what would be the reason of that others who can quit forever?
one of the reason would be the negative impact gambling made on their lives

That reason itself doesn't stop gambling addicts from continuing with their self-destructive behaviors

So it necessarily is not the key reason why it stops people from turning into gambling addicts. In simple terms, it is merely an instance of rationalization, i.e. a process of constructing a seemingly good or logical explanation that we come up with, the one that let us stick to a conscious decision of not going on with playing

More likely, we just feel deep inside that we no longer obtain pleasure from this activity, and it becomes for us a waste of time (and money). On the other hand, gambling addicts, or just addicts in general, don't feel that way, and that's the primary reason why they cannot be reasoned with (pardon the pun). They just feel the urge to continue

It's hard to take a break from gambling if it's become a habit, what's your Longest Break You Have On Not Gambling, in my case my longest days of break from gambling is 30 days when I take a vacation from a place when there are no casinos, and no internet connection.

Not totally a break though I just put a stop onto it. I don't think that I will be going back to my habit way back then. Well, I just play in park but not with an intention of having a profit anymore I just play for entertainment only. It was just like a sudden feeling like I don't feel the energy within myself, the excitement that I once have whenever I want to play gambling that's why I stopped. Change the things that I once used to.

But I feel that if we can leave gambling for more than 3 months, we can also reduce our behavior in gambling and who knows, we can also prevent the addicting that will be difficult to solve.

Once you got back in gambling and you are still not discipline, you will still continue to loss and eventually get addicted.
You stopped for 3 months, that only save you 3 months of losing money but the urge inside and that lack of discipline will never be loss once you are getting addicted.

This is unrealistic, an addicted gambler will never be able to leave gambling for 3 months, unless he's dead, they can't resist it, and even leaving it for a day is impossible because their body is aching for it every single day, it's like a part of their body which they can't ignore for too long. But if we're going to consider it true, 3 months might help an addicted gambler to minimize his addiction, but it will all go in vain once he return to gambling, addiction will still be there.

When we say a gambler has discipline, he should be able to stop anytime, but if a gambler is enjoying and he doesn't complain although he gamble on a regular basis, there is no reason for him to stop since everyone of us are looking for real happiness and gambling could be one, although a lot of people might not agree with me.

I agree to this, it is all depends on a person if he really wants to quit gambling, no matter how addicted he is, it doesn't matter if his resolved is much stronger than it, he could quit anytime he want and he will not be addicted on gambling in the first place.

I'm not into gambling but I have some clients and classmates who are Reay into gambling, if they don't gambling virtually due to low internet they will find way to play even around their vicinity

But the topic is about the longest break you have on not gambling. You just stated that you have clients and classmates who made their way to play gambling. Your statement is very far from the topic, and you said that they are ready to play even in their place. You spoke about their cleverness about gambling.

I, the longest break I had on, is about three years of not gambling. I just did a private business of my own, family, and my investments. Gambling is about taking a risk, and it is not a 100% win-win. So I just did a break about not gambling to take a rest and enjoy my money to something else.

Familiar with tong-its, they will play it anywhere as long as they have time, they consider it past time that they bring cards everywhere or they will buy cards since it's too popular in our country many stores sell it.

I like playing tong-its, but if it's my time to take a rest about playing, I will not play as long as I can. There's always a time where you will get tired of gambling. That's for sure, I guarantee you.

Honestly, my longest break in gambling is a month or a year because i only gamble when my friends just invited me to go with them at the casino or play with them through online gambling sites. It is pretty fine for me not to gamble for a while because i only gamble just for fun and entertainment, that is why i only gamble if someone just invited me to play or i am available.

What you refer to here is called a withdrawal syndrome

In fact, this urge can be overcome with the help of certain drugs like sedatives or nootropics (think NZT-48 here) or external assistance and support (not even speaking of forced deprivation). But as you correctly point out later in your post, it is not possible for a gambling addict to get rid of his addiction on his own unless he goes through a sort of catharsis after which he becomes a different person inside, now immune to this addiction (and probably to any other addiction as well)

But if we're going to consider it true, 3 months might help an addicted gambler to minimize his addiction, but it will all go in vain once he return to gambling, addiction will still be there

This is called a relapse

Gambling is like an any other bad habit such as smoking, is easy for someone to quit, it's hard for others who quit, then start again, quit again... Someone can quit gamble for the whole remaining life and therefore it is unlikely to be found him on the forum. My longest period was 1 day.
what would be the reason of that others who can quit forever?

i dont think theres such player or gambler that can totally leave the table like that, because most of us find this as fun place and why need for quitting?

anyway we have our own ways of treating this area and i truly believe that you are a gambler as you cant skip a day without playing.
Actually there is but the reason would be not appealing for us to see where people do only quit when they already messed up their lives or shall we
say they f*cked up their finances before they do stop gambling completely. Addiction is really hard to stop but we should really be that discipline
to avoid such situation.Gambling is for entertainment and yes, anyone cant easily leave up the table but as a gambler we should really have
that kind of line where you do "call it a day".
that is sounds like a contradiction for me hehe

you said addiction is really hard to stop and then next suddenly say gambling is for entertainment only , let's say you start to gamble as you treat it as a way to entertain yourself just like any other hobbies you have.
at that moment don't you think you are at risk being addicted to gamble? even it was just for entertainment purpose only, gambling is gambling where the addiction in it very often makes people frustrated nearly madness.

take a break and try to leave gambling forever during the break is not a bad idea at all as an approach, you have tried at least.

Probably a couple of weeks when I've been on vacation over the years. While I do enjoy gambling a lot and I tend to gamble every week normally after work, I typically just gamble because I don't have much better to do and I'd much rather be doing something else than gamble if I'm given the opportunity. There's also been times where I've stopped gambling because of somewhat large losses, though those losses have been reasonable and I wasn't ever risking money I needed for vital daily expenses.

I experience this many times, and sometimes I can stop, sometimes I can't.

Though I am not gambling the money for the food or the basic needs but still it would hurt us gambler if we loss a big money since we are not gambling to lose, we do it with positive thinking that we could somehow bag a big win, but since this is gambling, we really can't ascertain our win here, so always be realistic with whatever happen especially when losing.

I am still trying to discipline after I break for 3 months, I only playing gambling if I really want and I don't see I got a problem so far. I guess that it depends on the gamblers act with the gambling itself. If he doesn't want to get addicting, then he needs to maintain his discipline, so he doesn't attract to the gambling.

I see that many of us don't have a break in gambling, and many of them still playing gambling. I see that the gambler can control themselves in gambling, so maybe yes, they don't need to stop playing gambling because they can prevent the addicting. But in out there, many gambling cannot resist their mind to stay at gambling. And besides that, they don't take a break for a while from gambling. That will be dangerous to them because they can lose everything at any time.

If I am an addicted gambler and I want to be realistic about what am I doing, that would be quitting gambling for good, because repeating that same mistake, which is playing and playing gambling over and over again is the thing that you should throw away in order to do that, being realistic. You have to be more responsible and look at the bigger picture for you to realize that gambling is not worth it if you are not winning,

I know that there are lots of people who are winning a lot in gambling and they are such an inspiration to us, but we must know that we are not them, we can't do everything that other people does.

After my last time of playing, a several of months ago I stop playing gambling well, it becomes a lesson for me I got little addicted in playing gambling games online at first just for fun but eventually it will get severe, so I proved that even a gambler from the start treat gambling as entertainment can get addicted when the time goes by without realizing it and yea its hard to stop from playing specially if gets addicted. Well, thankfully, it's been months, maybe six months I'm not playing, and I guess I can extend it more.

I try not to gamble with 2 months in the past but after that i miss really to do it so i do gamble again then i really do that because i only in my house then when i go out then i gamble again so that's the situation of my life like i get the attetion or think to gamble again in again then now here in crypto then i think it so hard not to gamble for me
Probably rethink your life decisions fellow member. You can live without gambling but you cannot live without money. It is important to take a break from such activities be it gambling, trading or speculating on any other market. They are risky and we all have out good and bad days. If we dont take this break then possibly the losses that we incur end up being bigger.

Gambling is there as a mode of entertainment. Dont overdo it. Although some people will argue with me here but I still think having the control in your hands and not the casino controlling you is what should be aimed for. Play responsibly not recklessly.
Exactly, while it is obvious we like gambling since we are here there are many other activities that can be very entertaining and that don't cause addiction and can be even good for you, reading a book, playing a musical instrument, watching a documentary on TV, play some video games or just having a nice conversation with another person, there are many activities out there that you can do that will cost you no money and that are really fun, you just have to change your attitude towards gambling.

I'm not a heavy gambler so in my case I can bare months of not gambling because I only do it when i'm bored or got nothing else to do just to have fun and also sometimes to relieve stress. Gambling is easy to leave if you are not addicted but if you are already addicted then that's when you can't leave right away, so it is very important to control yourself for you to stay out of gambling if needed.

Because the truth is not all gamblers are responsible and matured, there are people who struggles because they can't control their emotion.
It's normal to see people who are suffering because of gambling but we don't hope that way, and this kind of problem leads to some country of banning gambling as they can't find any way to stop the irresponsible from gambling, like in China, gambling is ban.

As for me, I can say no anytime because my life does not only rotate in gambling and I only spend a little hours in gambling.

That's very unfortunate experience on your behalf. But did you followed those advises that were given to you? it's a sad fate you've got there and made you lost your life because you can't control yourself.

Start learning to control yourself so that the most important things on your life won't be gone because of it. I really feel sorry about it and thank you that you have shared it here. Have you asked for a professional help like a psychiatrist and psychologist?

Well if that's the case bro you lose someone that important to you then you should or this is the time that think over and over if you should continue playing gambling well there's only two result, first if you stop and prevent yourself from playing then there will be a new chance for you to fix your life and bring back the persons that important to you and start a fresh new start, second if you keep on playing because of addiction as deeper and deeper like a deep-sea more likely maybe it's will become too late for you to get on top of that see and you will only feel and see the darkness and eventually become lonely for your whole life. I'm not scaring you, man, but it's the reality, I know it's hard to stop then if you can't stop by yourself then find someone that could truly help you and a reason to stop which is your family.

I think it was almost about 6-7 Months since I last gamble .
And I think this is the longest so far last time was just about a couple of months but I would try to resist gambling for a year or even quit on it and never come back again.
