The scenario you are describing is unrealistic. It is impossible to trade this way every day.

yes I agree with you, it is not possible every day to make a profit. and I don't think it's time consuming, it's hard to leave the monitor like this. the short term is good, but if it's only a matter of hours, this is too fast. There are big differences between short and long term investments; if you want to invest then go for long term. If you are about to TRADE then go for short term. There is no sense of investing for short term as that is not an investments but you are just trading with ALL THE RISKS included. Investments is one the types of trading which eliminates most of the risk factors.

For example, by first quarter of 2015 BTC prices dipped below $200 and I remember the lowest was around $180 and by December of 2017 BTC traded up to $19,400. It would be around 100x growth for the people who decided for long term. I am sure most of the long term investors had not booked in late 2017 but I am sure they are going to harvest 1000x very much easily in coming months to years.

Long term investments are a test for your patience and holding your nerves will decide your level of profits whereas short term investments may wipe out your total capital even in the matter of minutes on unexpected events of negative news and events.

Moreover, long term investments are suggested only for highly reputed coins and for random things like for tokens, it is always good to trade them in short term. But, no one knows what future has to unfold for us. Hence, just choosing bitcoin kind of highly reputed assets with long term plans may help anyone to crack easy profits.

Altcoin itself I do not dare to speculate long enough because some good projects I have observed actually decreased prices. there are many things that are very sensitive in cryptocurrency therefore it must be truly selective if interested in investing in this investment instrument

for the long-term investment, you need to be rich first lol. if you're poor like me you need to take your steps for short-term (sad but true)

we are not in a position like holding 100 btc for 10 years. you need to gain your cryptocurrencies and need to consume these asap to live your life, at least, in these market situations we need to act like that. because most cryptocurrencies prices are the same and do not increase much more. so it makes no sense to hold them for investment. but you can hold your tokens if bull-run starts btw.

I don't see a reason why you need to be rich in order to be a long term investor?
You could be a long term investor all you need to do is invest what you could afford even if it's just a small amount try to buy everytime you have some extra cash and hold it.
And for me it is better to be a long term investor rather than a risky short term.
The market moves so quickly and if you are a short term investor you would always be in fear on your investment specially if you invested in an alt-coin that doesn't have a strong community.

depending on your desires, if you intend to do daily trading it also has the risk you can not always make 25-50 $ / day because trading is unpredictable work.
for the long term it is aimed at people who don't like to think about market conditions they have a target when buying the coin, when they have to sell it.
and usually they buy Bitcoin not altcoin.

The OP has a big initial capital, so little increase in value of token it has already a big impact on his investment,  which most of us are unable to afford. I prefer the type of investment in the medium to long term.

Very well said, I was a bit confuse too on what OP said about short term investment in a day but all he was doing is day trading but I've heard that this kind of trading has a lot of risk since you are going in and out for just a few hours or day, also you need a big capital on this if you want to earn more in just a day,

I prefer midterm to long term investment, but actually timing to sell depends on the movement of the market.  Just like for example, if aperson bought a token at around $0.00001  then after several week, it became $0.1, I wouldn't wait any longer to sell my token.  Probably I am more of a swing trader than a long term investor.

yes BTC has proven its reliability, investing in this coin is possibly the safest, but I also consider Ethereum, the project has great potential, both short-term and long-term investment

Short term is way to go no matter how the market will be since its always not stable. Taking profit every now and then make sense and that's what the wise guys are doing actually. You aren't going to gain when you hold BTC for so long unless you were an early investor who forgot about the coins they got for awhile. You gotta signup to exchanges that offer better leverage than just 30x.

that some coins can raise in the future but i don't think we have to hold

I think so, we do not know how to end long term trade, and if we lost, there is not much to do. But, short-term trading is a good choice to cut your losses quickly and evaluate every opportunity. But it is obvious that short term trade does not always provide profit. Even sometimes waiting for days is not enough and in the end, you lose. The best thing is to do what you do best.

That is a short term trading, and that is scalping trade. If you have the skills to detect the price, it will be no problem. But we don't know where the price wants to move in the next one or two hours later. It depends on the coin movement on that day if the coin has a good movement, then yes, scalping trade will be a good option to make a profit without hold too long. As long as we can predict the coin moves, we can repeat to buy and sell and make a profit.

Of course this depends on our goals, if our goal is long-term then buying the top 10 at coin marketcap is profitable, but for me buying new listed altcoins is certainly more profitable than having to wait a long time.

Selective on altcoin must be done. The reason is that we never know where the markets are going, sometimes it's just hype, or an instant scam. Yes it is true we are careful about that. Therefore, I think it's safer and more certain to keep bitcoin than altcoin below the top 10 CMC. I can say that because I know bitcoin when it costs around $ 100 more. So it is very profitable for those who bought then and sell now.

There is no wrong with long term investment as other investors still prefer it because they only want to see their investment grows without exerting much effort. But if we can make small profits even in short term investing, then why not? I have my long term investment and i also make short term too because i really need continuous profits in order to sustain my family needs and so when i see chances to make profits, i always grab for it.

You need short term investments just before sometimes big coming up for a project or if you're a good short trader and know where to pull off. There are certain coins that may not really look like anything meaningful for now, but with time they tend to appreciate in value. I do not  condemn short term investment. If it works for you, then good. I just feel you might want to give a long term investment some trials.
