Almost? well this news can be very misleading if you act on it, its not the first time we will hear that altcoin season is upon us and nothing happened, the truth is there is time for everything and there might come a time when bitcoin holders will start selling part of bitcoin for altcoin, i believe in altcoin but kinda too early for altcoin season

I want to believe, but I think it won’t happen too soon. But since most altcoin prices are tied to Bitcoin price probably will see gradual increase of prices if Bitcoin hits another bull run. Honestly I will be happy seeing deadcoins back to life before I concider its an alt season.

Indeed we are in an upward trend this year and Bitcoin regained back some of its prices. But I do not think we are going to see the altcoin season soon because the market is consolidating right now and the upward movement has stopped for this moment. If we want to see the altcoin season, the trend must be in an upward trend and a fresh money must be coming in. But now we do not see one of those, which means we are still far away from the altcoin season.

I also saw this earlier today, but I an still thinking if that could be possible this year. Analyst have said a lot and are still making their points known, but their predictions cannot be guaranteed. I still feel the season might be in 2020 and not this year again.

I'll refrain from clicking on that link, but I will share my opinion.

Assuming 'altcoin season' means a bull run for alts, I do think its coming but isn't here *yet*.  That ought to be obvious to anyone looking at price charts of altcoins, which have been suffering as much as any investment could be. 

Alts depend on what bitcoin is doing, and until bitcoin starts to come back I would not expect alts to do much except either remain stagnant or decline further.  Some of them might make it on their own merits, but there aren't many of them that are going to do that.  I will agree that the altcoin season has *almost* arrived, but it might be a while before it actually arrives.  I am hoping it won't be longer than a few months from now.

Things like this keep happening every time Altcoin goes up 5-10% on the market, many people say the Alt season is almost here. and see nothing has changed. LOL...

The very moment there is any uptrend in the market, you see so many self acclaimed market analysts putting up many predictions. The next moment  there is a downtrend, they hide their faces. The little green should not get us carried away, although I hope it keeps going up. BTC just made about 12% gain, ETH about 9%, XRP about 6% and BCH 13% within 24hours and it's a good sign. This doesn't mean altcoin season has almost arrived buddy.

You should not believe what has already said by speculators. I have heard so many speculations that said the altcoin is coming very soon but a year has already passed and nothing happened. This called a recovery phase when bitcoin goes back again to the its previous place before the bearish market happened. You can't call any uptrend will be related to the altcoin season.

I will never believe the speculators and just try to take real indicators as the best source to determine or at least create a little speculation about the next trend in the cryptocurrency.

That speculator is trying to create FOMO. But people are so smart these days. The green candle of whole altcoins caused by bitcoin and there's no reason to call that we are so close with altcoin season.

I do not think so this is not the altcoin season and this will only be temporary, this recovery I think will not be long if the market goes back down, altcoin will be even worse, even though bitcoin goes up high it will not be affected to altcoin.

The market is just showing signs of recovery, this doesn't entirely translate to a bull run or altseason per say. But if it can be maintained with more uptrend then we can now be hopeful of something good coming. Best bet now is to watch the market, take some profits if any and see how things goes from here.

If an altcoin season does arrive, I'm not so sure it'll occur this year. Perhaps during the next month or two we'll see some improvement, but it won't be like past alt seasons. Reason is, btc dominance is simply too high and btc has been way too volatile.

I also don't look at altcoin season simply as alts rising in fiat. I mean if btc goes up 10% and alts go up 5%, that's certainly not an altcoin season ... it just means you should be holding btc instead of alts. What we'd need to see is alts increase against btc.

That can either occur if btc crashes back down low, and then stays stable or slowly increases, or btc at least picks a number and sticks with it for a month or two.

But right now btc acts like its bipolar, one day it's up, next day it's down ... alts won't really increase against that type of environment.

For me it will largely depend on the impact of btc halving both pre and post halving, if we saw a surge in market cap like 5x to 10x then we can expect massive alt season when btc will peak and the volume will transfer to alts from btc.

Doesn't really sound like altseason to me yet.

In any case, this alt season won't be like 2017's. I expect that if altseason does come, then it will only favor the strongest altcoins, while the ones beyond rank 50 or so will continue to fall into obscurity.

A sign of market recovery doesn't mean it will recover, there is a big difference and its not the first time we will see such sign of recovery that ends up disappointing, right now i'd better stay focus on upcoming good projects that can worth investing on instead of hoping for something that might never happen soon

It doesn't mean the price has to beat the ATH to have an altseason, you just have to profit trading altcoins. In my experience I think altcoins had also hit the bottom and most likely going to go up if there is just no bad news from the team. The tops coins are looking good today, it could be red again tomorrow so this could go on for the next months til the market does what ever it does. I'm all bullish for long term.

I'm curious if most just look at coinmarketcap, see green, and then think their coin is improving. Now against fiat of course it means it is, but as far as altcoin season goes, against btc is where it matters.

If we look at alts today against btc, it's mostly a sea of red. Strangely folks holding alts may have been better off yesterday or if btc fell even further, if their goal is to make btc, that is.

I'm seeing doge at -8% against btc today. That certainly isn't something that signifies an altcoin season.
