Simeone is not the only one that have stayed in a club for more than a decade but what kept those coaches there was their good performance and Simeone has equally done that but in the past. Honestly, i was very disappointed with what Atletico Madrid played against Espanyol, the result I saw was not what I expected, despite Espanyol are the hosting of the game, I expected a victory from Atletico Madrid because they are among the strongest teams in the league which are expected a win from them. Espanyol did a very wonderful job by proving me wrong by winning their first match of the season at their own home. It was a big win for them and equally a very starting point

14 years of career is like grooming a baby to become an adult, that duration is very long to be honest 8 trophies under this year is something great that deserves some recognition but there should be a time we call it a quit. I'm very sure that there are more qualified coaches in Fifa that can do much more job than him but they didn't bring another person. Let's even say they couldn't find another person right now, they could have gave him 1 year contract to make changes later but they gave him 2 years to 2027.

I don't know what to call it but the situation is a bit awkward. Unless Simeone is having some stakes in Atletico Madrid for him to turn the club to a family investment, by now the team would have free him of his duty because I'm not sure if he is going to win Laliga trophy this season. He might be able to stand Real Madrid for the race but the current form of Barcelona is too good to allow Atletico win this league this season, they are not going anywhere even this season.

Exactly, it was obvious the tempo went down after the second red card for Mallorca, if not there should be nothing less than 6 goals in that game but whats the point anyway.. Even with that, they still dominated the game with a good margin which looks enough that having a lot of goals for the particular game.

I think Barcelona is one of the strongest teams in Europe right now. They have some young players who can turn the game in Barcelona's favor at any time. The performance of all these young players was great for Barcelona in the first match of La Liga and because of the performance of these young players, Barcelona secured the victory in the first match. Many will say that the team that Barcelona played against in the first match was weaker than Barcelona, but no matter how weak a team is, when they play, they play with the intention of winning and no matter how difficult the opponent is, the players try to play at their best. Barcelona started the season with a win and they have to continue this winning streak in the future.

I am especially looking forward to watching the Barcelona vs. Real Madrid matches. Real Madrid did not win a match against Barcelona last season, so this season's El Clasico matches will definitely be difficult for Barcelona, but if Barcelona can give their best on the field, then it is possible to win against Real Madrid this season as well.

Diego Simeone will be disappointed with his team. They were the favourites and they also got the first goal. It would have been ideal for them to score more goals or defend very well in order not to concede. It was Pere Milla's stunning header that made my day. It made me recall those days of amateur football games where I was one of the best headers. That goal will compete for the best of the season. 

This win will be a morale booster for Espanyol. It has shown them that they have the capacity to beat any side. Atletico Madrid will have to go back to the drawing board to identify their lapses and improve accordingly.

You're right Simeone deserves some accolades for doing that much for the club but because of his style of play he can't be given much credit. I don't really think there are many coaches that can do this much for them and it's not really easy to challenge the likes of Barcelona and Real Madrid. In my opinion I think It's better to be loyal and be with a person that can assure top performance than risk it and try to appoint a new manager that has a 50/50 chance success. Things might even get worse for them so they better stick with him till the end and besides getting a good coach is not easy now and there is no many qualified coaches around anymore unless the ones that failed in managing a team and got sacked and I don't think appointing them is the right thing to do.

They always make it to the champions league and always end 3rd and sometimes challenge for the title and even win at times which is good enough if u ask me.

Sometimes substitutions are considered a blunder simply because of a loss - but I believe Diego Simeone made them to improve the game's efficiency and open up more chance to score more than just one goal. In the end - we all understand that in football, the team that dominates the game doesn't always win. Atletico Madrid's loss was certainly unexpected, but they couldn't avoid it, despite Diego Simeone's efforts.

I just checked the standings - apparently Barcelona are top with 3 points and have scored 3 goals in their first game. Atletico Madrid have had a less than satisfactory start to the season - not terrible, but losing is often considered a bad thing. They still have plenty of chances as they have 37 games left - it's only the start of the season, so it won't be decisive.

Yeah, obviously these two have capped such nice displays, especially Yamal Jamal, who was too good. He is the guy after Messi who has the capacity to lead the team into great things. I really appreciate his performance, and honestly, in the future, he can take the leadership of his team just like Lionel Messi. But anyway, let's talk about team performance. You're right atletico Madrid is more of an average team because going by their performance in the last few years they can't be classified as a team that is a threat to the Spanish laliga anymore as they have not been competitive enough to challenge for the league title finishing in the top four has been their target nowadays

I have seen Atletico Madrid always unlucky against Espanyol. The team has not been able to win any of the last 5 matches against Espanyol. All 4 matches have been draws and we saw Atletico's defeat in yesterday's match.

It’s not just Atletico Madrid, they usually give top teams in Laliga a tough time and they even beat Real Madrid the last time they faced each other.
They’ve improved a lot recently, though many of their games end in draws or unexpected losses... overall they’ve improved.

ATM don't usually get the opportunity to succeed in laliga every season, they usually find it difficult to challenge many clubs in the competition. You are right they are just average team in the league competition, some time they will perform good and some they will perform poorly to make you hate them. The comeback the opponent did to them this weekend was very surprising. I didn't expect they will lose three point easily. Real Madrid are playing there first fixture in the league tomorrow against Osasuna and am sure that the match will be Real madrid favour.

Xabi Alonso as be training is players very well so that they will be fit in the pitch.  Yeah, this one is definitely a fixture worth keeping an eye on. Last season’s two draws really show that Espanyol knows how to make life difficult for Atlético, even though on paper the gap between the squads looks obvious. Playing at RCDE Stadium is always a tricky atmosphere as well, and Espanyol usually feeds off that home energy.
That said, I think Atlético comes in this season with a bit more hunger. Simeone has been pushing for more consistency, and with the reinforcements they’ve brought in, they should have the edge. The result of this match ended in a draw, although in the first half until the second half in the 80th minute, Betis was still ahead by one goal, but after that Elche was able to equalize and finally this match ended in a draw. In this match, Elche was truly able to dominate the match very well, as proven in terms of ball possession and also Elche's chances were quite superior in this match. Perhaps if Elche had a better striker, I think they could have the potential to win in this match.

Because in this match there were many wasted opportunities that Elche players had. In addition, Betis also played quite well in this match.
