This is a good question but getting the right answer will be the issue because everyone will tend to point out their own opinion which might leave you even more confused. Also, in this space, all coins are suffering so it will take more carefulness to chose which is why most people are moving to BTC and ETH reason being that they both have a higher chance of recovery than others. Also, just like someone rightly pointed out, make your own research in every coin to make the best decision.

I don't know why but eos still become my favorite coin after bitcoin and eth. This coins already use by many game developer and trading exchanges. I heard some rumors that eos also adopt into online shop, very brave I think. Depend on that I prefer to EOS but anyway you should also calculate risk before trade/ invest.

Coins are struggling to keep up because we are in bear market, now that price are down is the best time to buy them, its a huge advantage compare to when price of coins are high, ETH is the best and very cheap now, the ATH was 1000plus and now they have switched to prove of stake, you can buy and hold and still keep earning rewards

Take your time and do research on top coins, you will surely find the ones that suits you and if you have to invest on new coins you will have to do tougher research on them, for now i'd say its better to go for old top coins, bnb, tron, enjin, bch etc

I have seen a lot of gaming and gambling projects tied to EOS. But EOS's technology seems far from everyone, even newcomers in the cryptocurrency market have difficulty creating an EOS wallet. The difficulty of creating wallets and costs made the EOS project lose the sympathy of many people. If EOS can improve on their weaknesses, perhaps the coin will go far in the cryptocurrency market.

Since bear market started in mid 2018 every single strong coins out there are struggling to keep up but its an advantage for those who are just entering crypto space, the best time to buy is in bear market so all you need now is good research and coins before buying them

Doesn't make sense to start mentioning coins because we have many good altcoins in crypto space, you need to take a giant step and do some findings yourself, just make sure that they are useful coins and you won't regret

Depends on your goals. If you target long term and maximum ROI, only target micro caps, under 1mil. There are some of them completely under the radar, cause devs struggling with crypto related marketing, on the other hand they have working product, real world usecase and most importantly customers.
If you seek safety, only purchase BTC for now. Any other mid/high cap coin is no better than BTC. And talking about blockchains (not app tokens), you’ll never know which one will be actually used in the future by business or retail. In terms of apps, it’s always better to buy them instead of blockchains, except BTC. Cause dapp can move between different blockchains. Only matters their own business.
I usually compare it to Betamax and VHS thing. Only 2 formats who competed the market. Even in their case you had 50/50 chance to pick the right one. In crypto it’s like 1 in a 100 or even 1000 chance. On the other hand, you can purchase a small video store share, which can easily trade both and in the end will only sell VHS. In the future will trade CD, DVD, BLU-RAY. In the end becomes a huge electronics store, or just a great local store. No matter if you purchased it at under 1mil cap and in the end it becomes 10mil or a 100mil. You’re still in profit.
So in any case, either purchase BTC or under 1mil Dapps. Which have working product, customers and a great blockchain usecase.
I won’t hype my own list of such micro cap coins here. You should make your own analysis and try to find such projects yourself. I believe it’s possible in a matter of couple days/a week. Then maybe another week for more in-depth analysis of top choices. And you’re good to buy 2-3 projects for a long term hold.

There are some good altcoins for your future stay and choose and do more research,

now is the downtrend so we should not risk investing in alts outside the top 20. because if the market continues the trend and some of the alts will die like the end of 2018, we certainly don't want make that mistake again. Now we should invest in the top alts and I encourage us to buy ETH. Sure it will have lower profits than other alts but it will be a safe investment. Ethereum 2.0 will be a turning point for its strong growth in 2020.
