For me Real Madrid is a great team and this is an excellent starting point for any team, i must say that Mbappe and Vini are a bit selfish but because they know that they are the best, in certain cases they should have the opportunity to make themselves more available to the team and try to be more humble, this is the most important thing.

Sometimes it's unnecessary because it actually harm the team and selfishness displayed on the pitch can actually cost them points in certain matches.
Mbappé and Vinicius are indeed good players, but they also need to learn to work as a team to achieve much better results. While not all of their matches may seem selfish. In crucial matches, teamwork is sometimes more important than individual achievement.
Next season, they need to make changes because if the squad remains the same as this season, it will be difficult to break Barcelona's dominance in La Liga especially. I hope Real Madrid can make these changes next season.

We saw a very organized performance from Barcelona against Espanyol. Many thought that barcelona would play carefully in the match and secure a narrow victory. But I agree with you that barcelona considered this match as a warm-up match. They performed well against espanyol and won by a large margin of 4-1.

Barcelona lost at home against Atletico madrid. Barcelona will definitely want  to take revenge away. It is difficult , but not impossible. I am still optimistic for barcelona. Barcelona can qualify for the semi-finals. They are not giving up.

Even thou this is not champions league discussion thread but yeah the teams facing each other are from Laliga and that discussion fit on this thread as well. Football can be so dramatic sometimes and I won't be surprised if Barcelona make the come back but to be honest with I don't think Athletico Madrid will be that foolish to allow that happens. They recently lost to Sevilla on their weekend game playing on away. Simoen is a very dangerous guy when it comes to holding a team. But I would advise Athletico against any attempts to play a defensive game from the beginning until the end. Let them balance the game with attack and defend in order to prevent Barcelona from mounting unnecessary pressure on them that would eventual lead to goal.

This is not a serious problem. Barcelona has the record of winning at home against Atletico madrid. A few days ago, Barcelona won against Atletico Madrid in the laliga match. But the margin was  small. Barcelona won by a margin of 2-1 . Even then, I would say that barcelona has the ability to win against mtletico madrid even with a margin of 2+  goals.

Atletico Madrid are strong but their performance is inconsistent. We have seen this this season. Atletico played well against barcelona's 10 players in the first leg match. But I doubt if they can continue  this streak in the home match. This is a do or die match for  Barcelona. hansi flick will try his best to win.

If we're talking about their performance as a team and not the financial benefits they receive, then i agree. Real Madrid guarantees them elite standards through many state-of-the-art facilities, so the problem isn't financial at all. i think it's more that they had so many successes last season and now lack the drive to maintain their will to win. i think they should work more on the players' qualities to make them feel comfortable, rather than just focusing on tactics.

This is very true, they have had several series of successes and they can already begin to lack the drive towards achieving more of it, maybe it got boring, maybe If new players who has that hunger for success are recruited, they will push for wins and turn around things in the team because their focus at the time will be mainly to get the team to victory and win titles that will even be associated with them and be recorded with their career achievements.

How does a UCL game fit well on the laliga thread?

They recently lost to Sevilla on their weekend game playing on away. Simoen is a very dangerous guy when it comes to holding a team.

Sevilla simply wanted to drain their energy, knowing too well they have an important match in a few days. So they either wanted to gain a point from a draw or a win, since they have nothing to lose aside getting swept to the 2nd division.

I don't know how Real madrid has become this terrible because i can still remember when the season started when Xabi alonso was still the head coach i can tell the combination of Kylian mbappé and Vinicius junior was quite good and they were scoring goals then after the departure of Xabi alonso everything came crashing down on them, they lost their first place to Barcelona and ever then the team have not been as it use to be, now my question is could this problem come because of the change of coach or what? Because i am still very much confused, as Real madrid are embarking on another trophyless season again for the second time.

There is this complain the players has about Atletico Madrid grass, they complained that the goalkeepers always find it difficult to grip ball with the carpet, I have seen numerous complaints about their stadium but regardless of any complaints, this is not the right time to worry about it, they can win the match if only the coach address the problem of the team, the way they conceded two goals didn't go well with me but I will accept due to the red card they got.

The last time Barcelona did this kind of mistake, their next games was win all through in their last 5 games, there is nothing new that they are going to see in Atletico Madrid stadium that they have not seen before, even if it's hard for the team, the can do it and wouldn't see any problem. I just wonder why Hansi Flick kept Yamal on the pitch for 90 minutes... There was no need for it after getting 2-0 ahead against Espanyol in the first half.

I hope we don't see a tired and struggling Yamal in that match. I would really like to see a comeback by them.

Keeping Yamal on the pitch for the full 90 minutes when the game was already under control at 2- 0 didn’t really make sense. At that point, the smart thing would have been to rest him, especially knowing they have a very important Champions League game coming up in just two days. Yamal is clearly one of Barcelona’s key players right now and overplaying him like that could affect his performance in the next match. Fatigue is real and in big games like that, you need your best players fresh and sharp.

When the game was 2-0 to Barcelona, it was reasonable to keep Lamine Yamal on the field for the full 90 minutes as I think this will boost his confidence and give him the confidence to play the full match in the UCL quarter-final against Atletico Madrid. I like the fact that Flick treats these games as the same, meaning all of them are important despite the fact that his team lost 2 - 0 at home to Atletico Madrid in the Champions League, even I took thought he was going to rest most of his players and play them against Atletico Madrid but he didn't which means he treated the match over the weekend as an important match even though it wasn't a big team team he was up against.

It is very difficult for Real Madrid to maintain a consistent style of play or achieve any success with Vini and Mbappe.
notice how the other players have stopped playing one twos or making runs after passing the ball to Mbappe and Vini. They know the ball isn't coming back to them. they feel like they’d just be tiring themselves out for nothing and creating defensive vulnerabilities by leaving their positions. Flick don't have assurance of eliminating Athletico Madrid in the Champions League so he don't want to lose both the Champions League and the league competition, that is why he didn't rest is players so that they can get alot of gaps in the league competition. Now that they have secured 9 point in the league table that as give them hope to win the laliga tittle. Even they lose tomorrow against Athletico Madrid they no that they will win the league already, so I didn't see anything wrong to Hansi Flick of not keeping is key players in the pitch. In my view Barcelona have win the league title already and real madrid just need to do there best against Munich to eliminate them so that they can get hope in wining the Champions League.

At first the combination was not so perfect but later on it happened that they gradually got to the point where Xabi understood their positioning and then started combining them perfectly and within some time, the results started coming off clearly with some really good improvement.  His exit affected the team no doubt, but the team is not so terrible now, actually they need time abs maybe things can change.

I also expected Barcelona to give some rest to their key players for the upcoming Champions League, but when I saw that they did not rest any player, I viewed it as the Barcelona coach having taken the right decision. This is because they have more hope of winning La Liga than the Champions League. So, I think it is better for Barcelona to increase their chances of winning La Liga than to try to increase their chances of beating Atletico in the Champions League, which could later reduce their chances of winning La Liga again.

So, I like the step Barcelona have taken, as they did not try to rest any key players. It is very possible that if Barcelona had not used their full squad in the last match, they might have dropped points, which could have decreased their chances.If I remember what happened to Inter Milan, I always feel pain for them because last season they had a good chance of winning two trophies in the domestic league, but because of the Champions League, they messed up. In the end, they did not even win the Champions League. I have some level of confidence that if they had not shifted their attention to the Champions League, they might have won at least one of the two trophies
