need it if Ruiz beats Joshua again, since at that time they will prefer to fight against Ruiz instead of Joshua.

It was just confirmed that the fight is going on December 7th in Saudi Arabia. Tons of huge fights comming on there. Khabib's next fight is in Abu Dabbi. Big moves in the fight game by the middle east...

Quote

Matchroom Sport has officially confirmed that the anticipated rematch between Andy Ruiz and Anthony Joshua will take place on December 7th in Diriyah, Saudi Arabia.

Eddie Hearn of Matchroom will hold a press conference this coming Monday in London, to discuss the details of the event.

The card is being called "Clash on The Dunes."

Who are you going with? I see Joshua actually showing up with some balls and focus that night and getting the job done to redeem himself, which will make the Wilder vs Joshua/Tyson vs Joshua fight relevant again.

As much as I want Andy to win again because he is such a likeable guy and a hardworker, I don't really see it. I mean if Ruiz knocks the fuck out Joshua's chin again then it's pretty much over, he should retire. I think he is aware of this fact and he isn't going to let this happen twice. I give Joshua an 8th round KO. But this is an extremely risky bet. Honeslty im not even sure if I want to get involved in this one. Ruiz can really pull it again. I want to see the odds before I make a decision.

I will research the story of both fighters, admit I didn't know well the history of both fighters
I love boxing but I can't follow both player. I rearch first before i decide to put my bet in this games.

No need to research mate, just read the previous post and you will know who is the favourite of most gamblers here. Joshua was the favourite to win in the first fight, however, Ruiz proved that he is no pushover and win that match, no controversy as Joshua was really out of focus and Ruiz was too good that night.

Anthony Joshua is just one chicken in my opinion...and he lost all respect I had for him.
Why is he avoiding to fight best heavyweights at this moment Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder?
Both of them are much better than Joshua.

It is not ego. Negotiations for big fights are always about who takes the bigger portion of the purse. Boxing is presently more a business now than a sport.

Not saying it's a ego thing, but as far as I can remember even the venue was at a dispute. Obviously, Joshua wanted it to be in UK, while Wilder want it stateside. If it is UK then Joshua will take the lion share of the revenue in which Wilder doesn't want to give him.
