Yeah, you're absolutely right, we should protect ourself and our assets. I am trying not to share any information about my investments even with my friends. And I also keep the coins/tokens which i hold for investment in more than one wallet, even though my portfolio is not big.

protecting my crypto assets (even any real assets), is my own responsibility. actually it's simple, by keeping a good eye on my personal wallet key (I always use a special computer to access this) and not sharing personal data with others, I think that's enough. and to protect ourselves from any crime, never expose anything related to our crypto assets to the public, especially through social media, this is tantamount to bringing us closer to those who mean evil to us.

I've read people asking and posting how to protect their wallet but apart from educating yourself on how to protect your wallet, private keys and passwords, It's also very important that you protect yourself from exposing your portfolio you don't go around telling friends and random people, coins that you are keeping.
And also It's important to have other businesses or jobs and not rely on all your needs to Cryptocurrency, people will notice this and they will think you are making a fortune from Cryptocurrency and they might target you.

So are you protecting yourself and how do you protect yourself and your family?
I have so many tokens in my wallet and i earned them free, from airdrops and bounties but they are worthless, in combined they are not up to 200$ but still i don't keep them in a single wallet address, i split them up for safety but this kind of money won't bring any danger, even if i managed to become a target it won't worth it
As an account owner you must be careful because you are the ones who is responsible when it comes to the safety of your account. As an old member here I have encountered a lot of times when my account was hacked. I am so devastated on that time because my account was hacked and all of my money was gone. And from that time since that incident was happened I always ensure the safety of my account.

share asset information with your friends in my opinion is not a problem, as long as you do not expose it as a whole I mean not in detail how much total and value of assets that you have. so your assets will still be protected (I think so).
and that's good, I also keep my assets in more than 1 wallet, this is the best way.

jealousy has a greater impact than the possibility of crime, I began to realize this since two years ago because I finally changed some of my asset management views for the worse because communication with them only applies to short-term goals without preparing for more serious deterrence. I want to forget it and start thinking about more positive things in protective measures through personal attitude first.

Which stupid investor would say that? I mean, tell people about your main assets to random people. I don't think anyone would do that, unless you tell one of your family, it's OK, at least like writing your will, to your family. but not with people you don't know.

I would rather not even tell to my family how much cryptocurrency I have, because anything can happen in life and you never know how even your family members can behave. there have already been many cases when family members stole from their loved ones and this can also happen to you. that is why it is best that only you know about your money

Ome of the most beautiful things I admire about cryptocurrency is the fact that you can be running it and nobody will know you are doing anything, yet, you will be earning alot. So, I see no reason why anyone should now take it upon themselves to start announcing things that are supposed to be private. Everyone should take caution as one can even fall into the hands of hackers.  It is better to be safe than sorry.

Thanks so much for this post, it's worth thinking about

In some cases that happened, but the closest relative you have is your family and what will happened to your assets when no one knows about it after you die, or in any case you accidentally died. You still need someone to leave your assets, else, it would just die with you. Better that someone will use it after you passed away so it will be beneficial to them.

Exposing yourself and your assets just you are creating more devil eyes to focus on you.Just act normally and focus on where you want to be.Never tell the wallet keys to your friends or discus at public place.

Keep learning and growing,Help them to learn from you but avoid to share the details of your assets.I also agree that there should be a side work or business that no one can judge you are involving in illegal activities.Learn to how safe yourself and your crypto assets is also skill of a professional trader or investor.

The best thing what you can do is to store your cryptocurrencies completely offline and let know where you put your private keys to your close family. Secondly you have to think about natural disasters, so cryptosteel or bunkeroid is the solution. Then do not forget where you hide it.  Cheesy

In order to protect ourself, we must be security conscious. We must learn to keep our private key safe and not store it where scammers can have access to it. We should not disclose our portfolio to anyone except for close family members.

store crypto currency in an offline wallet if you lose your device then end it !, in my opinion it's better to be online, or maybe half is in an online wallet, many trusted online wallets, Myetherwallet is one of them

You won't become a target if someone knows you have crypto. Don't be too paranoid about it unless you have a lot of money invested. People also see you drive expensive car or live in a big house.

Many things you do show you as a wealthy person but that isn't stopping people from inviting friends over and throwing a parties where everyone can see what they have in the house. Maybe somebody finds your drone attractive, maybe it's your camera or your new laptop. You can't live like a recluse afraid that somebody will see your wealth.

If your parents are still in bitcoin, it's all right to tell your mates. I think, because you're both in the same thing, you can trust your mates. You can support each other in this way, but not to the degree that you have to give personal account to each other. To protect your money, you still need to encrypt your accounts and password and all relevant and sensitive information.
Sharing something with our partners in doing something in cryptocurrency is a good and appropriate thing to do so that they can immediately give advice based on their observations. But for accounts or other personal information relating to assets that we have in cryptocurrency, we should save it ourselves and not spit it out or show it to our partners about the assets we have and also our other personal information in cryptocurrency to him because sometimes people can who we believe take the opportunity when they see that what we have is something very good.

I think the only people that know about coins I keep are people I never met in real life before. These are my friends I met during my early beginning in crypto. My close family and friends do not have any idea of crypto

That's certainly true. We are the ones in charge of our properties. We should be able to keep it safe and secure, and by exposing everything online and even with our friends, we should not put it at risk. Sharing an idea about the coins that we only carry with our trusted friends is great, but at the same time we should keep our private keys and wallets secure. All the time, we have to be vigilant and cautious to keep things private.

protecting ourselves and protecting the key assets where we store them is very important, and we must be able to really store and protect those keys properly, indeed besides we work on crypto trading or invest in them, we should have other businesses in the real world so that we are not in the spotlight of many people about our income in crypto, but there are other businesses that can also be able to generate profits for us.

How are we going to protect ourselves? It is simply by playing smart, knowledge is what we need in order to protect our funds and manage to grow it. We cannot increase it if we are dumb person, we should have financial intelligence in order for us to identify the scam projects in the market. Identifying the risks and potential rewards are also matter because it is a skill in order to know if the project is worth it or not.

By learning knowledge in crypto and invest only on what we can afford to lose only through this way we can protect ourselves in investing in crypto. Also securing our assets is a must and before investing assessing the project must be done to protect our funds. Since many scam project identifying them indeed is very important.
