This is very unlikely at this time, as Bitcoin is still the major trading pair, ETH is showing signs of slowing down! The future is still ahead, things can still change! But I always believe BTC more than ETH
a long time ago, ETH has always been rumored to be one of the coins that have the potential to surpass BTC. but unfortunately, the demand for BTC is always greater than ETH. in addition, the rise of bitcoin dominance a few days ago also became evidence that bitcoin was needed more than other coins, even ETH. well, if one day ETH dominates, and replaces bitcoin, the answer is quite simple, just change your focus from bitcoin to ETH. Besides that, I think most investors have bitcoin and Ethereum in their wallets.

I think that ethereum will never replace bitcoin in the sense in which we are now discussing this. Also, other types of cryptocurrencies will not be able to do this. At the same time, this does not mean at all that Bitcoin will always be the leader of the cryptocurrency and will dominate in price terms. Over time, its price dominance will disappear, leadership seems to be the same, but this is not necessary. Most likely, in the future we will have several leaders and none of them will be able to exert price dominance on other types of cryptocurrencies. The situation in the future will not be able to repeat exactly. The world is developing cyclically, but not in a circle, but in a spiral. This means that we are returning, however, at a new level. Moreover, there are many development options.

Its not good nna happen. Bitcoin is always on the top and it will. People have their trust in bitcoin and the and more than 55% of whole market cap is in bitcoin. Its not about ether , I think nothing can replace bitcoin.
In the present condition seems bitcoin dominance will not be replaced by others but this does not prove that there will be no changes in the market in the future. In the market that has changed so much after 10 years, it is hard to predict what will happen in the next 10 years. Even when the regulations begin, maybe centralized ones will move to the top, which I think would not be a surprise.

Ethereum, being the world's second largest cryptocurrency by market cap, has all the potential of replacing Bitcoin in the future. It's more than just a cryptocurrency, being a platform for the development and execution of smart contracts (aka dApps). With ETH, it's possible to launch alternative cryptocurrencies without the need to start a Blockchain from scratch. It's also possible to use the ETH blockchain for other purposes such as voting, proof of identity, verification of documents, and more. In contrast, Bitcoin's only use is for finance where it cannot be implemented in other areas by its own. Given all of the benefits Ethereum provides on top of Bitcoin, it makes me wonder whenever it'll be able to replace the pioneer cryptocurrency within the future? As long as, Ethereum keeps progressing in development and mainstream acceptance, it'll be much closer to Bitcoin every step of the way. What are your thoughts? to me, that is a very normal thing. Think about it, a business that always brings value to the entire crypto community and always dedicates itself to technology and the future is compared to an unmanaged enterprise and technology is becoming obsolete. You already know who won. I know that bitcoin will dominate the CMC for a long time, but I also believe that one day bitcoin will be worthless. At that time, blockchain technology would officially take the throne.

The world was nothing but just total chaos, the world started by a very known bigbang. When knocking the door of cryptocurrencies, the bigbang here is Bitcoin, the holycurrency since 2009. It's cristal-clear that ethereum will never surpass Bitcoin, stop dreaming. Peoples will never sell all their holding in btc for eth, even you, the person reading this.. You won't sell but you'll stick with your precious btc because it is the most trusted currency here. Don't dream too much, dreams still dreams, they might never happen.

They both work really differently so I don't really see it fair nor the point to compare. In some ways you are right but I do not like that you cannot mine eth tokens. I think maybe some you can but not the same way as eth. Unless I am much mistaken? It would be nice to be mistaken then I can find something new to mine.

It has zero potential to replace bitcoin. It is a pipeline dream.
ETH has nothing over BTC, it is not faster not much more scalable. You say " smart contracts" ,I say it is bullshit noone uses them besides ICOs which are dying. NEO has better potential than ETH .

this is a question that seems to be a circle of concern for many investors and holders, because top-ranking coins are always questioned about their potential to last for a long time, as bitcoin is replaced by ethereum and so is ethereum which might be replaced by coins below. this is clear if these two coins have good potential to be irreplaceable because most exchanges and even new projects will pair their tokens to these two coins

Although ethereum is a powerful coin with potential, I think it can never replace bitcoin. Look at the history of the cryptocurrency market, you'll understand why I say that. But if one day really passes the ethereum bitcoin, I think that altcoins will get rid of bitcoin hegemony. If this happens, the altcoins are not affected much by the bitcoin movement. but as I said, something like this is very difficult or even impossible bitcoin is always the king of the crypto money market. and will continue to be so

The less that the person could be tracked is more better in the cryptocurrency scene. Ethereum should be one of the victors of accomplishing that though it will not overtake Bitcoin.

Ethereum is the second best and most trusted coin in cryptocurrency and top coins in Altcoin, and if Ethereum can replace bitcoin in my opinion it's impossible and Ethereum is only able to compete with bitcoin but won't be able to replace it. Bitcoin and Ethereun are like a pair of cryptocurrency and in my opinion nothing can replace both.

I don't see it replacing BTC as King but I feel like it deserves to be on top. Their team is not stopping in terms of making product development and almost everyone is using ERC-20 which is good for their respective developers. On the other hand, BTC has been stagnant for a very long-time.
It may happen, it may not, but nothing is impossible here in crypto.

I wish it will not happen in the future, I don't want to see it, for me, Bitcoin is the best for this blockchain platform which is the Godmother of this system so far, so if Bitcoin will go below under ETH then it will be a huge loss for this platform because Bitcoin has gained a huge credibility and acceptability around the world. It may be good for ETH, it may turn aside but it will be an unfulfilling loss for this platform as a whole. it's a low possibility to replace Ethereum of Bitcoin, But We don't know what's coming next and what's planning under this world, everything is possible. But if Bitcoin will get replaced by ETH then Blockchain will lose the credibility once more.

There is no way Ethereum can ever replace Bitcoin. Bitcoin introduced blockchain technology which Ethereum was built on using similar ideologies behind blockchain technology. Ethereum is a good crypto coin but it does not have the qualities to replace Bitcoin in any way possible.... people need to stop various comparisons and try to understand that each cryptocurrency has its specific purpose in the crypto space...

No its not. Its not possible for any coin to replace bitcoin. Firstly, fundamentally ETH and btc are different form each other. The use case of each coin is very much different form other one. And if you want to speak about marketcap then its almost impossible. Cause more than 50% of whole market is nothing but btc.

What if? well I have been long enough in this industry to know that there is nothing that is impossible. So, I will not rule out the possibility of this happening. Ethereum is the second best, next rated to Bitcoin, that means it is a really good coin, and doing well for itself too. So with a little more push, it just might overthrow bitcoin, and take over the crown.

If Ethereum ever overtakes Bitcoin it will be very cool because I also keep Ethereum in my portfolio.
However I personally am still not sure if that will happen because in my opinion Bitcoin remains the king of crypto, apart from that we also do not know what will happen in the future so just follow the existing developments
