Real Madrid and Barcelona both dropped points this week.Real Madrid lost at home while Barcelona drew with Betis.Valencia goalkeeper Mamardashvili put in a very good performance.Their goalkeeper played a big part in this win.Hugo Doro's winning goal in the last minute gave Valencia an important 3 points.Valencia should be very happy to get 3 points from such an away game.
Barcelona, on the other hand, couldn't stop Real Betis, the in-form team of the last few weeks.Barcelona played a dominant football against their opponent, but had difficulty in defeating their opponent.Betis getting points away from home in such a match is important for them because they are still in the race for the top 5 with their rivals.They are 1 point ahead of Villarreal despite having 2 games less and this must be bothering them a lot.

This were the kind of weekends where one will think that one of the clubs will capitalized on each others point drop, seriously yesterday I watched Madrid and how they actually struggled to win the game and my thought was maybe they are relaxing ahead of the game to Arsenal in the champions league. Vinicius should have actually put the club ahead but Mamardashvili denied him from the spot, this is another decisive penalty miss yet again by Vinicius after not missing any from a long time before, I think he should be rested awhile on penalty duties and allow to regain his confidence back. Mamardashvili Is one of the brightest stars in this awful season Valencia is having, it’s a relief that he would be joining Liverpool after the end of the season.

Barcelona on the other hand blew away the chance of extending the gap between them and Real Madrid who they saw dropped points early, a win would have seriously put the league almost in their hands, but the four points gap is still a good gap. As for Real Betis I think they should have won the game with Isco on the pitch but his absence was felt, the one point was a good one for them as they chase champions league football

I didn't bet on it but predicted the BTTS in the Barcelona - Betis game. I thought Hansi Flick's students wouldn't leave any points at the end as well but here we are... This is again a silver lining for Real Madrid while they were nearly losing the title for sure.

4 points is still not a gap to be underestimated of course. But Barcelona are very advantageous. Because apart from that, they still have another El Clasico to play in the league. Winning that game would seal the deal unless the gap changes drastically until then.

Girona continue to drop points.Things are getting hotter in the relegation zone because 2 teams are close to the relegation zone.Alaves should be happy to come back from this away game with a win because they managed to score an important 3 points.They increased their points to 30 but the points difference with their rivals is not very big.
Mallorca, on the other hand, lost the match with goals in the second half of the game after leading the first half.Both teams do not have much purpose in the league.I see the chances of both teams to finish in the top 6 of the league as low.Celta Vigo will push for 6th place after this win, but it is obvious that their job is not easy.

Well, Vinicius wouldn't be the last person to miss a penalty and wasn't the first. I love Real Madrid but for some personal reasons, I don't think I want to see them win the La Liga Competition this season. Finally lost to Valencia after a long time. Props to Betis. They have been great since signing Antony on loan from Manchester United same time unbeaten. It's lovely to see how much he's improved. The british media painted him a bad player.

Funny enough I was not even annoyed at the penalty miss, I was just laughing as he missed despite the fact that I played Real Madrid to win. I knew penalty is anyone's game and anybody could miss it at any point in time. I was only furious with the way they played, the way they allowed Valencia to hold the ball and come at them while they defended. For some weeks now that's how Real Madrid has been playing, no matter the opponent, they always come at Real Madrid more often that isn't supposed to sit well with a big team like Real Madrid. The draw of Barcelona would have been of advantage to Real Madrid only if they had won Valencia.

Atletico Madrid must be able to win if they want to stay in the top three of the standings because currently Bilbao’s points are also quite close to Atletico Madrid so in today’s match Atletico Madrid must be able to motivate themselves to be able to win even though they have to fight very hard. Sevilla may not give Atletico Madrid space when attacked, but Atletico Madrid must be able to break down Sevilla’s defense in order to win this match. Because if Atletico Madrid loses again in today’s match, I doubt they will stay in the top three this season.

Atletico is been equalized and now at a 1-1 draw scoreline against Sevilla but they still maintain their third position with 58 points even with this particular scoreline.  Even if they eventually loose they will still maintain that solid position ahead of Bilbao but a win will keep them some good points away from Bilbao but I don't want to think that's exactly a problem to them now,  they have still gotten that chance of maintaining their position regardless of the result of this game but I'm hopeful that in the second half they will be able to their best enough to get a victory by the end of the game as they have actually been playing well in this game.

If this is about Atletico Madrid having any chances to win the league this season, you have to forget it because it's not going to work for them. If they had wanted to make the league their only priority this season, they would have started it long ago when Barcelona and real Madrid were having difficulties. I agree with you @Justbillywitt you’ve said exactly what I was thinking, the pressure on barça is only coming from Real Madrid and the fact they’re both still competing in 3 different titles is not reason enough for Atletico to take the reins for the league, they didn’t start early and didn’t capitalise on the bad run of forms of Barcelona and Real Madrid.
I have this feeling that this Barcelona team wants to win a treble and Madrid is still fighting for a trophy, we know how Madrid is when it comes to Champions league and facing Barcelona again at the Copa del Rey finals, hmm …. Even though Atletico Madrid was 1 goal behind in the first half from the 7th minute to the 25th minute, fortunately Atletico Madrid got a penalty kick which made the score equal at 1-1 in the first half. And actually this match almost ended as disappointingly as the Real Madrid vs Valencia match or the Barcelona vs Betis match. But fortunately Atletico Madrid managed to score another goal in the final minutes of added time which enabled Atletico Madrid to get full points in this match. But to be honest, I think Atletico Madrid's performance is still unstable and have not yet returned to their best performance again. Even Atletico Madrid's defense is currently quite weak.

The match currently taking place is the Valladolid vs Getafe match. And it seems that Getafe will get full points in this match and make Valladolid sink even further at the bottom of the standings.

Yeah, at least they have won this much needed win and brought themselves back to within 3 points of second placed Real Madrid. Real Madrid lost to Valencia at home. This was an unforeseen defeat for them. It can be seen as a big problem before the Champions League games. Everyone knows that Real Madrid plays very well in big games, but they shouldn't have lost this game in the league. Because it was a game they played at home and they should have won this game, actually when you consider the game they played in the cup, they lost their last two games. A hard-earned victory for Atletico, they needed a penalty and a goal in the stoppage time to earn their 3 points, but they did it and are closing in on Real Madrid with only 3 points in between them. Although Real has a much better goal difference, so realistically speaking, Atletico would need to make up 4 points to jump into the 2nd place. With 8 rounds to go, that's not impossible.

I don't think is possible for Atletico Madrid to win the la Liga title this season they had the opportunity to win it before but now they have lost that opportunity for me Barcelona are the team that will lift that la Liga trophy this season one can't use because Atletico Madrid won today's match between them and Sevilla and say they will win the trophy, if you check the table you will see that Barcelona has 67 point and Atletico Madrid has 60 point meaning Barcelona is topping Atletico Atletico Madrid with 7 point and with the determination Barcelona is using to play I don't think they will lose match that much before this season will end and there's no guarantee that Atletico Madrid will not lose match as time goes on and let's not forget that real Madrid is still topping them however not much just 3 point but before we can start saying Atletico Madrid has hope of lifting the la Liga title this season is when they have top real Madrid but for now I see no hope for Atletico Madrid the season is already coming to an end.
