I was so surprised when Real Madrid easily won against Athletic Bilbao because I never expected Real Madrid to win against Athletic Bilbao after they failed to win against Elche and Girona. I believe it was Barcelona winning against Atletico Madrid that motivated Real Madrid players to play as expected and win against Athletic Bilbao. You shouldn't blame Xabi Alonso for not using the tactics he used against Athletic Bilbao because he might be trying different tactics to know the one that will perfectly suit Real Madrid.

I was also surprised when Real Madrid won by three goals at Athletic Bilbao's home ground, and that could have been due to a new tactic that Alonso hadn't used in previous matches. But before I think about Alonso's new tactic, I'm more reminded of Athletic Bilbao, who were generally less than impressive at home against Real Madrid, resulting in a crushing defeat without a single goal in that match. And to ensure that this new tactic really works, I'll see how Real Madrid performs at home when they host Celta Vigo this weekend.

If not that Real Madrid is facing some challenges in this season, who is Athletic Bilbao people will doubt if Real Madrid will beat at home. It was not a surprised to me, because I knew that Real Madrid players will not going to take the game easy with Athletic Bilbao, which they did to dominate through out the game to beat Athletic Bilbao to secured 3 points to be a challenge to Barcelona in the la Liga league table. I guess is the new tactics Real Madrid coach has introduced, because Real Madrid played that game as if they are playing final game to lift the trophy.

Based on what happened in this game, I guess it will give Real Madrid more boldness to challenge their next opponent to embrace points that will make Real Madrid to top Barcelona, because there is a positive improvement in Real Madrid.

I think it's possible for Alonso to win a title this season. Barcelona is just a point ahead of them, we are close to halfway of the season and there's plenty of time  to see who is capable to lift the trophy  this season. Madrid is a strong club, they're more focused on winning titles than playing to qualify for UCL.

My problem here is, why the 3 consecutive draws since the know what they looking for and the position they were occupying, they know how competitive it becomes when legaue standing is as it is now, yap they still got some opportunities but that will be left for Barcelona to decide now, they had those opportunities on the tip of their hands earlier but as it is, Barcelona is at the top with just 1point no doubt but 1point can also crown them, it will now depend on Barcelona being able to keep a strong up run, I don't think anyone is saying RealMadrid is less of a team nah nah no one will ever say that but these guy would've conveniently be at the top in the league table but unfortunately they are not again and you'll agree with me that, even though they are to top again, itvm won't be easy this time.

This season's journey is still long and all clubs still have the opportunity to win and lift the trophy this season, So in this case with a very small points gap, Real Madrid still has a big chance to win the league if they can continue to win every match, and Barcelona is currently maintaining the top of the standings but they also have to be able to play well in every match to be able to win the league this season, so for me everyone still has the opportunity to lift the trophy.

Even if each team's efforts are the highest in terms of the possibility of winning the trophy, only one team can win the trophy in a tournament. Competition in La Liga continues to increase, but Barcelona itself has seen much more significant improvement so far, and Lewandowski's presence may provide better competition in the attacking line, giving Barcelona many options to utilize the potential of its existing players. Currently, Barcelona is at the top of the standings, and although not by much over Real Madrid, at least they have managed to overtake them. Barcelona must be able to maintain this consistency if they want to remain at the top of the standings, because a one-point gap over Real Madrid is not necessarily secure, as a draw in the next match and Real Madrid winning could change the standings again.

Yes, Barcelona certainly has the chance to do much better than the others, but I don't know if that's enough to do enough to give them the chance to distance themselves from the other teams in the league.

Nope, I didn’t see any new tactics when that game was played all I witnessed was seeing players ready to win games and press like animals fighting to win for the badge and also for the manager.
Atletico Bilbao was also bad bad, like they were no much of a big threat going forward nor attacking. Their fall off gas come by suprise one would think they will try to be consistent when they play for the Champions league competition.

Exactly what i wanted to say, a win against Bilbao is currently not something unexpected, especially with Real Madrid, Elche for me is even a bigger threat than Bilbao, plus there was no new tactics, it was same formation and principle Xabi has been using even in Leverkusen, it's just that it was that match that it was actually forcefully implemented by the players.

That match we saw Real Madrid press, and they didn't want attacks to reach there third, not like Bilbao poses any big of threat but Real Madrid tried, changing from 4-4-2 on defensive transition and overloading the midfield with 2-5-3 on attack whilst Valverde being the third man at the attack running back to cover the midfield and defense. It still needs tweaking but we will know when Real Madrid faces a massive opponent.

I really appreciate Mbappe's first goal because such goals are a treat for the eyes and you don't always see them scored like this. Mbappe is already a good performer, we saw good performances from him when he was at PSG, and when he played for France, he performed well, and now he is playing for Real Madrid and we are still seeing the best performances from him. After coming to Real Madrid, it has become easier for him to score goals because Real Madrid has several experienced and skilled players to help him.

Mbappe is a great player  of the present time. He has the ability to score a lot. Mbappe has also scored a lot in psg . And now he is playing  well in the Real Madrid jersey. Mbappe was the top scorer in la liga last season. He will be the top scorer this season too. Mbappe has scored 16 goals in La Liga this season. This is the highest. Torres and lewandowski are in second place. And both of these players have scored 8 goals  each. So if he does not face any major injury , Mbappe is  going to be the top scorer in La Liga this season again.

If Real Madrid had won the Champions League last season, he would have had a good chance of winning the Ballon d'Or. If Real Madrid won La Liga this season and if they won the Champions League, Mbappe's Ballon d'Or would be almost certain because like last season, Mbappe would be at the top of the La Liga goalscoring charts this season because he has scored a number of goals in just a few matches and he will continue to score goals throughout the rest of the season. The way Mbappe is playing at the moment, he is definitely a worthy contender for the Ballon d'Or, it remains to be seen whether he can continue his performances and win the European crown.

Expecting too much sometimes will end up disappointing, so we can not even take any chances at this point because you can not be too sure about a lot of things, and the duration he has stayed in Real Madrid is enough for him to have improved the performance of the club.  And so 6 months is not enough for Xabi to put things in order in Real Madrid, I'm sure he knows the kind of management his working for, if they get tired of him the next thing he will be reciving will be sack letter and to me it is worth it because for how long madrid have not been the madrid we use to know.

 When I saw the fixture, I just concluded it would be an easy three points from Real Madrid because Atletico Bilbao aren't in the best of form to even stand a club like Espanyol, much less an in form club like Madrid who are chasing a chance to climb back in top of the table.
There was no serious threat that the hosts posed to Madrid because it was clear that their backline and even midfield is so poor that they struggled to maintain possession of the ball for even 5 minutes.
I think if they don't fix themselves up, the usual spot of finishing 4th or 5th might elude Bilbao this season.

I don't agree with Endrick. He isn't even a winger and he is completely out of form because of not playing at all. But Rodrygo or Díaz would both be better alternatives for the right wing.

I know Valverde is like a joker for Xabi Alonso but he is more effective as a CM which is his natural position. Now Trent is out for 2 months due to a new injury, probably we will see Valverde playing as RB this time.  

I don't see Endrick as out of shape, i see him as very disheartened only by the fact that he just can't fit into the team and there isn't a coach who doesn't let him play, any coach, then it would be more effective for his career if he went to another team where he would find his footballing salvation.

Distancing themselves from other teams, of course they will do it in every match this weekend, it is a must for them to win every match. I think all teams have the same chance to catch up in the standings and gain points. This depends on the consistency of each team in each match. I think consistency is key in this regard, and teams that can consistently improve their performance from match to match will generally have a greater chance of achieving good results and winning titles, whether domestically or in other prestigious league competitions.

Yeah that’s just the fact this is the right time for Barcelona to be serious if they don’t want Real Madrid should take over the top spot from them. Because is just 1 point gap between with Real Madrid, and they will also try to put in much in their next match against Celta which is on 7th; and Barcelona also have match tomorrow it’s very important for them to win the match to boost their points.


Furthermore, if Barcelona mistakenly loss their upcoming match against Betis, they can definitely create a chance for Real Madrid to take over the top of standings, anyway let wait and see what will be the both of teams outcome.

With the remaining matches even now we are still in the early phase towards the middle of the season of course the opportunity is still very open at this time for each club to make their chances in the race for the trophy grow.

Madrid are still constrained by performance problems, although they currently only have 1 defeat during La Liga rolling but they are clearly having problems especially when 3 draws are felt and this is not too good.

Barcelona has always relied heavily on their goal-scoring prowess because they have an extraordinary attack. However, their defense has never been flawless. There are always gaps in Barcelona's back line. So, this team needs to improve their defense. Not only for La Liga, but also if Barcelona manages to go further in the UCL, where they will face even stronger opponents. And there, Barcelona will need a super-solid defense to face other strong teams that also undoubtedly have equally strong attacking lines.

Hansi Flick may still be struggling to improve this due to the limited number of defenders the team currently has. Perhaps Barcelona should take advantage of the upcoming transfer window to bring in some quality defenders for their team from the transfer market.

It's difficult to say whether Endrick is out of shape or not because he never plays. But since he's not been injured I don't understand how or why he should be out of shape. He doesn't play because Xabi Alonso, for some reason, doesn't see him ready and/or good enough to play for Real Madrid. Which is a little weird because Alonso has been giving a lot of space and play time to all the young player, Endrick is pretty much the only exception. But, as I was saying in another thread, it looks like Alonso doesn't really get along with the Brazilians.
