Bitcoin in a brick and mortar casino? I doubt that will happen anytime soon. You do realize that many countries ban gambling(FIAT) outright, don't you op? The countries which allow gambling have their own regulations in place.

Accepting BTC as a payment method involved far stricter regulations which can only become a reality if the government legalizes BTC and regulates it effectively and does not impose extra protocols on offline BTC payments. This is highly unrealistic in my opinion.

I think you are putting the security of your wallet in a high level of risks with that particular action. Because if I'm not mistaken, you cannot access your wallet without the keys, so might as well you will type in your private keys. I dont think of any better security than using your own device to access your wallet, not the other machines specially in a gambling area. Just my two cents.

Btw, the topic tackles more on gambling, how about moving these in gambling discussions. You might get a lot of answers to your inquiry, theres a lot of gamblers in that particular thread.

I couldn't see the situation being high risk other than someone stealing the device through a wrench attack but it won't happen to most people when casinos have good security. If casinos do use Bitcoins instead of fiat in the future they'll only need deposit addresses it's never a good idea to expose your private key on a casino if it was asked. OP's idea on putting in your wallet or bitcoin address on the machine is similar to having your own gambling account and send bitcoins to it.

Well, that sounds convincing. If casinos will create their own database on all registered user accounts then make deposit to it, that sounds fair, and thats the most possible thing to happen. If everything happens then only the casino will be held accountable.

Is it already happening? Oh no, I have never read news about casino which accepts or plans to accepts bitcoin or any other cryptocurrency. Casinos are still considered as a way of money laundering, so adding a cryptocurrencies will be a huge disadvantage for casino owners. By the way if we can consider it as a good news and one step, Evolution Gaming has contract with some crypto casinos and offer them their service, live blackjack and etc, some of them even has own table.
On another hand there is not significant demand on bitcoin in any particular country to push casinos to accept bitcoin and it's another task what will be governments reaction. Also in overall I think media will start to write bullshit around bitcoin once casinos accept them with titles like - a cryptocurrency that increases number of gamblers and etc silly ones.

In fact, I live in a strategic area between two countries, where one is very active with casinos, I think that by talking with the owners of traditional casinos you can reach agreements with them to place a PC so that people can play online and bet on Bitcoin, (buying them in local currency instantly and having a fund within the same Bitcoin casino, it would be a direct transfer using the same project network) some casino may interest you, it's about knowing how to speak and offer the best offer, since, of course, what will dominate are Bitcoin and cryptocurrency based gambling.

Until now people who gambling with bitcoin only can able through an online casinos and i could not found any land based casinos accept bitcoin as part of their service but regarding this question i think it depend on the popularity of bitcoin itself that if people demand want bitcoin can be used for offline casino then might be in the future people can gamble use bitcoin not only for online casino but i'm pretty sure every bitcoin users dreamed to gamble use their bitcoin through an offline casinos such as in Vegas or Macau

It could happen, though it will take a long while before traditional gambling houses and casinos incorporate bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies within their services. Should they go with this, it would take a lot of change in their license and everything else to conform with the local laws and regulations concerning gambling places and cryptocurrencies. Until most of the countries established a working law/regulation with cryptocurrencies, gambling establishments won't dare touch it even with a ten-feet pole.

This is a question that has to do with the lack of regulations and the lack of interest from people who go to offline casinos, for example:

What would be the benefit of people who would go to an offline casino and use bitcoin? remembering the high volatility bitcoin:

until yesterday the bitcoin price was $9800 and today it has dropped to $9400 which is currently at $9500

so high bitcoin volatility will be another problem for offline casinos that will accept bitcoin

I have worked for a few years in a casino and I couldn't help but imagine that people should be able to gamble with bitcoin.

Is it already happening? - I don't mean on the internet

And do you think this will be future of casinos?
There are already tons of casino games that we could play using crypto you only need to know the website.
And there are also some people who use some online games to gamble and have fun for example tongits go and other kinds of apps too.
And I don't really think that people or high roller would be interested on going at a casino just to play with their crypto specially if they could just easily do it anywhere they want.

he is asking for physical casino here. i dont think theres already one but for online casinos, obviously we have tons already!
for those that will use crypto, i dont think they will ever think of going to physical casino as theres no advantage of doing so, unless, they want to socialise with their friends and try crypto among themselves.
but the possibility of having bitcoin or any other altcoin in offline casinos is more than possible. we wont say that they will not go to that route.

being volatile is not a problem for offline casino but also on online as well  . i mainly use bitcoins online and i also use bitcoin to play on an  online gambling  . there are times that bitcoin is going in a volatile rage event where it fluctuates every minute or two  . i expereince to loose just after the deposit happens  . offline casinos are not lack of regulation but being offline actually means that they are more regulated than the online one's    .

the interest for the offline casino are still there but the question is what about the interest for bitcoin  ?

I have worked for a few years in a casino and I couldn't help but imagine that people should be able to gamble with bitcoin.

Is it already happening? - I don't mean on the internet

And do you think this will be future of casinos?
Traditional casinos will never go away if that's what you are asking, there are a lot of gamblers who prefers to play live and see the action right in front of them. Others use it as their bonding time with their colleague or business partners or would be business partners. Online casino maybe booming right now as it is a workaround for people who wants to play and remain anonymous or to those who lives in areas where gambling is illegal.

And it is not only about that

With online gambling you don't have to leave your home, your couch or armchair, while you can't build a casino for every neighborhood even if it was legal. It is pretty much like cinemas and watching movies online. How many people are now going to theaters? To put it differently, online casinos are for the lazy types and in this respect it is not so much a workaround as a natural development taking advantage of the Internet technologies (and cryptography)

There are casinos in Europe that take bitcoin, and yes I m ;)ean physical casinos.

Check out Austria Casinos
Exactly, the idea isn't that outrageous. Just like we can purchase products from stores using BTC, physical casinos would/should also accept BTC in order to capture more of its customers. Though, one issue with this is that the volatility of the BTC market put people off from using their BTC in a less responsible manner  Wink

The analogy itself seems correct

But the conclusion that we can draw from it is definitely not in favor of real casinos starting to accept Bitcoin. How many merchants do you know that actually accept Bitcoin? I mean directly, without the use of services offered by payment processing companies like BitPay and their likes. I don't think that many, if any at all. How come? People not willing to pay with their bitcoins, obviously. So why should things be different with bricks-and-mortar casinos, especially when you have a ton of online ones?

The volatility of crypto is the risk that the owner should take if they want to try this idea out.
But as a crypto earner I don't see the benefits of going into a casino just to gamble my crypto,
Of course other than playing with my friends but if that's just the case then why do we have to go to casino if we could do it on our own.

Bitcoin is still slow and if you want to deposit then you can do that at the cashier normally either with a card or cash and get chips instead, now if the casino takes card that means they do allow you to gamble with bitcoin. You may ask how is that possible but if you just get a bitcoin debit card, go to any casino nearby, pay with that bitcoin debit card and get chips then you basically deposited bitcoin instead of regular money, casino receives fiat but you paid with bitcoin.

At the end of the day, you can gamble there with their chips and if you end up winning then they will pay you in either cash or money back on the same card and that means you can put that cash back on bitcoin eventually. Yes its an indirect way of it but that is the only one we have right now.

I have worked for a few years in a casino and I couldn't help but imagine that people should be able to gamble with bitcoin.

Is it already happening? - I don't mean on the internet

And do you think this will be future of casinos?

Do you know that one day bitcoin will become a main stream currency and we will be using it in physical places like hotels, restaurants and shops. At that time bitcoin will be used in physical casino also.
By the way in which casino you worked few years and what sort of job you did in that casino ?

Why not? Bitcoin is now a means of payment on an equal footing with the dollar or euro. At the moment, less than 1% of the total amount of transactions is carried out by cryptocurrencies, but this percentage is gradually growing, and here a lot depends on us, too. I think this indicator can increase up to 50% in 5-10 years, because it is very convenient and fast.

Well yeah i think it is happening from what i've searched there are some casinos (not online) that accepts cryptocurrency as a payment method anyway, online casinos are booming and many players attracted to play than to go in actual casino so, maybe in future online casinos will be more than the actual casinos but i think that going to an actual casino is more fun than playing casino online since you have to get fresh air and socialize.
