I have worked for a few years in a casino and I couldn't help but imagine that people should be able to gamble with bitcoin.

Is it already happening? - I don't mean on the internet

And do you think this will be future of casinos?

Do you know that one day bitcoin will become a main stream currency and we will be using it in physical places like hotels, restaurants and shops. At that time bitcoin will be used in physical casino also.

Don't be much hypothetical here, we've known bitcoin for so long, we've known its capability but let us not forget that it contain high volatility rate which is more likely the reason why people would easily give up on crypto. There are already establishments that acknowledge cryptocurrency, most of them are well known companies across the globe. I don't think physical casinos would do the same as they are regulated by the government, being that said casinos also have workers to be paid not by means of bitcoin but fiat. We need more time, much time to transition into cashless society.

The future of mixing online casinos in the traditional ones is likely, the adoption of bitcoin is taking place more fluently, there is relevant news to it. It is important to note that many know Bitcoin thanks to the Online Games.

For a traditional casino owner, I think it is not a waste to speed up some machines with an Internet connection and have access to games with Bitcoin bets, beforehand there must be an open wallet for people who wish to play to pay with the local currency in exchange of the moment and a quick transfer is made to the machine, or you can even sell reader cards with QR code with prepaid balance, (It is a speculative idea of how it can be done), it is worth noting that in some months some cryptocurrencies and some StableCoins will be launched that people can choose and don't think so much about volatility.

Yes its already possible but you would still end up on using dollars or fiat but at least they are showing some adoption.

https://www.gamblingsites.com/blog/vegas-casinos-accept-bitcoin-64554/

We might not able to spend directly but its good to look at about their recognition.

Yes, see previous comments. This is already in practice, physical casinos accepting bitcoin much like how you can use BTC on other markets to purchase things. BTC spending power has definitely increased since it was first introduced and its nice to see that more and more establishments are becoming crypto acceptors Wink

There's nothing wrong someone playing gambling risking bitcoin,

Instead of risking your house, then where do you live again if you lose playing casino

The more sophisticated and developing world with the internet so far, the more sophisticated people are betting.

Different from the old days playing at a round table with betting money on the table.
Maybe, in 2025 a more sophisticated casino betting system, now bitcoin, 2025 maybe land, houses, vehicles can be accessed to casino sites.

So, no need to be surprised if you see Bitcoin at stake with the casino.

When you work with Bitcoin, you do not use a bank card number that can be stolen by attackers to withdraw money on your behalf. In fact, you can send a payment without revealing your identity as if you were just giving someone cash. I think that’s why it is necessary to use Bitcoin, and not dollars, euros or other currencies. I'm for anonymity. Every day I go to news resources and see more and more new messages about the possibility of paying for various services using BTC Smiley

I've never thought about that but I think everyone above on me was right. It would be the same as exchanging it first for fiat and then the casino will give you the chips/token. Although it is most common in the internet to see such online casino using cryptocurrency whenever they need it but this is really surprising tbh.

Take it slow. Though there is a big possibility in the future that casinos will use bitcoin, there is a thing called "adoption" first in every gambler, too. Not all gamblers and casino owners know about bitcoin. And certainly, most of the gamblers want instant physical money when they won. Isn't a bit complicated to play a game and sent out bitcoin for betting before the game, thinking the fee is expensive and the transaction is slow? Except of course if that casino itself will create their own gambling site, too.

And do you think this will be future of casinos?
It's already happening now.
You can see that we have so many crypto gambling using bitcoin and altcoin as a bet.
Not to mention the site but you can search by yourself.
I think people are searching the instant way to gamble and they did found crypto gambling site which will help them to gamble.
So if you want to try, I suggest you find recommended crypto gambling site on here, deposit some satoshi to start.
Or if you don't want to deposit, you can get the free coin as a welcome bonus, so later you can decide to deposit or not.
Maybe that will be the future of the casinos because, with the technology, people can connect to anything they want via the internet.
So it makes people easier to play gambling even in their home.

Take it slow. Though there is a big possibility in the future that casinos will use bitcoin,
we are already in the future .  cant you see that the  techinologies we have now are more advanced and you can include cryptos and blockchain with that .

there is a thing called "adoption" first in every gambler, too. Not all gamblers and casino owners know about bitcoin.
why not ? btc are verry old  . its old enough for every average joe to hear and recognize it   .

And certainly, most of the gamblers want instant physical money when they won.
not really  . what about on physical casino , they also use chips as bets right ?  same as on cryptos . crypto bets are like chips and you can still convert them later on to  a real cash  .

Isn't a bit complicated to play a game and sent out bitcoin for betting before the game, thinking the fee is expensive and the transaction is slow?
not its that complicated  . btc is user friendly   .  there are many alternatives to btc and you can use those to solve the problems that you stated above .

Adoption and age are not the same

With that said, however, I don't think either that gamblers let alone casinos are not aware about Bitcoin. But the problem lies deeper. As I see it, Bitcoin as well as other cryptocurrencies (and by others I refer to Dogecoin first and foremost) is perfect for online gambling (Doge is even better), so it is kind of enough is as good as a feast. In other words, people who have crypto and a desire to gamble can easily satisfy that desire in an online casino. In the case they want something real, they can convert their bitcoins to cash (provided they don't have any) and go to Las Vegas, Monaco, and similar places

not really  . what about on physical casino , they also use chips as bets right ?  same as on cryptos . crypto bets are like chips and you can still convert them later on to  a real cash

Not that it is impossible per se, it is just too clumsy and cumbersome (when you already have a cash option)

What I know is that for a long time some casino places accept bitcoin as a means of payment. Like the one in Las Vegas, it has been years before the famous bitcoin, like now the casino there has accepted bitcoin. And I am sure this is also what makes the casino still survive even more popular and more and more online casinos are popping up and accepting bitcoin as a means of payment. And because of the many casinos that accept bitcoin, many people become cryptogamblers. Because they see the opportunities they get if they win and the price of bitcoin is very fast rising dramatically.

Well yeah i think it is happening from what i've searched there are some casinos (not online) that accepts cryptocurrency as a payment method anyway, online casinos are booming and many players attracted to play than to go in actual casino so, maybe in future online casinos will be more than the actual casinos but i think that going to an actual casino is more fun than playing casino online since you have to get fresh air and socialize.

Really, is there such a thing as offline casinos accepting crypto? Can you show me because I have never once heard of this. It is really very strange to me for such a concept to happen but I suppose if they are willing to let people walk in to "launder" money that is one very good option in my mind.

And anyway those who say actual casino is more fun probably do not really gamble much. I agree it is OK but comfort of home is also very attractive.

He gave an example in first page to us;

The D and the Golden Gate in Downtown Las Vegas have been accepting Bitcoin for a while now:
https://www.goldengatecasino.com/blog/best-ways-utilize-bitcoin-vegas/

Ironically they appear to accept it for pretty much anything but gambling.

I think that there may be another casinos in all around the world.

Isn't a bit complicated to play a game and sent out bitcoin for betting before the game, thinking the fee is expensive and the transaction is slow?
not its that complicated  . btc is user friendly   .  there are many alternatives to btc and you can use those to solve the problems that you stated above .

I do not agree with this statement. Let's look at it from the perspective of the gambler who just found out about the possibility of using bitcoin. First, he needs to figure out what Bitcoin is, where to store it, how to store it safely. The player needs to know what are the ways to acquire Bitcoin, if he never used the exchange, this will be a big surprise for him.

Let's say he finally went through a bunch of new information, figured out everything and made his deposit.  But how much does he want to bet? How many decimals Bitcoin has? What is mBTC? What is uBTC? And so on... This can be very confusing.

I have worked for a few years in a casino and I couldn't help but imagine that people should be able to gamble with bitcoin

Truth be told, I've never been to a real casino

I mean a real one, not some room with slot machines and similar stuff. But from what I know (okay, from what I've seen in the movies) people don't use cash there directly. Casinos use gaming chips, i.e. small discs used instead of paper money and coins. Then you can redeem the chips (provided you have any left, of course) for real cash. To me, Bitcoin would be cumbersome to exchange these chips for in these circumstances

There are already tons of casino games that we could play using crypto you only need to know the website.
And there are also some people who use some online games to gamble and have fun for example tongits go and other kinds of apps too

OP asks about real casinos (think Las Vegas here)

For this, it is necessary that the casino accept cryptocurrency as a payment for chips.
I believe that there is no problem. Now, nothing prevents you from exchanging chips for dollars, and then buying cryptocurrency.

But isn't this exactly the problem?

Just like with merchants not accepting crypto, regular "offline" casinos may not be willing either because they would have to deal with volatility issues. In fact, all such issues can be dealt with in an effective and efficient way (in a technical sense), but that requires extra costs which can easily make the whole thing not worth it (given that they keep their books in whatever the official currency is). And still more so when people willing to stake their coins can easily do that in online casinos (which is totally hassle-free)

Now, nothing prevents you from exchanging chips for dollars, and then buying cryptocurrency

I agree, but this is not what the topic is about

Reminds me of a  UK based start-up named Cryptochip that aims to convert cryptocurrency to gambling chips and vice versa, but it seems the project failed probably of a certain reason stated above.  The "hassle"  of using cryptocurrency when one can just use online casino or a fiat when inside a physical gambling casino.

Anyway, I haven't heard any Physical casino here in Philippines that accept Bitcoin, though if there is, I think I'll still use fiat because it is more convenient that way.

Is it already happening? - I don't mean on the internet

And do you think this will be future of casinos?

welcome to 2012 , you are kinda almost 10 years late think Satoshidice was if not the pioneers
but one of the first bitcoin gambling sites that were using blockchain and tx fee hash to produce results and pay the winners in bitcoin :
https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Satoshi_Dice
since then the industry made huge leaps ahead and the sites like Primedice appeared ( considered to be the fathers of the existing bitcoin dice games )
Just-dice, bustabit and so on and so forth , nowadays literally hundreds of casinos support bitcoin and altcoins as the main or alternative payment methods
some of the popular sites you might want to check out are : Bitsler , Bitvest , Stake, Primedice, Bustabit, cryptogames  and many others
