Why hasn't any altcoin replaced bitcoin?

How do you expect any altcoin to replace Bitcoin when Bitcoin was the source used in the development of all altcoins. It is simply a fact that Bitcoin is irreplaceable and serves as main king of cryptocurrencies. Bitcoin is the most accepted crypto coin in the crypto space since it introduced blockchain technology which is the heart beat of the entire crypto ecosystem.

No altcoin will replace bitcoin anytime soon. the whole existence of cryptocurrency is only 10 years and for crypto evolution to take place we need 40 to 50 years. it is too early to ask for why no altcoin replaces bitcoin at the moment. by the way, still, there are very few people are using cryptocurrency in the world, wait for the mass adoption first.

Why hasn't any altcoin replaced bitcoin?

Only a better Bitcoin can replace Bitcoin.
A better Bitcoin:
- speed / faster transactions
- network capacity / more transactions
- better distribution / no whales

Build it and it will replace it immediately.

bitcoin is for transactions based and altcoins is for smart contracts so both serve blockchain in different purpose but nt to compete with one another

the cryptocurrency ecosystem is very small that why up to now no altcoin replaces bitcoin. the population of people using cryptocurrency up to date is not more than 200 million people. there is one thing people are forgetting, which is trust. and the people trusted bitcoin more than any other altcoin out there.

The reason why no altcoin hasn't replace bitcoin is because
1) bitcoin introduced crypto and blockchain to the world
2) Every altcoin dev only copy and edit the platform implemented by Satoshi.
3) Altcoin market are highly manipulated
4) Bitcoin have more user and support base than every altcoin in the market.
5) Most investors believe bitcoin is the safest investment in the crypto market.

I would say that Bitcoin is the first in the market and people got to know about Bitcoin before other altcoins entered the market. This an advantage I think. Besides, Bitcoin is the most popular cryptocurrency in the market now and the fields we can use it continue to widen.

Actually, some of them are as successful as bitcoin is if you're gonna look closely, look at big altcoins below bitcoin most of them are trash before and look how successful they are now tailing bitcoin in the chart of CMC.

There's a reason why. Though there are a lot of successful altcoins out there nothing is more powerful and influencing than bitcoin is, no one defeats the demand that bitcoin is generating through these years. And to think that there are too many altcoins the supporters are not that many as bitcoin is because some people prefer and support different altcoins.

It is difficult for Altcoin to be able to change the position of bitcoin and I judge from the popularity of bitcoin and Altcoin, and what I see that most people know is that cryptocurrency is bitcoin without knowing that cryptocurrency is all digital coins in it.
and besides that expensive bitcoin value makes many people choose bitcoin to invest because they want to have many advantages when investing compared to Altcoin, and there are many other reasons that Altcoin will not be able to replace bitcoin as the king of cryptocurrency.

This has been asked before that bitcoin cannot replace through these years. Indeed there are successful projects yet bitcoin is the most popular amongst other coins. People had trust in bitcoin and it’s features that could be easily accessible to use.

Bitcoin is the pioneer, no one can replace the pioneer ,also it has the highest value among all , when bitcoin goes down in my own observation the alts goes down too. That is why no altcoin replace it because all other coins are base on bitcoin price, and there are limited wallet that supports altcoins all of them are in bitcoin.

I think bitcoin has been one of the biggest innovations of the human in the past years. Many altcoins have been created after bitcoin. But none of  them have been successful as bitcoin is. Why is that?

Every new thing and every technology is usually replaced by a newer one as the world is always developing.

Because bitcoin is the mother of all coins in cryptocurrencies, and we all know that the value of altcoins is just relying with bitcoin (in my opinion) so nothing can replace bitcoin.

The first television built was mechanical, then electronic television were invented, then colour televisions, digital, 3D, ....
The first automobiles invented were steam-powered wheeled vehicles, then electric automobiles appeared. Now we have autonomous cars. Now we have Tesla model S. Now we have Lamborghini.
All of us know about the developments made in mobile phones.

Bitcoin is not a physical item that we can develop physically, unlike those gadgets that you said, especially television, we all know that there is a lot of television that is more high tech than the 1st one, because of every now and then, our technology is being develop day by day because people can improve it by physically change its appearance and its specification, unlike bitcoin that can only be used online.

Every thing is being developed. Every device is finally replaced by a newer one. Why no altcoin has replaced bitcoin till now? Do you think it will happen in future?

I think the reason why any altcoin haven't replaced bitcoin is that people tend to cling or go with the most trusted coin. Even me, I will go with the old yet most reliable and trusted coin. Also, many things or companies and the likes have adopted bitcoin more compare to the other coins, that's why it is better to stick with bitcoin than to the other coins.

We cannot predict the future. But as of now, from what I can tell, Bitcoin's future will still be holding its crown. We can't really say, but that's true, every technology would be replaced by another, more advanced and viable option for the people to use. Maybe it's not yet the time, or it's not yet in the making. But definitely at one time in the future, we would see more changes to crypto-space and we there's a high possibility that Bitcoin would also be replaced, given how fast people innovate these days.

I agree to that, XRP so far is the fastest altcoins when it comes to processing transactions, it is also a good to buy because it is very stable, good for hodling in the long period of time. Replacing bitcoin with altcoins would be a long term process as well (just kidding, it is impossible) It is the wildest dream that coin developer wanted but sadly it can't become a reality, without bitcoin, blockchain would never be invented and so as altcoins.

Bitcoin being use as the base form of exchange will stay at it's place replacing will be a long discussions to tackles. Even there's alts who offers better updated services but in the mind of investors and believers it's still bitcoin to have a bigger space to bring continuous success.
Not a fan of centralized project reason why I don't see any possibilities for XRP to surpassed bitcoin in any ways.

I think you're wrong, Bitcoin is not the fastest in terms of transactions, there are many Altcoins whose processing speed exceeds Bitcoin.  the exact reason why Altcoin is unable to replace Bitcoin is that Altcoin is just a CLONE of Bitcoin that is trying to take part in the crypto market with better innovation, and cloning will not be able to replace the first.

I agree to that, XRP so far is the fastest altcoins when it comes to processing transactions, it is also a good to buy because it is very stable, good for hodling in the long period of time. Replacing bitcoin with altcoins would be a long term process as well (just kidding, it is impossible) It is the wildest dream that coin developer wanted but sadly it can't become a reality, without bitcoin, blockchain would never be invented and so as altcoins.

XRP is also against Satoshi's vision and investing in looks like disrespecting the early investors and the creators of BTC imo.

There's no need of so many thousands of alts when we have one coin we can go for. I get it, some may have better tx speeds, fees etc but that doesn't make them better than BTC. We don't need a stable price. Actually, we shouldn't have to look at the price at all. We have to be here for the tech, but unfortunately it's all been turned into a profit-only asset and most of the investors don't even care how revolutionary this could be and what cryptocurrencies could evolve into.

Instead of sustaining projects similar to XRP and Libra, I'd rather stick to BTC and only a few more alts such as Monero (for privacy) which are still here after many years and have had a good history. The rest of them cannot be called junk (although most of them are), but it's nonsense to have so many coins to choose from. It would've made sense if we had the ready-to-go atomic swap exchanges, but that these take some effort for now to be set up and I'd rather not risk anything.

The crypto world is too young to be sure about anything. Each coin can bring great profit and at the same time, it might disappear. Coins are different and so their purposes and strong sides are. we shouldn't compare them. Personally I think that the crypto world is wonderful not despite, but because of its diversity.

Bitcoin is at the foundation of all altcoins and should be respected, coins and their developers should stop trying to harm Bitcoin with its false narratives and propaganda because if you harm Bitcoin you only harm the value of your own coin and all other altcoins. You also weaken the entire crypto-community. Its a very stupid game to play and ultimately achieves nothing. Plus, a lot of the ICO and AltCoins are really Shillcoins and Scamcoins aimed at benefiting someone or some group rather than showcasing a technology. i am sure Bitcoin is like a grandfather for all altcoins and will not replaced with anything else, but i never put everything on BTC.
