I think that the type of team that Barcelona have become at the moment, this team can stand up against any strong team and have the ability to secure victory. I am very confident that the Barcelona team will do great things in La Liga this season.

Barcelona have more confidence in their games now because they are in a better form. Winning is not something that is difficult for Barcelona this season because xavi has really done great work by transforming the team to better and some of the players that Barcelona signed in this season has strengthen the performance of the team,  Barcelona still have the chance of winning laliga this season and can perform better in Champions league better than what they did in previous season.

Barcelona were in good form and the players were very confident. But even then the team failed to win against Granada in the last match. Barcelona have dropped points in two of their last three matches. And they failed to win against two teams who were very weak opponents for Barcelona. And so I would say Barcelona's performance is not stable yet. And if they perform like that, they will lose points in at least two of the next three matches. Xavi must come up with a new plan. Athletic Club, Madrid and Sociedad are three very tough opponents. And Barcelona will need to win all three of these matches if they want to top the points table.

I didn't mean like they never will need to buy a player, of course they will need to buy players eventually, but the fact that they could use La Masia to rebuild the team just a bit is still a great help. Imagine finding players from there that can play every 2-3 years, that would mean by the end of 10 years, while some of them will be older, you would still have 5 players for free that plays well, and the rest you buy.

Most other teams do not even have players from youth setup, and they might be doing financially alright anyway. Look at Real Madrid, they are not in trouble as much as Barcelona, and they never bring any young players from their own youth team. In fact, I do not remember who was the last player that grew up in their system.

At this point , I don't think we can count out Girona from being outside top 6 by the of the season right ? They are having the best season in club history and also a strong squad that can sustain a long season with strong games because everyone will want to beat them , especially the ones behind them like ATL.Madrid, Sociedad , Betis and even Valencia because I all of them are great teams overall with high potential to finish in top 6.

Granada and Mallorca have won just one match this season. Barcelona lost points against such weak teams. Barcelona played well and won against big teams like Villarreal, Sevilla and Real Betis. I think we will see a good performance from Barcelona in the upcoming matches as well. Barcelona will play three consecutive matches against Athletic Club, Real Madrid and Real Sociedad. The opponents in all three matches are very tough. Even so, I expect Barcelona to pick up full points in all three matches.

You should be specific cause Barcelona didn't lose those matches they dropped points from, in as much as they dropped points it doesn't mean they're not performing well caused if you check you'll also know that they're among one of the few teams in the league that are yet to be unbeaten even Realmadrid and Girona that's ahead of them in the table have both lost on match each but Barcelona are yet to lose a match and only had three draws.

 The league is still far and am not writing Barcelona off yet cause they have lots of time to cover up, the gap between them and Realmadrid is not very wide all they need to do is remain consistent in their winnings and try not to lose against smaller teams or even get a draw again, however I agree that there next three games are tough ones but the major threats among those three is Realmadrid.

I know that Barcelona are still unbeaten this season. They have drawn three matches. And for a team that competes for the title, I think it's almost equal for them to draw and lose. And I think it's even more shameful to lose 2 points by drawing against teams like Granada and Mallorca.
More important than whether Barcelona have played well is that they have dropped 6 points in three games against very weak opposition. If the opponents were as strong as Villarreal or Sociedad, maybe I would have been happy with Barcelona's performance.
However, there is still plenty of time for Barcelona to climb to the top of the table. The next three matches are very important for them. If they win these matches, the top spot in the table will be occupied by Barcelona.

That would be to give credits to Girona. They might be fighting for the fight to get into top four clubs or six clubs to make it to the Champions League or Europa League Competition.
Getting all three points against fellow smaller clubs and managing to share points with big clubs is suchba good thing to watch Girona doing.
When they meet clubs like Barcelona, Atletico Madrid, Sevilla, Valencia and the rest they haven't faced, they should fight to get a draw and that's a perfect way that'll get them into the top four. Avoiding loses to smaller clubs and gaining a point is a good idea.

Have you seen the home record of Girona? No you haven't! They have won all four and lose just one and that was to Real Madrid.
They should still be at home facing Almeria who is also struggling. They've got this, on the 22nd of October they should get three points and go top of the La Liga Table if Real Madrid shares points with Sevilla.

A very reasonable scenario and I agree overall with your statement, that is the best way to stay in the top four of the standings amidst the dominance of Madrid, Barcelona and ATM. I'm trying to look at Girona match schedule in the next five weeks, Girona will face Almeria, Celta Vigo, Osasuna, Rayo Vallecano and Bilbao. In my view, Girona can still stay in the top four of the standings if their opponents are like that.

But we haven't seen Girona consistency throughout the season, and certainly didn't pay much attention to them before. What is clear is that Girona deserves to be the dark horse in La Liga this season, although personally I still have a little doubt that they can finish in the UCL zone.

From the last five teams and clubs to be faced ahead,  Almeria, Osasuna and Celta Vigo can be easily overtaken and won. Rayo Vallecano and Atletico Bilbao would be the big issues here.
Let's say they should get 9 points from those three and two points as a draws. That's a total of evelen points.

They should be watched closely. Though against Real Madrid they had good players on both sides of the wings. They had it going well but they lacked a good goal scorer, another thing here, credits should be given to Real Madrids defense.

Their performance this season is surprising because they have improved their game plan, they now have consistency, and there is maturity in their games. They can't be counted out in the La Liga's top six clubs; in fact, I will rate them in the top four because they have had a wonderful performance so far, and they are playing to win something or qualify for European competition, either the UEFA Champions League or the Europa League, which is very possible.

I may bet on a draw for the match not because I don't trust Girona to win but because football is full of uncertainty and at that, a perceived small club could end up giving the bigger clubs the toughest time so we shouldn't underestimate any team at this stage,  although previous performance has shown team strength and weakness but even at such,  we still have a big chance to see them performs beyond their previous performance so we have to be dual in approach when we making such analysis of team based on the past performance.

Girona may seem big for Almeria but then we also have to look at some other possibilities before making a final conclusion and judgement based on those speculations at some point.

I respect your decision to place a bet on a draw but in my opinion this match looks like Girona will win even though there are always surprises that happen in football but I'm just trying to convince myself because looking at the history of the closest matches between these two clubs and decided to bet on Girona for win.
I still believe that Girona will continue to be enthusiastic about taking advantage of opportunities when they are almost at the top of the points table so that Girona will continue to take advantage of that opportunity to get a win to add 3 points in every match that will take place and we must always remember that this club always has a chance winning is bigger when competing at home, even though it doesn't provide a guarantee of winning, confidence will definitely have a big impact.

If we talk only based on assumptions, it could happen as you say. However, in practice, every match Girona will play does not guarantee a smooth win in the 5 weeks they will play. Almeria, Celta Vigo, Osasuna, Rayo Vallecano and Bilbao, in fact they also play the same eleven players as Girona. which means, every team that will compete with Girona will provide resistance, especially since Girona is not a team that has star-studded players.

But you also need to remember, Celta Vigo is sometimes able to provide fierce resistance, such as during the match between Celta Vigo and Barcelona. Meanwhile in the match against Getafe, they got difficulty to score because they played with 10 players only (Raphinha got a red card). It is quite unfortunate for Barcelona, these are small teams that should be easy to win. But they failed to get full points because of an unacceptable reason. They too depend on Lewandowski, their attackers performed under performance, and they do unnecessary mistake during the match.

When they played against big teams, they are more focused and prepared better. Xavi put their best players in the starting lineups. Barcelona players also struggle all out due to the prestige of the matches. But in the match against small teams, they may play ineffective. They seem a bit underestimate small teams, Xavi also sometimes rotate the starting lineups that make a change on Barcelona game.

If recall well, last season either Real betis or Getafe started well but by the end of the season, they had dropped a good number of points.

Yes, you are right on that because football is full of surprises and sometimes even the smallest team can put up a winning against a bigger team and more also we have to look out for several things that can and will help our decisions such as the possibility of confronting opportunities as the are presented to both teams,  and also best the chose to react to them and to what directions,  all this makeup for the large portion of our decisions making.

But then, at the end of the 90+, we will know which team between the two is the lucky one to win the match,  but I still have a strong feeling that the match will end in a draw.

It is undeniable that Barcelona's decline in performance is due to the fact that many of their core players are currently injured. No matter how strong the club is, when many of the main team are injured, this will definitely not go well. Moreover, there are 7 players who are currently experiencing injuries. That will definitely have a big impact, because they occupy crucial lines in the squad. Currently, of course Barcelona is also focused on recovering from the injuries of its players, and of course Xavi has a very difficult and confusing job because he has to think about how to survive and still get points. Btw it was only a draw and I think that even if it does hurt their form but not overall in terms of the title race as they remain the strongest candidates apart from Madrid in the La Liga trophy race this season.
Just because it's a draw doesn't mean they immediately can't compete even if you look at the current conditions, until week 9 Barcelona is the only club that has never tasted defeat so it's quite ridiculous to say Barcelona has no chance of winning back the championship they got last season.

Barcelona is definitely picking up form Sommer than we can expect,  Girona will definitely start dropping points when they begin to play against big teams such as Atletico Madrid, Sevilla, Real Madrid and Barcelona. They will drop points and the big boys will be seen ascending the tops position on the table but then they can manage to finish well if they can try not to go down too bad after all the tough encounters.

But their good start is laudable as they were not this good last season, they didn't start this well the only struggled to still stay in the league but this season they are better, they should continually focus on getting better and soon they will be the champions some day probably when they must have grown so good enough to displace the likes of Real Madrid, Barcelona and other bigger boys in the league. But then I still keep an open mind as this is foot ball and anything can happen surprisingly.

I just wonder if Girona can continue this their consistent form till the end of the season. Finishing in the top 6 of the league won’t be an easy one for them to undertake looking from the teams that are involved and have potentials to finish in the top 6 also. There is always a first time to something though, it Girona can continue with this form, they will be able to retain that position by end of the season.

Barcelona might have lost some vital points to Girona but they are still in a very much good position to remain and contest for the league title. The points they lost to Granada was unavoidable by them and it happens to any team at anytime. La Liga is here again, we watching top teams having their best moment on the pitch, while some are underperformed, having zero chances of winning, perhaps these teams will bounce back during mid-season to compete an unfinished job, I'm talking about Barcelona. Xavi Hernandez have the key to unlock the glory of the blaugrana but severe injuries is basically the barrier delaying their progress, because injury targeted the key players and they're unavailable for important matches. Barcelona having minor setbacks against average teams this season, if they're keen on surviving, they will need enough energy to put into games specifically against average and elite teams, because that's only way to survived competitive opponents.

Barcelona has suffered more defeats than necessary against smaller teams this season, yes, it is true that important players were not in these matches, especially the absence of only Lewandowski in the team puts their offensive organization in a very bad situation.

The meeting between the two teams this season will not be like the meeting between the two last season because Girona have shown their prowess this season. So in the match against Almeria I am sure Girona will be able to win this match. They are too strong this season, plus they are the hosts in this match, so there is a big possibility that Girona is the favorite to win this match. Their progress is quite good in Laliga this season because after losing to Real Madrid in the previous match, Girona was able to bounce back to winning ways.

I think that with Almeria's poor performance this season, there is a big possibility of placing a bet on Girona winning this match. Apart from that, Almeria has a fairly weak defense, so it can be said that Girona will be able to score several goals in this match.

Barcelona got 2 draws recently which were both 2-2 against Granada and Mallorca. This loss of four points caused Real Madrid and Girona both get past them in the standings. However I think Barcelona will make up for these point losses by a decent win next week. They are going to have a home game against Athletic Bilbao.

Honestly Athletic Bilbao have made a good start to the season as well. But I still think they will have serious difficulties in Camp Nou. Barcelona have been really dominant against them in the recent times. I expect this domination to be maintained and they should add another win to their collection.
