BUT THEN that would add considerable weight to our central point.

You seem to advocating that rather than explain the reasoning behind his bias moderation and corruption he just run away and lock the thread.

Thanks for highlighting the problem with allowing corrupt moderation.

If they were not corrupt and had ZERO TOLERANCE for ALL posts that were off topic and irrelevant that would be great. Please ask them to return.

Yes that is my exact point.

Where do you get that Bitcointalk is fair, unbiased and has moderators that are a paragon of virtue or should be?

I've been here since the earliest days of this forum and it's not really any different now than it was back in 2010.

This is a private, cost free, BITCOIN biased forum ran by people with very strong opinions.

You can always just hop on over to Roger Ver's happening place LOL.

~BCX~

That's all well and fine but if they apply different rules to different members then they should not be upset when people recognize this and bring it up.

Perhaps Ver has a point then. If moderators are free to and clearly do discriminate against different members with different views and enforce the rules as they suit them and not objectively and transparently, then he is free and correct to comment on that.

The point is more favorable (for this board) if you are talking btc vs bch  - the bias moderation would still be bias but there could be some case for stating this is a btc forum and understandably there could be some deep rooted opinions that are going to be harder to push toward 100 % objective moderation since people believe in the merits of btc over bch (since 99.9% of the board likely are not trained in the technical matters to make a truly informed decision) then it is not something easy to be truly objective about. Although really it should be a strongest argument (when view and analysed objectively) that wins and that is adopted.

The point is far less favorable when it involves sheltering observable and independently verifiable scammers and financially dangerous individuals against whistle blowers. Then when you notice the same group are all wearing and creaming off the highest paying sig (including the mods) you start to see that the two tier system of rule enforcement is quite a matter of self enrichment only, rather than supporting differing ideas of a decentralized trustless project.

We would like a set of transparent rules that are enforced equally and fairly for all members as much as possible.

If the board freely admits that will never happen, then that is fine. Let's not complain though when people recognize their is certainly unfair and biased censorship.

Another forum is of no interest to us at this time. For the most part the freedom of speech is still excellent. Only when you question the systems of control and dare to examine the backgrounds of those self elected to those systems will you start to get censored and given a financially dangerous warning on your account.

After marking bad our reports from this thread ranging from -

1. telling people not to reply on thread and ADMITTING they never read the initial post
2. making false accusations
3. admitting they don't read the OP before making random insults
4. strange speculation on what we look like (suchmoon taking her wig off to post a picture of herself)

all blatantly attempting to derail and deter others from posting, all low value off topic garbage

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5181755.0

These posts all remain and our reports marked bad?Huh??

This fucking sig spamming chipmixer sponsored corrupt moderator hilarious and co  goes and deletes to clearly ON TOPIC , RELEVANT and truthful posts.

We have noticed he does not permit ANY truthful debunking of the pharmacists lies and misinformation, and it looks to hilarious and co is touch about chipmixer being mentioned in a negative light. This is the problemm with allowing broke down bums as mods who need to spam 2 sigs ... who are also scammer supporters. Get this piece of shit away from any moderator position.

The posts linked below are the most recent on topic and directly relevant posts deleted when the above examples demonstrate he marks bad totally off topic, irrelevant garbage that seeks only to derail and deter others debating the points in the OP.

Anything ANTI sig or CHIPMIXER related is quickly removed from this chipmixer spamming corrupt mod.

.

Any reason you bumped this one??

We were going to start letting hilarious and co have a bit more slack and perhaps even stop using him as an example of bias moderation specifically and by name, since lately he has not been deleting our on topic and relevant posts. I mean sure he is still marking as bad posts like " who made this cunt bleed" or "  shut up you used tampon" .. but still we will endure this kind of shit being permitted to remain by him if he leaves our posts alone where they are on topic and relevant to the original post.

What we will not put up with is him deleting our on topic and relevant valuable posts and THEN ALSO marking as bad our reports of  well you have 2 examples above there already.

So if he leaves us alone we will start to leave him alone. Sure he has to kiss ass to keep his sigs we get that , but kiss ass without deleting our posts.

TLDR ... we will endure in silence some bias against us in the form of marking our reports bad on posts such as the above.., however just don't take it too far hilarious and co. Just do enough to keep on the side you feel is best for you , we get that, but no more crazy bias and we will let bygones be bygones.  If you had not started attacking us and being so bias we would have had no issue with you.

Then again if our on topic and relevant posts start getting deleted again we will be certainly highlighting that fact in full vigor.  It is his choice.

Three (2-3-4) of those things you mentioned are not breaking the rules.

If (1) you bait someone with insults but create a local rule stating that they cannot reply it is very likely that it will not be enforced.

Reporting someone for those things is called attempted censorship

You'd know that if you had read the rules. Very important: If you report someone for breaking the rules - make sure it is a rule

If it is not a rule - then it is a false report.

Q: Why haven't you banned <insert scammer username here> who is an obvious scammer?
A: Possible (or real, not for me to decide) scams are not moderated to prevent moderator abuse. If we start picking out which ones we call "scammers" and ban, we would make a lot of decisions based on biased opinions.

Q: Do you moderate/delete (possible) FUD, accusations and untrue information?
A: No. We don't have enough time to check every single piece of information and verify the validity of the sources. Also, just like scams - too much room for bias and abuse.

However, trolling isn't allowed. If a user is habitually posting obviously false nonsense ("obviously false nonsense" to an outsider, NOT to someone who follows or is involved in the discussion) just to stir up trouble, then it's considered trolling, which is prohibited. Such cases should be thoroughly documented in the report though (There are tons of reports that just say "trolling", but moderators don't have time to look through each user's post).

Q: Someone insulted me. Why aren't you deleting his post/thread?
A: Possible (since we don't have the time or resources to check) insults are also allowed as long as they contain any kind of constructive opinion, info or something else substantial and aren't off-topic. For example, posting something like "you are dumb" will be deleted as it contains no meaningful content. However, if the post is somewhere along the lines of "You are dumb. This is wrong because this website/thread/etc. has explained it's not right", it's in most cases accepted.

Here are the rules:
This is from a reference/educational/informational thread - it is NOT a rock solid list of rules.

The highlighting indicates how it is usually enforced:
Standard = usually discretionary / thread moved
Bold = deletion
Red = user ban
Blue = advisory rule

NOTE: This is meant to serve as a reference/educational/informational thread, NOT a rock solid list of rules.

1. No zero or low value, pointless or uninteresting posts or threads.

2. No off-topic posts.

3. No trolling.

4. No referral code (ref link) spam.

5. No link shorteners that require users to view an ad.

19. Possible (or real) scams and Trust ratings are not moderated (to prevent moderation abuse).

20. There are restrictions when selling accounts and invites for invite-only sites.

21. Old bumps should be deleted.

22. Advertising (this includes mining pools, gambling services, exchanges, shops, etc.) in others threads' is no longer allowed, including, but not limited to, in altcoin announcement threads.

23. When deciding if a user has broken the rules, the staff have the right to follow their interpretation of the rules.

24. Advertisements (including signatures within the post area) in posts aren't allowed unless the post is in a thread you started and is really substantial and useful.

25. Ban evasion (using or creating accounts while one of your accounts is banned) is not allowed.

26. Local thread rules, if stated properly when the thread was started, specific enough and don't conflict with the forum rules, have to be followed.

27. Using automated translation tools to post translated content in Local boards is not allowed.

28. Exploiting bugs or flaws (even if the result is harmless) in the forum's software is not allowed.

29. Sending unsolicited PMs, including but not limited to advertising and flood, is not allowed.

30. Similar marketplace items must be listed together.

31. User avatars must not contain NSFL or NSFW content, infringe on copyright or attempt to impersonate a user.

32. Posting multiple posts in a row (excluding bumps and reserved posts by the thread starter) is not allowed.

33. Posting plagiarized content is not allowed.
