I don't think the long term to have lower risks since it probably to get no results once the holding coins be dead coins. Anywhose, I've always lost money when I've tried to trade altcoins (or bitcoin) in the short term.  Well, not quite always but more often than not, and my experience was the same with trading stocks.  So a few years ago I became a bona fide buy and hold investor of whatever it is I'm investing in.

If you're on a crypto exchange buying coins and then setting your selling order immediately after the purchase, you're basically gambling.  I don't like to gamble because I find it stressful and very unpredictable.  My view of the crypto market right now is such that I think many altcoins, and bitcoin, are undervalued.  The only smart play I can see is to buy, buy, buy.  After that I'll be watching my capital gains go skyward.

Exactly, both short term or long term involve risk and has their advantages and disadvantages too. For instance, short term investment will be beneficial if the price of the coin moves up within a short period of time, and dumps badly in the long run. The reverse will be the case when you sell cheap in a hurry when you are in Lil profit or when you sell at dip, and in the long run the price soars up. It all depends on one's risk threshold and choice of investment.

Even though you are a employee in the company but choosing a long-term investment in crypto for now is the wrong choice (in my opinion), it's better to invest in something else not in crypto if for the long term. In the past, I also preferred long-term investments, but because I suffered a lot of losses, I finally decided to cut losses and make short-term investments, but in large amounts, this method can be said as trading. i just buying a coin for ex at 20 and sold at 21 or buy at 60 sold 61 in the same
day i don't like long term investing because it take too long and finally that
coin can fall even peoples who bought ETH at 0.03 or more they are in big lost
now and even BNB some peoples bought at 0.003 or even 0.004 i know
that some coins can raise in the future but i don't think we have to hold
coins for yeras when u can make in this periode thousands of dollars
in short term investments i remember when i make 1700$ in hours
with NLC2 its a shit coin true with price of 20 sat now but i don't care
because i didn't hold it i just checked its chart and i found it falling
to 800 sat and raising to 900 in seconds so i bought it many times
at 800 and i sold it 900 and i make 1700$ i less then two hours  
what i want to say is why u holding coins for a year when u can
make at least 25 - 50$ in a day with only 0.15 - 0.20 BTC this
means 50*365=18250$

I think one should do both the long term and short term. And that way, you can maximize your profit  and reduce your losses.  Such that even if you lose in one, the other one may turn out well to buffer either of it that failed
