I have to say Barcelona is not looking good at all. In the last 5 games, they have two losses and two draws in the last 5 games, they are sort of lucky because Real Madrid lost two games too, but right now real is behind two games, so they could win two more, get six points and reach to 39 points. That could literally make them higher, I can totally understand why people would expect something like that too. Girona game is about to start, and if Real could win this one, they are going to end up with much future without a doubt, I feel like that's the most important aspect of it and I believe we are going to end up with something much better here for them, a bright future at least.

Barcelona's performance has become very erratic. The top spot of the table is still in the hands of Barcelona. After losing points in three consecutive matches, the Barcelona team was able to win against Mallorca by a big margin of 5-1. Barcelona's overall performance in the match was excellent. But in the next match, Barcelona lost points again against Real Betis. Barcelona drew the match 2-2. I definitely expected Barcelona to win this match. With such an irregular performance, it will not be possible for Barcelona to keep the top spot of the table.

Madrid lost 2-1 against Athletic Club in the last match. Now Madrid is playing against Girona. Girona is not a very weak team. If Madrid does not play well, they are likely to lose points. Vini and Rodry are not in Madrid's squad today. It will be difficult for Madrid to win the match without these two important players.

And what annoys me the most in this scenario is that the teams in question is not even a bigger team that I would say that at least most of their toughest games are off their minds for now, but no, they still have bigger matches coming up, so losing point against these teams you made mentioned is like a massive step backwards in their quest for the title, and these recent results has made real madrid moves in to a more favourable position in their quest to win this year laliga, because at first it looks like Barcelona were run away with the title, but their recent dropping of points has claws them backward,  which have made other teams like real madrid and atletico madrid to close the gap on them, especially if they can both win their game in hand.

I just wonder what could have been the point difference if those game were no draw or lose for Barcelona, just win… the margin could have been something to secure them against future games with those point . I didn’t know the game would be an early one today so I didn’t watch it but I’m glad I didn’t because it would have  changed my mood drastically FR, it did change but not as watching it lol. Todays was secured with 2 to 1 already until last minute when they conceeded another goals just because they were so relaxed   and once again the wasted the effort of that kid(Lamine Yamal), Hansi flick receives a red card.. what a well packed game.

Yamal was the MVP of the match and his contributions was felt because he assisted in the second goal with a brilliant pass. However, Barcelona always score first before their opponent but they couldn't hold on for so long before the goal would be equalized.

Barcelona was unlucky in this match. Otherwise, Barcelona team would have been able to get 3 points in the match. Barcelona's overall performance in this match was very organized. However, Real Betis players were able to attack a lot in this match.

Real Betis scored their first goal in the 68th minute from a penalty spot. And Real Betis scored their second goal in extra time after 90 minutes. Barcelona conceded a goal in the last minute and the match was drawn 2-2. If Barcelona defenders had performed a little more carefully, maybe the match would have ended 2-1 and Barcelona could have gotten 3 points.

I'm curious how is Barcelona in a challenging moment this season?
If you said this last season when they were actually having a serious injury woes I would have accepted this claim. They are just inconsistent and maybe the referee decision which they will often complain about (especially their fans) when they lose.

They just to be consistent, if you watch the game you will see why Real betis deserve a  point because they had more better chances of scoring if not not for good saves and defending from the Barcelona team. The bets team pressed more to deserve a win or a draw. Real Madrid are actually the team with serious injuries crisis this season, if not for thus they would likely be topping the league now.

Is your advice for Ancelotti to be benched Mbappe for the other players you mentioned, to play? Inasmuch that Mbappe has missed two penalty kickouts, that's not enough reason to have Mbappe benched because his presence in every match of Real Madrid is quite felt. The least Ancelotti could do is to stop Mbappe from being the penalty taker of Real Madrid, that sounds okay that way than not to bench him for another lesser player, who wouldn't match up with Mbappe's qualities in the field of play

Carlo Ancelotti should learn how France utilized Kylian Mbappe during the fifa world cup against Argentina. They should free him up and not play him as a number nine,  that's the best way to unlock his potential. Well, it's goodnews to see Vini and Alaba return to full training.

Honestly I was expecting Girona to be soft in this game, aside from the goal the host played very well but their chances need to find the back of the net, without goals they can win this game and Madrid is not as deadly as they used to be as of last season, knowing very well the opportunity they have to close the gap on the table since Barcelona decided to draw against Real Betis, winning this game is a chance to come close to the top and they might top the table if the win this game and the one at hand. If Vinicius and Rodrigo comes in I don't think Girona defenders will have peace and they will commit those defenders more than the other players have.

Benching a player goes beyond missing important penalty in the space of three games. It is also dependant on how the player behave on the pitch, training and if the player want to take responsibility for his mistakes.  Mbappe has been disappointing even outside missing the penalty especially against Liverpool match in tge Champions.

Ancelloti has also spoken about him still being among the key penalty takers, that he is not changing anyone role and I think he will stick to this till further notice. Mbappe in today's game has been given to number nine tole and I hope he can do better in this game.  Although Real Madrid was leading already before the first half ending thanks to a goal from Jude Bellingham.

 Real Madrid and Mbappe both need each other. Mbappe is a young player with great potential whose talents are yet to be fully unveiled. Real Madrid did not spend any money on Mbappe; he was signed on a basis of no cost transfer. This was a clear good deal both in business and sporting terms. With extraordinary abilities that Mbappe has, he can become a very valuable long-term asset for the Madrid team-especially with the maximum performance that can be achieved by the team in terms of unlocking potential.

The score has changed to 3-0 and although we don't know for sure who will come out as the winner in this match, but a 3-0 difference is a big enough score, so it is unlikely for Girona to equalize. The second goal was scored by Ar Guller, while the third goal that was just created was done by Mbapee. And I hope Real Madrid will increase their advantage again and become a goal party in this match.

as it turned out to win the match was not difficult for them, only if they do not concede 3 goals in the last 20 minutes, which is unlikely to happen.... Barcelona are not happy with their game, they managed to lose the victory at the very end of the match in the added minutes, I can't understand it in my head to be honest. Girona are not an easy club to beat but their effectiveness this season has decreased when compared to last season so looking at the performance on the field now it looks like an easy point will be obtained by Madrid in this match.

I actually prefer to see them with a 4-3-3 scheme but it looks like Ancelotti prefers to minimize the midfield to make it more complex but at the moment it is quite effective where 3 goals have managed to get them in this match.

This gives us hope again especially with 1 point obtained by Barcelona of course the opportunity for Madrid is now very wide open to compete for the trophy again.

Recently I have watched Barcelona and they don't seem to control the game fully like a big team there is always that hunch in your that the other team can easily get back that's why for Barcelona to win a match they need to be lucky to get those opportunities that takes the match away from their opposing team.
Once a team can keep the score to atleast 2 goal deficit then they can still come back against Barcelona. Flick needs to work on Barcelona match control the players easily loses focus especially in the second half.

The more Barcelona are losing or drawing their matches, the more easier it becomes for Real Madrid to also play and win their pending matches. They give them the most morale for the outstanding matches and this is something they’ve always wanted, to be at the top of the league standings. Barcelona are really messing everything up after been occupying the first place with a very good number of point between them and their closest opponent. It’s so unfortunate now that they have to fall behind on the table. Real Madrid still have an outstanding matches to be played and Barcelona is just two points above them now which clearly indicates that when they win their outstanding match, they’ll immediately be replaced from the first position. It will not be an easy task for them to reclaim that first place, they just need to keep up and not allow much points gap between them because that’s another sign of them being able to catch up again in the future when the need arise.

In fact, Real Madrid has a great opportunity to overtake Barcelona from the top of the standings, but the problem is that Real Madrid also has the same problem regarding the inconsistency of its performance. I did not watch this match but based on the statistics of the match it seemed that both teams played with attacks each other with 10 shots and Real Madrid dominated with 7 on target and Girona 4 on target yeah actually not too bad and the final result Real Madrid can secure 3 points. As you said Real Madrid is only 2 points behind and next week they will take over the top of the standings because Madrid has one match to play against Rayo Vallecano.

On the other hand Barcelona is really disappointing when they only played draw against Betis, in the last 5 matches Barcelona only won once and lost 2 times, we don't understand what the problem somehow their performance worsened even though at the beginning of this season Barcelona always played aggressive.
