Are we all fools on believing the word "HOLD"?

What is the point of holding it for a few years if you give it up now? not to mention how low the price is right now compared to where you bought it.
it does not make any sense for me to sell it at this price, I would rather hold it into dust other than losing the chance for my portfolio to breakeven or even make a profit.
holding is fine but you must know what is the reason you are holding it.

In a strategic standpoint, it is definitely not worth selling it for fiat anymore since he's going to be at a loss, but since it's been 4 years, and it would be more wasteful to keep a dead coin in your portfolio, why don't he trade these coins for more profitable ones like ADA, or BTC? that way he can regain his losses, and he can find great use for these shitcoins without spending another couple of thousand dollars to fund his portfolio.

For @OP, I am also one of the holders from Centra, which I bought when the price was low. but it turns out that this project ran into problems and ended up in a scam. the price was past 2 $ and I still hold now it's just trash. I don't think there are many projects in 2017 that are still visible. even average if now we can see on CoinMarketCap. they are low volume and also the price has decreased by almost 80%

Most of us from back then 2017/18 made that mistake, I was part of the people too that had centra back then but was lucky to sell mine off before the whole problem they eventually got. Still have some dust in my Binance wallet now  



I don't do that any more, HODLing just cos people are screaming HODL and it could be that they have even sold off theirs. No matter what it is, even Bitcoin, once the price is high and I see a downward movement, I sell off and buy back when it has reverse.

I was of the same opinion as you before, but now I always fix profits, especially in a bull market, you will not lose anything if you fix profits, but if you do not do this, you can only lose your%. So it's better to consolidate your profits and move on

it depend with the coin or token and the timing when you buy the coin or token
if you choose great token like binance from that time at 2015 i believe you will get lot of money right now
but it can be experience for us just not to believe what people say and learn where the best time to hodl or to sell it

I like to share my story being a crypto enthusiast, a trader and an investor at the same time.

I started in this forum in year 2015 when altcoins are still a good investment and Binance is still not the most popular exchange in the market.
I trade with Poloniex most of the time, sometimes I trade with Bittrex but then I realize that I am not so profitable with trading since I cannot focus on it due to the reason that i have a day job to prioritize.

Therefore, I started to invest for long term and I was entice by how the market moves and I was so optimistic that long term could really change my life.
So to make the story short, I invested with different altcoins and have help it until now.

Now, when the bull run comes, I still couldn't sell right away as I was getting greedy thinking I could earn more when I still hold.
of course, who would not HODL when all your friends in the group chat are also doing the same, even if the price rise high already, they are still saying HODL, and I really do it, and just sell a small portion of my investment to reward myself temporarily was I was into a big goal with my remaining investment.

And then, the correction comes started in year 2018, and I still didn't panic, continue to hold and even accumulate a bit when I see price has really dump a lot, just imagine ETH drop 10 times, so its really cheap and really tempting for any investors. So here I am now, I am still holding at a big loss but at the same time I am still hopeful one day my dreams will come into reality.

So top 10 of my portfolio consist of the following based on my blockfolio.

I am also concerned about your investment but from here I see you don't buy major coins such as btc, eth etc. but of course you want to invest and increase your portfolio, unfortunately you choose the wrong coin and from the 10 list above only 1 coin that survives, namely NXPS.

the risk of holding is not something that you can control, the very reason why DYOR

is really important before dealing with any business to invest.

1 out of 10 isn't good enough not unless that the asset wo gave you the pumped went to the moon and cover all those initial investment from the 9 other assets.

The demand for coins to scam began to decline if you want to increase your capital by investing, you need to analyze the market and choose the right currency to invest coins listed up to number 10 in the coin market cup are better but investing in bitcoin and ethereum currencies to hold is a good currency for long term investment.

Nope. Actually holding is one of the effective tool that we can use in crypro market, but we must do it in right and efficient way. That is when the problem comes/arise. If you will hold a coin which doesn't have any potential to pump, then you are doing it in a wrong way. You must know or learn how to identify a coin that is worth to hold and until when you will hold it. Just to share, 4 years ago I am able to earn $10k-$15k just because of holdings.

If you didn't do that mistake and if you invest in Bitcoin at that time when many people lost their hope and sold out their coins, then you will be in sure profit in this day.

I think almost everyone involved in crypto has something in common with the OP and that happens as a beginner, and I feel the same way too.
However whatever happens in crypto will be a rewarding experience and will not be repeated if harmed and I will continue to use the word "HODL" if there is a sign of continuous increase with the coins I have and will follow my heart with strong feelings, to do so . sales.
and most importantly I sell it in a profitable situation and sometimes I also only sell part of the profit and I hold the rest, and it all depends on the market situation and at the moment everything is fine.

I read this article about Cardano. I think that it is a very prospecting coin for investment. The ecosystem of Cardano develops very quickly and I think that such coin is good for hold. Also it is necessary to hold Bitcoin and Ethere, because their price raise in long term.

This bull run is different from the past, only few of the altcoins have increased because people learn from the past experience. Gone are the days that FOMO are everywhere and even shitcoins hit their own ATH, as the market progresses, people learn and they become more mature, so we should not be surprise of what is happening now.

Actually for me holding is an old methodology. I was feeling that holding a specific altcoin could ensure a lot higher reward, however that is not the case we have any longer because right now Most altcoin are continually utilizing the coin trade methodology to cut individuals off. I was baffled when I took a stab at sending one to my tokens just to be informed that its now futile as the coin has been swapped and thats how i lost all my moozicore tokens because its changes from MZI to MZG

I really agree with this comment. it should be like that, this is what is called according to the conditions. not all coins / tokens must be HOLD, and not all tokens / coins must be traded. in essence we have to dive into the coin / token that we are observing. the deeper we can definitely determine!
