It is correct that ETH is the second-largest cryptocurrency of this market but Bitcoin has no competition with any coin and no coin even ETH can replace Bitcoin anytime.

If ethereum will someday replace bitcoin is a new thing in cryptocurrency, technology is increasingly growing rapidly it is not possible that altcoin cannot defeat bitcoin, but it takes a long time and must have high values too

Ethereum is having its own issues right now, such as the volatile transaction fee and issues with security. On top of that, the usage has declined ever since the ICO bust. First let ETH sort out its issues. After that we can talk whether it will be able to overtake Bitcoin or not. Personally, I don't see ETH coming anywhere near BTC in the next 10-15 years.

if we talk about cryptocurrency, then what people will think of is bitcoin, bitcoin has great confidence from investors to invest. especially for current market conditions that are difficult to predict, of course people will choose bitcoin to invest. therefore I think it is difficult for ethereum to outperform bitcoin, especially for the near future

it seems impossible, ethereum is still far from bitcoin when compared in terms of price, maybe ethereum can only compensate for ranking in the market and not ethereum's time to replace bitcoin in terms of price or position.

Bitcoin will be very difficult to replace. It has a huge community and support. Of course, it is not perfect, but since it was the first cryptocurrency, it gives it great advantages.

The things you mentioned are absolutely correct but the thing is that BItcoin has a market dominance that is way more than ETH. It has the best value as of now and the rest of the cryptos even the ETH has to beat it by a huge margin that is too much of a stretch to achieve if you ask me. I am myself an ETH holder, but the fact about the dominance of BTC is just too much.

XRP has a few times surpassed ETH, which made us realize that ETH could be replaced by other currencies.

However, with BTC, it cannot be replaced. Bitcoin is our first blockchain, the mystery of its birth is still a mysterious number.

It has a very strong community

Yes i agree. From all of altcoins out there, the one that's the closest to be in bitcoin place in ETH. But even so, Ethereum still can't beat bitcoin and take over the number one place. But however, we can't deny the fact that ETH is slowly becoming as popular as bitcoin, and i can even say it's very popular already although it can't beat bitcoin yet. The value is quite high as well, and it has a great potential. All of your statements above is true, i really agree with them. Maybe one day it may happens where ETH take over bitcoin, but i think it will still take a long time since BTC domination is no joke and it won't be easy to change it in a short term.

We have seen many failed flippenings. And probably we will not see any successful one and why? Because Ethereum doesn't have something what Bitcoin has - the true decentralization. When you think about it, noone will invest a lot of money into one name - Vitalik Buterin.  Smiley

I don't think that will happen, but it is possible that in the future ETH could be the first when something bad happens to BTC. but if that happens, then there is a big possibility that the crypto market will suffer a big blow and even more likely, this market will be dying.

Well, the chances of it to happen is very low although I don't remove the possibilities that it can happen in the future.
In terms of technology, Ethereum has a better technology compare to Bitcoin. In terms of tx speed and fees, ETH is excelling on that part but in terms of market cap Bitcoin is on top. They are good coins in different parts. I'm holding both of them and they are making ~80-85% of my total portfolio.

Fix ETH scalability first before thinking to dethrone BTC.Also, Vitalik have huge amount of ETH that can control it's price movement.

ethereum technology is out dated and they are not evolving fast enough to keep up with other projects creating faster and more easier to user blockchains for developers

Ethereum seems to be better than bitcoin in terms of technology , but in the cryptosphere, that may not matter much. If we consider bitcoin only as an element of capital accumulation, then people use it much more willingly.

It can not be even in your wildest dream as we all know bitcoin is pioneer among all the altcoin and that's why they call it "BITCOIN" eth will become number 2 as always even if you research the history and besides try to make new org like ethtalk.org and then make an icon also.

Ethereum, being the world's second largest cryptocurrency by market cap, has all the potential of replacing Bitcoin in the future. It's more than just a cryptocurrency, being a platform for the development and execution of smart contracts (aka dApps). With ETH, it's possible to launch alternative cryptocurrencies without the need to start a Blockchain from scratch. It's also possible to use the ETH blockchain for other purposes such as voting, proof of identity, verification of documents, and more. In contrast, Bitcoin's only use is for finance where it cannot be implemented in other areas by its own.

Given all of the benefits Ethereum provides on top of Bitcoin, it makes me wonder whenever it'll be able to replace the pioneer cryptocurrency within the future? As long as, Ethereum keeps progressing in development and mainstream acceptance, it'll be much closer to Bitcoin every step of the way. What are your thoughts? Huh

I'm a huge fan of ethereum,  prefer transacting with it to bitcoin. But the truth is, the whole vision of satoshi Nakamoto of creating a decentralized financial system was laced in bitcoin. It will always be the number one digital currency.

And talking about the various potentials of ethereum such as smart contracts, support of dApps proof of identity and verifications, lots of other blockchain startups have emerges with all these features which allows other projects to migrate to blockchain without starting from the scratch. Ethereum might be the pioneer of the whole idea but the market is not monopolistic.

Bitcoin will always be the king. My opinion though

Its not impossible one day eth could replace bitcoin, the popularity of eth is also not too bad, but eth still need to develop although it is being used for smart cobtract and a lot of project, the value and the real usage in daily life still limited, for me any coin that could bring better life then it is a good coin no matter it is going to be btc, eth or any coin

It's possible that Ethereum or XRP will replace Bitcoin.
