first of all barcelona has had financial constraints that have hit them in the past 3 seasons so many barcelona players are in arrears of their payments. well in such a situation it is very difficult for barcelona management to get rid of aging players because if they do this then they have to pay money in advance for the arrears that occur. pique for example where in one of the sports news that I read he has given everything for barcelona in his career but this season he seems to have been sidelined from the barcelona squad and finally he decided to retire.
