Today the NBA confirms a return date.
The NBA Board of Governors voted to restart the regular season for the 22 teams in contention for the playoffs in a near-unanimous vote on Thursday afternoon and will recommence on July the 28th.

Part 2: NBA Returning
Out of 30 NBA teams, only 22 teams will recommence on July 28th.
Only the top 8 teams of each division will see out the season - these teams will miss out.

Knicks
Golden State
Timberwolves
Pistons
Bulls & Hornets

The restart would tentatively begin on July 31, the NBA stated, with the NBA Finals ending no later than October 12. The NBA Draft is scheduled to be held on October 15, and the 2020-21 season will begin on December 1 about two months later than previous years.
