For various reasons having old wallets and updating it regularly helps in securing the funds and lowering the risks.
Yeah that's one way to keep up with safe version of wallet but developers can only fix vulnerabilities which are found. What if a malicious party finds the vulnerability before developer does? Still I don't think its much safe.

I am not used to new wallets, but the priority of a safe wallet to use is a wallet that has proven safe with a large number of users. User reviews are very useful for assessing which wallets are worth using. In my opinion, never save your assets because that is not a good choice for saving your money. Exchange is not a good place to store assets, after you make a purchase, withdraw all your assets to the wallet to which you have access to a privatekey. Losing your privatekey, you will lose your money. That is a safe tips from many people.

I even wonder why one will need a new wallet when you have the old and trusted ones which you have been using for a long long time without loss of your fund.

The point it is not so safe with old wallets as well. I find it better to keep in a paper wallet and trust coinb.in for the sending transactions.
I agree. The term "safe" will always rely on ourselves, no matter what trusted wallet we use, if we are being careless on how we use it or how we keep our bitcoins, then "safe" become "unsafe" where there is no point anymore of choosing what wallet we will use, rather we should think if we could trust ourselves or is it still worthy for us to hold such fragile and expensive things.

yes it is true that many complain about losing some of their coins after using a new wallet-shaped application. and we all have to be careful to try new things that only utilize how ridiculous we are to try.
Some people just download wallets from playstore, appstore etc without even checking the reputation or legitimacy of the wallet. I remember when people lost funds downloading fake myetherwallet from playstore, even when there was no official MEW on playstore. We just have to be careful, there is a new trend of wallets promising ROI for storing your coins in them, at the end they will come up with stories doing away with user funds. Example was plustoken wallet.

People like us who are using crypto currency shouldn't believe all wallets Blindly. Those smart/digital wallets makes our life easier but they can destroy too. So, we should be careful before using a wallet where we are keeping our wealth.

I don’t trust any new wallets and cannot understand why we need them when there are safe and verified wallets. I really do not like when, after participating in the bounty, the developers will demand to install their new wallet.

The reason why i don't like new wallets 1. They always have low users which means they have nothing new to offer, even if new users try them out, once they don't see any thing new they bounce back to their old wallet, repetitive at work
2. Many new wallets on playstore can't be trusted, they have different set of aims, some have access to your private keys but they will fool users thinking you are the only one in control of the private keys and some don't give out private keys to users, they work as online wallet
Thanks for your information. I didn't know as much as now. I thought new and old, all wallet have access only me or one user. You wouldn't trust even if new wallet has supporting by huge positive feedback users.

I agree with you. that do not easily believe in a new wallet even with a tempting offer. if we are still comfortable with the old wallet, we better keep it, never try a new one that is not necessarily better than before.

Yeah that’s good to stay with the old as we know old is gold then we should Use old wallet than changing it and applying a new one. I know in the market there are so many wallets but we only trust the one we already aware of and the one we can feel safe using. To store our coins we should remain so concerned and not To be careless so I guess good to use Blockchain than applying new wallets.

I also have never imported a wallet key in a new wallet application on Android let alone use it, I trust more in the official application that is truly official from their site, not also interested when having to download an APK file, I only use coinomi wallet, blockchain and MEW connect. link from their official website so I don't download it wrong, I also hope that new users in crypto don't make mistakes like this

I knew Crypto from the beginning, but I have never made a new wallet to store my assets. I just trusted it to the local exchanger in my country, which I had used for 3 years. indeed we must be very careful and always on the lookout for new wallets. Although not all of them we can not believe. So far, I only know that there is a new wallet. Even though there are attractive offers, I still ignore them

I agree with you. In fact, most new wallets are not trusted. Downloading a new wallet can mean you're carrying malicious code and it can hack all your information. So why should we use a new wallet while the old one is still good?

Just a disclaimer, I don't like all of the new wallets but it doesn't mean that all of them are carrying malicious code. But I would choose not to download any of them even though they look promising and very well made by the developers. Thinking that the developers are also trustworthy and reliable in the industry. Just to be sure of your safety, I had promised myself not to download the new ones unless the experts in the security of wallets in the community has recommended it.

Most of the time wallet created by a private company will not publish their code so that is a problem because we cant know whether it has a malicious code or not. It is just better to keep using The old wallet ones. The essence of using wallet is basically the same anyway. To save monry or use it for transaction.

It is very dangerous entrusting your fund to new wallet. You can lose your funf if care is not taking. I will advice that you check the feedback of people on any new wallet that you want to use, also don't put much funds at first.

what i worry about the new wallet is because some of them in google store might contain some malware or maybe that apps are phishing apps to get user information data, because some of the new wallets need to do KYC befor starting to use that wallet.

Yeah, that's why those wallets that have GitHub and open source codes are much preferred by most. Because they can view if the code is legitimately protecting the users and the developers don't have something personal to gain on it. But in this era where the old wallets are more reputable and trustworthy, I don't think that we will even look for newer ones. Maybe we will prefer their new versions but not with another newly created wallet.

This makes me scared of which wallet to use. I think it is best to stay with the tried and tested wallet. No need to move to another. Why? I want to know why people use these new wallets? Unless they are new users to bitcoin?
