I've read people asking and posting how to protect their wallet but apart from educating yourself on how to protect your wallet, private keys and passwords, It's also very important that you protect yourself from exposing your portfolio you don't go around telling friends and random people, coins that you are keeping.
And also It's important to have other businesses or jobs and not rely on all your needs to Cryptocurrency, people will notice this and they will think you are making a fortune from Cryptocurrency and they might target you.

So are you protecting yourself and how do you protect yourself and your family?
I have never really told the people I know about the source of my income, especially on social medias.
Aside from how we kept our wallet and the likes, cryptocurrencies aint my main job. It's like a side job, I do have a day to day job for a living.
You know, we couldnt really count on how markets doing. Even my family, what they know is that I make a litle extra money from internet, that's all.
I tried to keep it as little info as I could.

Protecting data or coins on the internet may be arguably difficult as well as simple. You could say it's simple because as long as we always check the security tab in our browser and don't visit suspicious websites, I think our data will be safe. You could say it's difficult if we are not able to control our curiosity in clicking or visiting a website

yes you are right OP we don't need to post our portfolio or assets on social media. because if we post our assets on social media will trigger people who have envy towards us to commit crimes on us. and to protect our wallets from hackers we should have several digital wallets or store them in a hardware wallet I think it will be safer.
if you put just the names of the coins in your portfolio then no one can do anything to you. what's the difference what coins do you have in your portfolio? just don’t post on the net the amount of these coins

It will not hurt to invest on anti-malware software to protect your PC well. Also, be wise in choosing anti-malware software because there have been reports about fraudulent softwares that supposedly protect you but instead, are the ones that will try to hack your computer. Secure your passwords well and avoid making same passwords. Offline wallets are also good if your prefer a long term of keeping the coin.

It's okay to tell your friends if your friends are still into cryptocurrency. I mean, you can trust your friends because both of you are into the same thing. In that way you can help each other but not to the point you have to give each others personal account. You still have to secure your accounts and password and all important and confidential details to protect your funds.

I do not think that in cryptocurrency you can trust anyone. if your friends will steal your crypto you can never prove it. they will simply create a new wallet and withdraw your money to it

You have a very good point. In the first place security is on your hand. If you will make all your transactions and privated information personal you don't have any problem. If possible you must keep all your password or private keys on your self and away from others even to your bestfriend or even in your family members to avoid opportunity to other people or scammer to know and to have a chance to steal your coin or account.

First and foremost there are people who are already make the cryptocurrency as their job so you don't need to mention on having a job or other business for them to earn because they are making already crypto to rely on. We must really protect our wallets and assets especially our private keys and our passwords because there are a lot of people who are trying to steak and get your wallets, so you must not expose your folio even to your friends and other people who you really dont know.

What if something unexpected happened like illness and so on?  It's important that someone can be trusted to provide information about assets such as passwords, wallet info and more.

The reference point here is security, which is very essential. The reason it is quite difficult to guarantee 100% security, is because it is online and we are online. So users need to be conscious of the fact that anything can happen and should always be at alert.
very precise that you submit because until now there is no institution or legal force that can protect our crypto currency assets because we ourselves can maintain the security of our assets avoid surfing with sites that we don't know about and store all privacy codes and we can find out basically the security of assets that we have is our responsibility

It is very bad if really friends seem so bad.  But life always provides surprises, both good and bad.  To avoid the temptation for loved ones and disappointment in people for yourself, it is better to keep your assets away from your friends.

Most of cryptocurrency transactions are anonymous for a reason. It is to keep the trader's identity safe from seeking hackers and pishing hunters. If you are not participating in a crypto advertisement and you could keep your identity and main accounts secrer, there is no need for you to flex your profile. There are already a lot of bad people in this industry and since we have no one real regulation for them, taking care of your own self is vital to survive.

Logically right, especially if your friend/friends knew about crypto, how can you prove something to the person who knows how to hide and how things works? There's no chance to you to recover your assets / coins if they already transfer everything from another wallet without your knowledge. Trusting your crypto most of the time is a hard decision to make most if when you already have a huge value of assets.

The moment you give out your KYC to any company ever you are literally giving up your own security. People do not realize this but when you register to a Chinese exchange that has your KYC they are actually very free with it, they both share it with their government ( a must and a law) and they actually sell it to highest bidder as well.

Someone, I know actually got all of my information as a joke, I wasn't afraid him getting it because he knows me anyway but the fact stands that they didn't know this about us and shared all my info with him, my ID, my pictures, my balance, my trades, my withdrawals, name it and he got it. That is why protecting yourself is a lot more important than protecting your assets, I would rather lose all my balance there to a hack then get all my real info.

Now all we have to protect is ourselves not for the hacker and the scammers. We protect ourselves in real life, And what you counsel is right. I have watched a lot of news on television, in newspaper and on social media and almost everything I see on television is criminal whose motive is theft.

First, I don’t see any reason why people will even be going about sharing their password to the public out there, it is meant to be a private key and password as the name implies and I think that people are wiser than that, but the key thing that we need to learn to protect ourselves away from are hackers who would use every dark method to get into our account to steal our coins, and I think these are the people that is the most dangerous person to us.

I have been protecting my own wallet by making use of hard wallet, with hard wallet, it will be impossible for hacker to really hack into it since I am not always online and my keys are kept in a private room where no one would even be able to get into.

I personally always protect myself and do not trust anyone who is here, the crypto market is very anonymous and no one will guarantee your safety here. because what must be done here is about how to survive from all the risks that exist. and we ourselves will determine our destiny here.
It is our duty to keep ourselves safe from all sort of frauds but still people fail to. Easy to say, difficult to do. You can only stay safe if you have some good knowledge. We all know that there are scams in digital market, still people invest in new coins and do not go for bitcoin or altcoin and end up losing all money. The reason behind is their little understanding and greed to get more with less.

yes I agree with you op I just make cryptocurrency as my additional work. because the crypto market is very flutuative unreliable so I have a real job as a teacher. and I have never told anyone about the coins that I hold or the benefits I get from working with crypto will cause social jealousy. and I also keep some of my coins in a different wallet so it doesn't get hacked easily. and I also installed f2a in my wallet so that it would be safer.

There are many arrogant people that I keep saying, they keep saying that they know everything and they have a lot.of coins. But I think they are only lying and they do not know how they will protect their assets. Protecting it is not easy and that's why we need to habe right knowledge that ww can get from studying, researching and listening to other people who are smarter than us.
