I think that for people who have very familiar with the real madrid and seeing the line up that being used by ancelotti against real sociedad is enough to determine if real madrid would not be performing so well. Real madrid is missing so many players.

I was much more surprised when I saw the odds bookmakers had set for the game, Real Madrid at 4minutes in had 2.24 odds, this is Real Madrid, second on the table and champions in the UCL.  But, when you see how much the team was diluted, the absence of Benzema, Luka Modric, Vini Jnr and even Camavinga, there is no one there to push forward. We had Rodrigo, Asensio and T. Kroos to try but, they weren't going to get no where. With the way Real Madrid is losing points in La Liga, it is very challenging to stay in the second position of the points table.  Real Madrid lost 2-0 to Real Sociedad in today's match. Real Madrid lost this match but T. Courtois was excellent in this match.  He saved many balls. Despite losing the match, T. Kubo(4.2*) was the highest rated player followed by T. Courtois(4*).

this is not a surprising result because indeed in the last few matches Real Madrid has played very badly and there is no greater desire in the remaining La Liga matches after they were far behind on points from Barcelona and unfortunately now Real Madrid has the potential to drop to 3rd place in the La Liga standings because of Atletico Madrid currently only 2 points apart and Atletico haven't played 1 match this week, it is very possible for Atletico to replace Real Madrid in 2nd place in the standings.

Even with Toni Kroos, Real Madrid's midfield still lacks creativity and Modric's role is really needed to organize the midfield.
