AJ was given a rematch because they have that clause in the first fight. That's why Ruiz have no choice but to follow what he had sign in the contract.
The promoters are smart enough to have all these clauses when putting up a fight they did the right decision to have a rematch because it is important for Anthony Joshua to win this fight and this is an important fight for his career and Anthony Joshua will be well prepared for this rematch and i expect to win this rematch.

But I do agree that if AJ wins convincingly he should give Ruiz a chance for a trilogy. Andy already in Saudi he meet the Saudi Royal family and has media day.
Anthony Joshua should win the rematch and whether he will give Andy Ruiz a trilogy is yet to be seen as he is not an easy fight for anyone in the division.

Well, it only shows that Joshua is still the A-side eventhough he has lost the first fight.

But for Ruiz though, this is already a huge payday for him. Not to take everything away from him, but with this huge money, I hope that he can still perform and deliver us a good fight and not just be a "one shot wonder".

Well then, that's interesting. Nor ring girls mean no ring emotions as well? What do you think?  Wink

But being serious, as each day goes by and brings us closer to this fight, I have much more doubts about AJ-s performance. He's a fantastic athlete, one of the best of his generation but there's something magical in this American-Mexican podge. He has so much power, so much flex, so much swag.

When he destroyed AJ in June, I was totally shocked. Now i see chances even at 50/50.
No doubt that Ruiz is a good fighter but you shouldn't use the previous occasion to judge the new occasion where mistakes have been made and lesson have been learned. However, AJ lost the previous fight cause he underestimated Ruiz, he's also after finishing him quickly and Ruiz hard pouches caught him off guard. Mind you, he have already lost the fight when Ruiz hit straight punches and if you can watch again the previous fight clip you'll know I'm right.

@posi. I am not certain if this is true, however, there were some stories that said Anthony Joshua had a panic attack during training and he also did not want to fight on that night. He did not underestimate Andy Ruiz. He was not ready.

In any case, ring girls are part of boxing culture. If the princes of Saudi Arabia do not like it, I reckon boxing should stay where the whole culture is welcome.

He has a lot of fights and he's been to a lot of wars if he has a once of panic attack then he is in trouble, a good fighter is always ready to fight anywhere, all the time to any opponent and never give up and will fight to the death for his title, then this is not good maybe because he is in an unknown territories, like he is now fighting outside of UK.

Really looking forward to this, I’m expecting AJ to win quite comfortably. He looks a lot slimmer, he’s clearly lost weight in an attempt to be quicker I guess.

Assuming that he will use his height and reach advantage over Ruiz, he can pull off this one. He need also to be quicker in this match, that may be the reason why he is slimmer than before and avoid in-brawl early in the fight. That crispy jab must be the weapon of choice for AJ, effective and can file points for him.

Can't wait to see this fight and see how AJ will deal with Ruiz. Career defining fight for both of them.

Career defining for Ruiz and a chance for redemption for Joshua, the pressure is so high on Joshua now, because he must prove to critic that he is not a weak champion, I seldom saw a champion giving a fight and this is 4 title that he gave up, champions will fight to the death just to retain the title, only a knock out can take that away, but we have not seen that on Joshua.

Right, this is so attractive to bet and I'm thinking that AJ would just wanted to get a win by decision if the KO is not presented to him. He might utilises in jab in this second fight to at least put Ruiz at bay and score points. Of course, AJ won't slug it out because he knows what happen to him in their first fight. Might used all this tools to defeat Ruiz by decision, and then talk for a trilogy.

For those people who eye for AJ before their 1st match for sure would really have that kind of view that ruiz win was a fluke and so sure that on the rematch
he would able to beat up ruiz and claim back on whats for him. Possible trilogy? Yes, it could happen yet we know if the said fight would tie up 1-1 and if this would
continue to be hyped up then for sure it would proceed to the 3rd match up to prove out anything. We know that boxing is business and the more it is being hyped the more
money it could generate. lol

You said it right, hopefully boxers will not allow themselves to rig the game and they will give the best they can.
Most of rigging happens is when it reach to the score card and corrupt judges would always side those boxers that has a great future potential and luckily that first fight did not end up to the score card and I am afraid if it will end to score card in this rematch, maybe AJ would win.

I have a feeling that Joshua already felt that Ruiz has the power and he might came up smarter in this rematch, if he will survive in 12 rounds, the odds of winning is on him, and trilogy will certainly bring another good money for both.

Definitely because if Ruiz loss in this fight, expect that this will become a trilogy and still the pressure is on Joshua as he is always the favorites in this fight. They are really hyping this one and I feel that people starting to believe that Ruiz can beat AJ for the 2nd time around.

The odds of Ruiz is stable though he is a clear underdog but that's the right odds, can't wait for this one, really.

People still treat him as an underdog after those brutal punch that left Joshua exposed as a coward who gives up all his title because he cannot keep up with those heavy and quick punches, let's see now if he has a solution to those heavy and quick punch

@fortunecrypto, is not about what people think because the boxing federation/promoter have the final say and the reward they are going to pay to each fighter for the upcoming fight usually determine who the underdog will be. If you check the reward (fund) which will bevoay to Anthony is huge than Ruiz and this mean the promoters still believe Ruiz is an underdog despite his winning in their first fight.
@Finestream, was right but the ref have to stop the fight whenever they see that the opponent health/fitness can't go on with the fight.

If you bet on AJ to win the fight whether through decision or KO, you will only get 1.44 odds, I think that's too cheap.

Maybe you'll consider betting on AJ to win via decision @ 5.40 because he might not be too confident in this fight trying to knock out the champ, maybe he will just use his length and consistently score throughout the 12 rounds.

AJ by decision @5.60, that's my bet. I'm also thinking that Joshua will just use his jab in this fight to win, which in the first fight is effective and might soften Ruiz in the later rounds. This might be a boring fight as i see Joshua will not slug it out with Ruiz. Jab, jab and clinch if Ruiz would go inside, that would be the game plan of AJ.

Where did you find these odds? On Bet365 is @ 4.33. Or cryptobookies?
Nevertheless, it might not go so far as AJ has not better information on the opponent style.

I find that odds on Sportsbet as that is the online sports bookies that i used  Smiley.

What do you mean "AJ has not better information on the opponent style"? This is a rematch and everything is on the table for both of the fighters. If you follow AJ on his training, he is slimmer now than the first fight for him to be quicker while Ruiz has put on more muscles as part of the adjustments for this rematch.

Lol, there's no chance Andy Ruiz is 6'2. I was at one of the MSG press conferences for the first fight, he's probably around 5'11 at best.

I'm 6'1 and I definitely had a couple inches at LEAST on Ruiz. AJ is an absolute monster though, definitely just as tall as he looks against Ruiz. Absolute beast.

Still, the fight will probably go the same way, because AJ doesn't seem to understand that the clinch is part of a tall fighters key tools.
