Atletico Madrid does have a decent team, Simeone managed to make that "rebuild" nearly seamless, sure they had a season or two where it didn't look good, but look at how strong they were this time. They will be third in the league, semi finals at cup, and last sixteen at UCL, a great way to start first leg of rebuilding stage.

Now, all they have to do is put on top of this, they do not even need new players, they can keep the core 20 players, and then they could just try again next year, without any new transfers, and can do better. I am sure they won't do none, they will probably get some players, but they do have a great team and they do not need to, so that is a great potential for their future and what they may do soon.

A few days ago i commented (i think here) how bad was this month for the Atletico Madrid, and now is all confirmed, they lose a ton of points for the local tournament against weak teams, they go out of the Champions League against Real Madrid in a very bad luck way, and now they are also out of the last cup remaining to win for them, and was again by a slighty margin.

This season has been a bad season for Atletico Madrid, at first they played very well, victory after victory was achieved, point after point was obtained, until the fans thought they had a great chance to win the trophy this season, even many made them one of the favorite clubs, due to solid play, have good coordination between players, have a strong striker. However, in the last few games they have suffered defeats that have caused them to lose points, plus Real Madrid has always been their shadow behind, making them even worse.

I don't understand why bad luck always befalls Atletico Madrid, I mean they have a great coach, players who are no less great, but fate has never been on their side.

In as much as I think Rayo vallecano is in good form and Espanyol hasn't been too consistent I think it's a crazy odd especially when Rayo vallecano isn't Barcelona, Real Madrid or Atletico Madrid.

You just said my mind. Atletico don't have the strength to be consistent in their matches till the end of the season in order for them to win the title. They're easily distracted with little things like Arsenal, that cannot remain focus on winning the title. I can understand that Atletico rivals are too strong and have that winning spirit in them, but whenever Atletico has the opportunity, they should make use of it.

The opportunities that Atletico Madrid will have this season may be too few and even too small because now the number of games in La Liga is getting smaller so that it will make it more difficult for Atletico Madrid to reach the top of the standings. Moreover, now Atletico Madrid are nine points behind the leaders which has made Atletico out of the title candidates this season and only Barcelona and Real Madrid are left. Because the two teams are still quite close in points at this time and it is still possible for a change in position.

Athletico Madrid fell of the grid in the race for the La'liga title this season right from their three games with  Getafe, Barcelona and Espanyol which they dropped points in all these matches leading to their 9 points behind Barcelona the table leaders. So it's obvious ATM have lost their way in the race and what they should be fighting for now is points to hold in for a spot for next season's UCL by making sure to finish third place. On this about Carlo Ancelotti you're very decent on him. He's one those few coaches with a quiet character on the pitch, very calculative of the game to get results as the opportunity presents. By experience he's far weigh above Mikel Arteta league and it's just common that Arteta can only give his best of strategies in this game and hope to be lucky. Because in all ramifications Real Madrid seems to be ahead of Arsenal  having won this UCL trophy as many times as can be recalled meanwhile Arsenal haven't found a season to their name.

You're right this game is a very difficult game to predict because both teams has what it takes to win this game so  this game will be decided by which team took their chances and created opportunities in the game because both sides are skillful and dangerous going forward, I think this season Barcelona has had the better side against madrid so let see what Barcelona can do when the final comes up,I wish the two teams good luck into this game

Both things are very powerful, and they know each other's weaknesses. Imo tomorrow should be another win for Barcelona, they come so far than to mess things up against Realbetis at the currentstate.
Although, their last game wasn't that promising against Athletico ( was Copa del rey anyways) especially their defence, it was somehow weak at some point but I hope that  would be fixed already, it happens sometimes..  but tomorrow all  I expect is at least 3 goals from Barcelona and a win I hope I'm not exaggerating it because king Anthony will be playing for Betis.

Atletico Madrid remaining 9 points left from Barcelona and small chance for winning La Liga trophy in this season, but have 9 matches left depend with Barcelona and Real Madrid matches result keep consistent secure three points or not. Considering 9 matches left in La Liga, Atletico Madrid not face any top standings team except Real Betis at last games week if can secure all three points matches left actually still have chance if Barcelona and Madrid losses points.

However, Barcelona and Real Madrid are favorable team for La Liga tittle race in this season both teams remaining 3 points and face each other at El Clasico match next month, still difficult for predicting which one team closer to be the winner although Barcelona leading the top position with 3 points left but Madrid still have chance if can beat Barcelona at games week 35.

While Valencia tries to stay far away from the degradation zone, where have their own motivation to win this match.  Football is really filled with surprises because in the game against Rayo Vallecano and Espanyol, I did not expect to see that number of goals being played especially against a team who rarely concedes that amount of goals. Vallecano have been pushed to 8th spot but  would have seen themselves moving closer in points to Real Betis had they won the game but got themselves embarrassed at their home turf by a very well underestimated Espanyol.
 When I see clubs like Rayo Vallecano fighting for European competition next season I begin to ask myself what the likes of Sevilla, Girona and even Valencia are doing because these are the ones that should be even in those top ten spots but you won't find them there.
