Real talk here, how can the Philippine athletes perform better if the government instead of cheering for them, the anti-admin is throwing mud to the admin because of corruption in building the stadium.

Don't conclude yet, there is no corruption until proven.
One of the senators who is a known critic to the admin is just making a controversy but that was already answered by the government.

Just check the local news in the Philippines and see whats the story about SEA games and you will find over priced stadium being investigated and over priced contract handed to a Malaysian firm. Very little mention about the athletes.

I am still hoping for Philippines to make it at least on the top 3 if they cant make it to number 1. Philippines will be represented with 1,868 athletes.

They can do the investigation but if the admin has a sopporting documents of everything and done according to the right process, then they are just wasting time. They should do the investigation after the event, now is the right time to support the athlete.

This is typical politics in the Philippines  Smiley, instead of helping the athletes, the oppositions are finding holes to attack the current administration.

Good thing is that they will only investigate the anomalies if there is any after the SEA games so that athletes would not be distracted.

One thing is for sure, the Philippines will be in the top 3 as it will field more athletes, in 2017 SEAG, we only send 497 athletes and ranked 6th in the medal tally.

I don't think I posted anything that says I agree that there is corruption, what I am trying say is the government (anti and pro admin) is more interested in answering allegations of corruptions than promoting how the government (anti and pro admin) supports the athletes. Lets just hope for the safety of all the athletes and the other delegates of the 11 countries who will participate.

Anyone here visited the Philippine Arena? Its Humongous! Its the first time an opening ceremony was held indoor, usually its outdoor.

You have all the opportunity to visit if you are near from the location, me, I don't think I can do that, it needs at least 1 day for me to get there.

Anyway, is there any update regarding a possible betting of the games in this tournament?

As an Indonesian, of course I'll support Indonesia to be the one who will get the most medals but I have to be realistic with the reality since Indonesia is not as strong as in the past (years ago) when we can be the top Nations few times in a row. Philippine as the host has bigger advantage obviously, my prediction is that it will be a tight competition between Philippines, Indonesia and Thailand. I do not mean to underestimate other countries but just sharing my prediction.
In case of betting, I'm not really sure if we cant find it on crypto sportsbook but I'm sure we can find it on local sportsbook especially on those South East Asian countries.

Thailand, Indonesia and Malaysia are the three countries that will continue to dominate the events based on their past performances in the last events combined, the Philippines can perform here they once lead the medal tally when it was held here, and besides they have the home advantage I see them as the darkhorse but unlikely to become number one here

Yeah right. In my opinion only one of the three countries will be in first place and even in my opinion the big three will still be won by the three countries. Because from what I have seen in the past, in every sporting event like this, the three countries are always in the top three even though they only have different positions.

that's not the only issue(not that I believe what senator says) our athletes are lacking in support from local governments there is not enough equipment or
projects to further nurture the skills and talents our athletes have. I used to be a part of the taekwondo team in my high school days and I still follow the
happenings to the athletes in my area. I have seen many talented practitioners in taekwondo and other sports that bring pride and glory to the city when they
participate in tournaments such as NCR meet and Palarong Pambansa etc... our athletes spend their days practicing with outdated equipment and such. it hurts my
feelings that these kids do so much for their city but they are being ignored by their own local government.

I've been looking for a gambling site that will cater to sports betting in sea games 2019 while now and I can't seem to find one. has anyone found anything?

Host country usually gives a good show so I'm expecting the Philippines here to at least land first or second in the medal standing. And then we have countries like Indonesia, Thailand and Malaysia not far behind.

It will be interesting to see crypto related sports betting sites for the SEA games. Specially in sports like boxing and basketball. Here are the venues;

Yeah, I've been to the Philippine arena twice and it's really huge! Some people are sharing facebook photos of the preparations for the opening ceremony and from that, I can say that the event organizers are really doing well. Kudos also to the government for not under spending and for the continuous support to our athletes.

I would feel proud to play in a newly built and top class stadium if I am an athlete. Go team PH!!!

Yes, that's true, I believe the host country can field more athletes in many sporting events, I'm sure the Philippines will field in more boxers here and of course, they have two world champion in skateboarding and gymnastics already, track and fields and swimming is where the golds are, there have been many issues headed to the games but I'm pretty sure, the athletes will deliver the goods because they are playing in their home crowds.

Indonesians dominated the South East Asian Games from 1977 to 1993 where they have won the most medals around 7 times. This is huge achievement but later years they were not able to show same progress. I am not sure that they will be able to top it this time around specially when the event is not happening in their own country.

as I quoted from wikipedia.org about the 30th Southeast Asian Games as follows:
Opening ceremony November 30, 2019
Closing ceremony December 10, 2019

I think these 3 countries will dominate the acquisition of the most Gold Medals:
Thailand
Malaysia
Indonesia

it seems that I know of one sport that can produce a lot of medals in football. and I said the 3 countries will dominate because I know that country often plays consistently at the Southeast Asia level.

I think there is a sports betting site.

Of course i would go for the Philippines as its the host country, in basketball alone, I am sure we will bag some gold medal already.
By the way, let's hope that some sportsbook would put a line for the games available in this competition so at the same time we can also enjoy betting.
I wasn't much into the East Asian Games, Malaysia and Singapore seems to have good number of players for every games. I believe this time it'll be Malaysia or Singapore that tops the table. Philippines has the home advantage. As stated there might be sportsbooks that list this games, but it is a tough thing to predict the winner.

I am rooting for the Philippines to have a good showing in this event. Players are motivated to perform extra in front of their home crowd. At least the Philippines could finish on the top three.

I will be watching E-sports and basketball events. I hope nitrogensports open betting line for those events so I can make small bets while watching.

Okay. Since we have a strong Duterte administration, I think there is really a good chance that we can top the overall gold medal tally. If my memory is right, we only won the first place once? It was during the Macapagal-Arroyo regime and the Philippines was hosting it too. Probably this will be another historic achievement here. Winning on multi-sport events represent might and power. The Philippines is still behind but if this type of strong government continues then it won't be surprising to see it aligns again with our regional allies.

I think the odds are tied for Philippines, Indonesia and Thailand. Malaysia, Singapore and Vietnam are the other tough competitors.

The Philippines might get the top 1 spot since most Filipino athletes would be invigorated by the cheers of the home crowd, inspiring them to do good in their own sports and categories. Though statistics-wise, Thailand and Vietnam would also be great contenders for the prime spot seeing how many medals these countries rake in albeit not being the host country. With that said, keeping an eye out for these countries would be thrilling, although the Philippine team would be in a more intense pressure since they are playing from their own land and expectations are extremely high.

Real talk here, how can the Philippine athletes perform better if the government instead of cheering for them, the anti-admin is throwing mud to the admin because of corruption in building the stadium.

THIS. Bro the problem surrounding the cauldron of the stadium and comparing it to what Singapore did 4 years ago is kind of stupid. The President isn't even afraid of the law at this point, and even threatens the law itself. I'm still hoping for the PH athletes to bag top 3 at the least, it is our home court and well, I still have that little amount of hope that they could prove worthy of our trust and well, at the least, make it as a comeback for what the government has spent on this.

I've looked at onehash but they still don't have it since it's still 1 more week before the ceremony starts.
Maybe you mean 1 more week before it closes as the SEA Games has already started yesterday.

Quote
Nice.

-------------
The record won't lie and the top 3 countries will be still dominating the sea games and if ever there will be changes it's definitely little. I mean those countries has proven tracked record and the support that their athletes are undeniably enormous.

Host country usually gives a good show so I'm expecting the Philippines here to at least land first or second in the medal standing. And then we have countries like Indonesia, Thailand and Malaysia not far behind.

It will be interesting to see crypto related sports betting sites for the SEA games. Specially in sports like boxing and basketball. Here are the venues;

thanks for the Link at least i can watch live without needed to go in province since manila is what nears me.

i support your stand that since Philippines is the host country the opportunity of the athletes to be motivated more is there.
as for sure family members can watch them compete not like if the event is in outside the country they are alone(though with the co athletes)

It's ironic to think that government can spend billions on infrastracture but still have lack of support in their athletes. I am not against on what they spend on cauldron as it's actually our pride but they should also focus on athletes well being.
Are there any current athlete complaining? Or just some past athletes ranting but they actually played in the previous admin and also under the previous sports head, Peping?

From what I know, our current athletes are well-taken cared off by our current gov't.

Interesting to see the introduction of Dota 2, Starcraft II, Hearthstone, Tekken 7, Arena of Valor, and Mobile Legends into the 30th SEAG.
