Analysts have been predicting an auction season for a while now.  Although I remain optimistic as I have a rather substantial altcoin holding,  I do think the auction season may take longer to manifest than is projected as a result of this unpredictable price action with BTC.

Don't you get tired guys to call altcoin season every day ? Just because altcoins went up 5% doesn't mean we're going to see altcoin season too or anytime soon. Also if you go on twitter and you search about altcoins you will see some members who are posting misleading info every day in order to make users to buy shitty coins.

The bitcoin dominance is still high and I think it will climb more in the next weeks as we're witness the end of the bear market ( or this is what I hope ) so altcoins may take another drop in price as for now they're rising in $ and they loose position into BTC. We should have learned that predicting something into crypto world its almost impossible so patience its kinda the only weapon we have in order to secure profits.

In the end , I still remember that we have threads predicting an altcoin season since January 2019 and here we are 2 months until the end of 2019 without any significant rising for altcoins.

Dumping altcoins is the season they are referring for? We are still down and its hard to say that the pumping season has finally arrived because of so many instances. We will still go for a roller coaster ride, head and shoulder and we will see more altcoins to die because of the market situation. If the altcoins season has finally here, we should continue to buy them.

There are so many analyst and experts in the crypto and that they are wrong most of the times. It's been a year that people are predicting a price above $20K to $1M but we've seen they were just blind guesses without any reasons to back. I don't mean to say we won't have a bull run but the more we advertise for the pumps and dumps, the slower the bull run would come.

markets take accumulation phases before whales makes waves, last few months has been accumulation
just stay away from PoW coins, if they pump, miners will just switch over ad kill price again haha

For the past two years, I cannot count how many time the market had an uptrend, but nothing really happened. Only BTC rose and made x3 science the beginning of this year, but all other altcoins have not moved from their spots.

Outside of isolated coins, that's pretty much how it has played out. It's been around a 7-8 month alt bear market compared to btc. And around 2 years of an overall bear market.

I wouldn't expect a new altcoin season to happen anytime soon, but this last btc rise was a little different than recent ones. At least this time alts didn't completely crumble when btc did its hike thing, like it did all summer. Alts recovered at least somewhat, some actually outpaced btc.

So if we pretend alts already hit their bottoms, it may play out similar to 17-18 in regard to btc-alt ratios. BTC goes up, alts sink, alts slowly regain and chugs along with btc. Now that means over time they will rise too, some a little higher than btc, some a bit lower, but at least they keep pace more or less. That's what happened in 17-18, then alts did the crazy thing after btc hit its ath. I don't expect the crazy altcoin season to occur again, but so long as alts keep pace, it could still prove to be profitable.

For pure junk coins I wouldn't expect them to keep pace at all, top 100 or so coins, maybe. We'll see. It's been pretty difficult to get a read on the market.

I think the altcoin session hasn't started yet. maybe waiting for bitcoin to reach $ 10K - $ 12K. so like in the graph that was written that. altcoin decline will still occur. before a hard pump is carried out.

An indicator is just a suggestion that something might happen, it's never proof.
For me the thing that triggers alt season is when a) prices have risen and there is sufficient confidence in the market for people to move out from BTC into the alternatives, and probably more important: b) that gap between BTC and alts has extended further and reached the point where alts look so under-priced that people just have to start moving in.

Truth is, most altcoins will die a slow death. Only the strongest teams will manage to pull back their projects to their old all time highs.

2017 was all about hype, not much else. Basically buy, and hope someone buys after you, so you can dump on them.

Moving forward, I believe products with actual services/products will survive, and a lot of them will surely be a better investment in terms of ROI than BTC currently is (due to marketcap).

I believe Stakenet, and their work on Lightning (Like their Lightning DEX, Lightning Multi Currency Wallet etc) will be a massive success, since most people want speed, ease of use, and convenience.

There is no magic that bitcoin would even perform to assist altcoins in getting to bull run, it could support them a little bit to gain few value when  it is rising, but how would the high increase give way to bull run?

I remember of recent that I was trying to explain the issue of cryptocurrency to my dad and my mum when they came around, and I realized that when I was lecturing them, everything that I was using as reference was strictly bitcoin and this happens a lot in many people's houses, so even if we have new people in the market, they will still no bitcoin more than any coin, and for altcoins season to get popular again generally, I think that it will take the ico to redeem its image again.

It might not come within the year. If Bitcoin will make its strongest bullish rally weeks before the year ends, then altcoins might have their own rally in the remaining days of December. But if Bitcoin will rally only in the last few days of December, the altcoin rally might take place in the early weeks of January. But if Bitcoin will fail to even rally hard and reach $15,000, the altcoins might not even see a rally in prices. We will be waiting for months again.

It caused by the altcoin is pegged to the bitcoin and that's why it's too difficult to determine when altcoin season will come. Big domination that has already created by bitcoin in the market makes altcoin's position become vague.

I just click the site that you have provided and it contains a different chart that shows the possibility of rising but still, we are not sure of that movement. As of now some of the altcoins in the market are now down and even bitcoin. In addition, we can see some altcoin that until now are keep on increasing just like binance coin. Even we see an uptrend in the market we can't easily how long it will last. Lastly, do you think at the end of this year we might see a long uptrend in the market?

100% of us surely waiting for the  altcoin season since I still have alts baghold when bear market season hit and I cannot dump it before since the price is so cheap that's why I prefer  to hold it and wait for the next alt season comes. That's what everyone, not only traders, is hoping, not waiting, for. It is most unlikely that Bitcoin and altcoins will create their new ATH together. That is hardly happening although still possible. But that must need a very big amount of money flowing in. It is going to be billions that is needed. Possible yet difficult to happen. But if Bitcoin will reach its new ATH first and then the altcoins will follow, like alternatively, that is going to be a lot easier to happen. The money is just jumping from Bitcoin to altcoin and vice versa.
