Avoid it! Due to people greediness, the scams ICOs are continuing to increase where many people are suffering. I do not investing anymore in ICOs because most of them are scams and for me it just wasting time and effort. There are a lot more investment that I can get more opportunities.
There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, but full nodes are more resource-heavy, and they must do a lengthy initial syncing process. As a result, lightweight clients with somewhat less security are commonly used.

We all know that there is a lot of ICOs back then and the only thing that we can do is to learn from the past and make sure to apply all of the lessons from those mistakes so we can avoid getting into that situation again. If you know a newbie who is just getting started in investing in ICOs/IEOs, you should help them and inform them about the criteria that they should base on when they are about to invest.

Unfortunately, as long as there are speculators, there will also be scamcoins, only for their games: but no real use case other than that.

This has been a pressing issue on blockchain and really need to be tracked. To me I feel once there's regulation all these issues regarding scams will stop or investors should do proper research before they invest in any platform to avoid having issue.

DT members can red tag bounty managers who conduct scam ICOs on the Bitcointalk forum. They may also leave negative feedback to users who promote confirmed fraud. Recently, I noticed that some even respected bounty managers do not pay much attention to the credibility of the team. In other words, they do not evince due diligence when they choose a campaign to promote in the forum and social media. As a result, these projects turn out to be an exit scams, which is why investors suffer losses.

Many new tokens immediately drop after the IEO is completed. Perhaps untrustworthy teams sell their tokens and do not fulfill their promises mentioned in the road map. In my opinion, DT members should punish users who start ANN or BOUNTY threads because managers are also responsible for fraudulent projects that they run on the forum.

You really have a great idea here, I think DT members already have been giving red trust to those who manage or promote scam projects. It's always our duty whether as bounty managers or hunters to do proper due diligence before promoting any project. I was so disappointed in a BM when 3 projects managed by him failed on the go, I just pity poor investors of those projects. The best way to combat scam projects is by using common sense when choosing projects to invest and also invest what we can afford to lose which has been a common slogan.

yes, it's a good idea dt members should keep all bounty members under observation and report those who promote scam projects, for their part the bounty managers should take a lot of information on an ico before accepting an assignment, but this usually does not it happens, but perhaps with the fear of a red trust they would be more careful...

The safest way is to not participate in any ICO programs and wait for them to be listed on stable transactions for several months and then determine if you invest in the project or not.
ICO, IEO or STO are startup projects and now there are some projects that have their own products. But the value of a project is determined by many different factors. The most important investment is profit. When listed on the transaction will know the needs of the user. That is a factor promoting value for the project.

Very much of the past projects that ended up dying and a scam and it is already reasonable because it is very difficult to survive from many of his projects that arise afterward. We can not punish them legally because there is no legality in their project and there is no way to stop such. We just have to be always good at sorting out new emerging projects and not getting stuck to the wrong project.

That's why it's very hard to launch new projects this year as we've been tired, exhausted and stressed out with those fake promises and manipulation of those project that turned out to be scam, even if you are too vigilant still you are encountering project that you think is legit based on your observation, understanding and investigation but after a while it turned out to be scam. So new projects has been questionable to every people now.

Once upon a time there was no scam ICO in crypto space until the big bullrun came in 2017, many quickly start eyeing ICO as a gateway to quick money so scammers begins their reigns but how long will this go? now ICO is way down because of scam projects i think very soon scammers won't stand a chance anymore because new better solution will come

Hi, recently so many past-ICOs turned into a scam or a deadcoin.
Is there anything what we can do to punish them? More than 2 years ICOs are scamming us and still people are investing, is this really a world what we want to create?
The rejection of their coin and product is already a punishment for the project, you can still disseminate information in your social networks about that particular ICO, that they are a scam ICO.

e.g switching to trading or deposit funds to expert traders.

I always see this " expert traders." in my phone ads, are you talking about the same thing?

I mean, people are really convincing that it can give fast return in just a short period of time, but honestly though, I don't believe that much as I live and survive in crypto with my own style and developing my trading skills.
We know that many of those that are promoting their services saying that they can obtain fast profits are doing it to deceive the newbies and to get more money for themselves, big profits come with time, patience, the ability to manage your money and trading skills, and all of this does not come fast and you need a lot of time to develop all of those skills but once you have them making money on the long term in the markets becomes a relatively easy task for people like you.

There is a lot of ICOs that turn scam and they are too many to mention. That's why some intelligent investor are avoiding this scheme and not taking the bait since they are just a bunch of scammers and making fake promises.

Whenever i see an ICO, my mind keeps telling "It's a scam wasu wasu wasu". Just avoid this scheme and learn more on trading and make a profit.

Just have a little patience because its only a matter of time, soon there will be better regulations hoping by 2020 and there will surely be a more secured fund raising launchpad for new projects too

The IEO investments are scam-free and the dangers of ICOs are not possible in the well-known exchanges. For avoiding the scam projects, making a decent investment decisions based on the proper project analyze and right money management for testing the reliability of project before investing can save the investor's time, money.

for now, there is no regulation that makes us avoid it. it all depends on the location where the ICO / IEO is held. actually it's quite simple, just by verifying the data from the team (regarding the profile, and all those concerned), as well as the official office, it can be a promising thing for a project. but, for selling via the internet, it seems like new regulations are really needed to avoid scams or dead projects.

After 2017, it has become much easier to analyze ICOs - by default, everyone who asks for money is considered a scam. The most important thing is to moderate your appetite, there may no longer be such frenzied Xs as before.

Everyone certainly does not want to be fooled so we but if it happens to us then there is nothing we can do except by submitting what has happened, then what punishment is appropriate for them of course we can only report projects on this forum and maybe later there a friend who helps give a warning if the people on the team make the project back then we can avoid it.

It is really interesting that as time passes the way people think about something changes radically, I remember that years ago when I saw icos I thought about the developers behind them that were doing everything they could to make their project a success and how difficult and stressful that should be, but now as soon as someone mentions an ico my first reaction is to think about the scammers behind the project doing everything to not get caught and avoid any possible repercussions in the case they fail.

The issue of scam ICO's is getting more prevalent in recent times. This could be vividly seen in the cryptocurrency space as several ico projects are consistently turning pump and dump tokens. This has reduced the trust people have on the cryptocurrency space and potential investors are shying away from the community.
