I'm not sure if it's fair to say that Osasuna was purely focused on defense. Even after conceding the goal, they couldn't do much and posed no threat to Real.
A minimum win but it's still a win. Real looked a bit sluggish but they didn't have their usual resting/preparation period. They only played one friendly after the FIFA Club World Cup semi-finals and jumped straight into the league season.
Still, the stats are massively in their favour, with 71% and 18 shots on goal (5 on target). The new sign-ups did quite alright as well, especially the defenders. Osasuna only made 2 shots on goal, none on target.

But, quite frankly, I don't see how this team could stop Barcelona from winning the league again. I just don't think this squad is good enough.

Considering the match statistic, fully sure Osasuna played fully defense when defeating by Real Madrid last week during 90 minutes without have any one shots on goal. Loss ball possession dominance and Osasuna only have 2 shot without any shot on target I think how their game play fully focus for defense without have build counter attack. Just got luckiness behind one goal conceded from penalty kick how Madrid most attractive controlling the games made 18 shots of 5 on shots on target.

If want to win the games, every team must play full offensive and create as many as possibility shots on goals if priority play full defense how to win the game in other side get difficulty for building counter attack. Next games against Valencia and surely if play full defense difficult for Osasuna winning the match exactly playing at home must play offensive if wanna scoring the goals.

There are levels to these things and Real Madrid has proven again that they are a classy team. I remember back then, Rashford has said in several occasions that Ronaldo is the best player but after he signed for Barcelona, immediately, he proclaimed Messi the best which brought back the old argument that Barcelona forces it players to say that their own is the best. Mastantuono press conference was few days ago and he proclaimed that Messi was the best player for him and their was no fuss or anything from Real Madrid. Class is indeed permanent.

That's it. Even a pro football should also adapt in where is he living. If Rashford said Ronaldo is the best when he's in Barcelona, i can't imagine how many hatred he will receive so many hates as we know many of Barcelona fans are Messi die hard. He's just killing his career if he's doing it.

If half of the easy chances converted, the game would have been 5-0. Not saying all their shots, literally just half of their chances.

In any case, I think it's close to what we are facing right now and that is why I think Ossasuna could be just a midtable team and nothing more. That isn't bad though, I mean they should be happy because they are spending midtable team money to players and everyone, so they end up where they deserve. Being worse than what you deserve is a worse situation, so being where they deserve is actually good in football world because you get what you expected.

The case of Rashford and Mastantuono is very different, he (Rashford) is English and he once played with Ronaldo at MU, it is natural that at that time he said Ronaldo was the best player, but after he came to Barcelona of course he had to change his view because he was playing for a club that had an endless feud with Real Madrid.

I know it was just 1-0 but they played a very very different style of football and that is a lot more narrow compared to other years as well and they played amazingly. They had so many chance and the goalkeeper just saved the balls so it is not like a big deal at the moment. I think it is clear that we are going to end up with a good result here for them this season.

This was the first game of the season and they are already showing signs that they are playing quite well. It means that they are going to play a lot better with this system when they get used to it. Mbappe was great, but this time they are playing with all players. Even defenders found open shots and took them, which wasn't something we saw that much before this season. Which means they are going to be a lot better with time.

Osasuna played a decisive game against Real Madrid, and although Real Madrid performed well, they lacked a creative midfield. If Real Madrid had a creative midfield that could make those last passes in the box, they would score more than one goal against Osasuna, regardless of how Osasuna defended. Barcelona will score more than one goal if they play because they have Pedri, who can make those passes.  Real Madrid relies on Arda Guler, yet he is incapable of making those passes.

He was correct, and a lot of Barcelona fans claimed that he was saying this because he had previously coached Real Madrid. Mourinho had played for Barcelona and was therefore familiar with the team. Barcelona is jealous of Real Madrid, which is why Real Madrid will always be ahead of them in everything. Real Madrid is the greatest club in the world, and their League titles, Champions League titles and best players have demonstrated that they are the greatest football team in history. If Barcelona has the opportunity, it will blame Real Madrid for its financial problems.

You should understand that when before xabi joined Madrid, from last season after the lost the chance to to counted for the champions league title after the crashed out from the champions league, ther was a progressive but gradual decline in their performance of which I believe even their mentality was affected so even in the club world cup they were not put out the Real Madrid effect we know them for and it has to now come back to a rebuild so it is very okay to judge their performance at this time as the decline is not one which just started or has it cause solely to be blamed on xabi, even time may not be all the need to improve.

With Osasuna everything is clear, they came to Madrid with only one goal, to stop Real from scoring and to hope that this way they could get a draw in the first round. But I think even they understood that Real would want to win their first match at home. Yes, maybe it’s an unconvincing victory by just one goal, but it’s enough to earn three points. And Osasuna’s defense is not that easy to score many goals against, so even such a result is quite acceptable for the first game.

In the starting lineup, it seems that Real Madrid will be able to deliver a strong performance and achieve highly satisfying results, especially with the addition of Arda Guler, Mbappe, and Vinicius to their attacking line. However, Real Madrid seemed to struggle breaking through Osasuna's defense. In the 24th minute of the first half, Vinicius attempted to penetrate the opposition's defensive line and then delivered a decent pass to Mbappe, but unfortunately, it did not result in a goal, as the shot was anticipated by Osasuna's goalkeeper. Similarly, in the 33rd minute, Mbappe nearly created a goal, but his shot nearly sent the ball into the opponent's net. By the end of the first half, no significant opportunities were created. In the second half, Real Madrid nearly had an opportunity to score through Mbappe's performance, who successfully broke through Osasuna's defensive line and even entered the opponent's penalty box. However, one of the Osasuna players fouled him, so the referee awarded a penalty, and Mbappe successfully converted it into a goal.

Real Madrid played well and dominated Osasuna, but since Real Madrid couldn't create good scoring opportunities, Real Madrid found it difficult to score against Osasuna, and if not for the penalty Real Madrid had in the second half, Real Madrid would have played a goalless draw with Osasuna at Santiago Bernabeu. On the one hand, we saw Osasuna playing very defensively and Real Madrid only needed 3 points, so I think excessive criticism is also inappropriate for Real Madrid in the first match. I think we should give time for all teams to even show their best performance as a whole, we shouldn't just judge from one match.
