Lately, I just noticed that the UID of satoshi was 3 so I get curious to the other first members of this forum. So here's the top 20 UID of bitcointalk.org.

I tried to look his/her post but it shows "Sorry, no matches were found" even though he has 7 posts on his/her profile.

That's because all of this account's posts are on the staff board, which is inaccessible to non staff members.

They were nothing interesting; all 7 were simply test posts and testing basic forum functions like quoting, code boxes, and editing.
You can see all the posts in the pdf files found at the following link: https://bitcointalk.org/first_topics/

#2 The user whose profile you are trying to view does not exist.

Obviously, The founder of the forum.

#4    sirius

#5 The user whose profile you are trying to view does not exist.

#6    nandnor

This account was considered as collectible account for having a UID of 6. The owner of this account started bidding with a starting bid of 0.001 BTC and someone bought it for 0.015 BTC. You can look it in here; Bitcointalk account. UID = 6.

#7 The user whose profile you are trying to view does not exist.

#8 The user whose profile you are trying to view does not exist.

#9 The user whose profile you are trying to view does not exist.

#10 Xunie

Another madhatter? Maybe he created another account to make his username look more awesome.  Cheesy

#15 The user whose profile you are trying to view does not exist.

#18 The user whose profile you are trying to view does not exist.

#19 The user whose profile you are trying to view does not exist.

#20 The user whose profile you are trying to view does not exist.

It's good to know the first persons who created their account on this forum. Nothing special but another information we've learned about the forum.  Wink
Thanks for reading! I hope you've appreciated the thread.

And I doubt it. Check this

If this is the original owner then I guess he does not have much Bitcoin in hold or we would not see him running after useless bounty hunting :-P

Yeah, no doubt, it's not the original owner.
The possibility is extremely low that he's out of money and needs to start shitposting now.  Cheesy

And he has a neutral Trust left by nutildah from a few weeks ago.

But I'm curious about the deleted profiles. I wasn't aware that it was possible to delete accounts in the early days.

I think SMF has an option to delete profile by user however admin can disable it if they want. I think this was the case.

Nanaimo Gold is among the longest running digital currency exchangers in the world and is the world's first bitcoin exchanger.

Paypal spend from NG is bought through the bank with cash to a 15 yr old verified business account that has never been frozen.

Trusted? Absolutely by thousands.

Interesting.

Obviously, The founder of the forum.

#4    sirius

Pleeeeeease!!
It's surprising how well-documented history can become totally forgotten... Satoshi created the forum on Nov 22, 2009, and was head administrator until almost 2011. Then Sirius was head administrator until 2012, which is when I took over.

Cobra also owns the bitcointalk.org domain name. I consider the forum to be basically owned by or at least dedicated to the Bitcoin community, though; I don't call anyone an owner of the forum.

That wiki article is kind of terrible...

Do you even know what's the purpose of Horizontal Rule? I'm very disappointed.

I see! Thanks @o_e_l_e_o, I'll try to add it on OP.

This is how I feel now:  Embarrassed

@op, I owe you an apology.
But there is too many horizontal lines, plus centering the profiles names make it a little bit confusing especially for a slow person like myself Undecided

What do you think now? :-P
This is how I feel now:  Embarrassed

@op, I owe you an apology.
But there is too many horizontal lines, plus centering the profiles names make it a little bit confusing especially for a slow person like myself Undecided

It's fine though.

I'll try to fix it because I realized that it's very confusing for someone that's browsing on mobile phones. Thanks.

Not exactly sure how the deleted profiles work. You’ve detected 9 in the initial 20 profiles by uid. I’ve checked a full profile DB I have from end of last year (data derived by @Piggy), and make it around 16.685 deleted (or not generated) profiles before UID 2473383.

Some of those profiles have posts associated to them, and apparently, the way they are managed was by tying (don't know it it is physical or logical) them to a "Guest" profile under the generic username "Anonymous" (see https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=15911.msg208900#msg208900 for example), although some still preserved a sort of username (see https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=67541.msg785785#msg785785).

There’s this to go by:

Deleting accounts doesn't mess up any threads, like this thread. It just changes to anonymous, with no profile information. Post stays intact.

As you can see here, I only change the username to "Anonymous" on request.

Nice trivia mate if we can call this one. I heard to my friends here that satoshi created the forum and that UID really proves since he belong to the top 10 members in the forum. I also search for Theymos UID and his UID is 35, so he belongs to the group for sure.

This is kind of depressing to me.  It really just comes down to luck on whether or not you stumbled across bitcoin in the early days.  I know it is something I would of latched onto right away had I heard about it back at the beginning.

Interesting to see that just few of them are now active members in Bitcointalk forum.... for various reasons
I wonder if some of the active members is the same owner of the account until now. I didn't know that there are still active members within the top 20 UID. Anyway, I checked the UID starting from 21 to 40 whete i'm doing it just for fun but sadly, it's also the same as the Top 20 UID where there are only few forum members who are still active today. These are the UID of active members and their forum name within 21 - 40 UID.

This is not as fresh as I’d like it to be (I used data provided by @Piggy at the time, which has not been refreshed for some time), but it gives us a general idea of whether profiles created on a given year are still active years later, or whether they drop-out along the way. The data is from November 2018:

<…>

Interpretation:

- For example, in 2012 (read at row level) ->  27.846 accounts were registered. Out of those, 10.897 (39,13%) dropped out in 2012, 2.994 (10,75%) in 2013, 1.194 (4,29%) in 2014, 700 (2,51%) in 2015, 400 (1,44%) in 2016, 2.832 (10,17%) in 2017, and only 8.829 (31,71%) of the account have logged-in during 2018 so far.

- Now if we focus specifically on the 2018 column, we see that out of the accounts created during 2009, 54,55% logged-in during 2018, only 20,66% of those created in 2010 did so, 46,88% of those created in 2011, 31,71% of those in 2012, 15,93% of those created in 2013, 15,95% of those in 2014, only 4,80% of those created in 2015, 9,21% in 2016 and 33,52% of those created in 2017.

- 2015 and 2016 follow a weird pattern, since the large majority of the created accounts were only active during the year of creation (in 2015 this happened with 89,50% of the created accounts, and 84,95% in 2016). These values are much higher than other years by comparison.
The hacking that took place in 2015 may certainly have had to do with it, scaring people off, but accounts created before didn’t dropout in masses during 2015/2016.

- Accounts created in 2011 are, on the other hand, the longest survivors, with 46,88% of the accounts having logged-in during 2018 (2009 created accounts have a larger ratio (54,55%), but are a small number). <…>

The interesting thing here is that, on November 2018:

54,55% of the accounts created in 2009 were still active.
20,66% of the accounts created in 2010 were still active.
46,88% of the accounts created in 2011 were still active.
31,71% of the accounts created in 2012 were still active.
15,93% of the accounts created in 2013 were still active.
15,95% of the accounts created in 2014 were still active.
4,80% of the accounts created in 2015 were still active.
9,21% of the accounts created in 2016 were still active.
33,52% of the accounts created in 2017 were still active.

To take into consideration: existence of massive Newbie account creation on certain years (for bot spam I figure), forum hacks, etc. These facts affect wildly the percentages. The thread where the quote comes from details the information by Ranks.

To sum it all up, only #12 - nanaimogold is the only active account up until today. I wonder how much bitcoin he is holding right now.  Tongue
And I doubt it. Check this

Week 11
Twitter Campaign
<snip>

If this is the original owner then I guess he does not have much Bitcoin in hold or we would not see him running after useless bounty hunting :-P
And it's sad to see such thing - one of the oldest forum account's now is used by random guy who just bought it for bounty spamming. It's more than obvious that account changed hands. I hardly can imagine early Bitcoin user spamming useless bounties Cheesy
About deleted accounts, it would be interesting to know they are deleted. Because I don't know any recent cases when Bitcointalk account was deleted. Maybe there is archived versions of Bitcointalk is available somewhere and it's possible to find usernames and more information about these accounts.
